Girls Trip

There is no raunchier, more raucous, filthy and truly crass movie out this summer than Girls Trip – and I loved every minute of it.

Girls Trip is just fun, a movie that—even within the context of its broad, exaggerated humor—never seems to be trying too hard.

What’s fun here is both the easy charm of the four women (two of whom have a long screen history together; watch for Smith and Latifah in a shout-out to 1996’s “Set It Off”), and the range of comedy styles they display.

All the women turn in funny performances — it's great to see Pinkett Smith cut loose, and the charming and radiant Hall displays a faculty for physical comedy — but this is Haddish's movie, and will make her a star.

The no-holds-barred comedy generally works, largely thanks to a game cast that plunges into the raunchy material with gleeful abandon.

Girls Trip accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do: shock and amuse. Along the way, it reminds us how important old friends can be.

The message here is clear: You can’t front to your true friends. This clique is ready to take on the world, and they aren’t afraid to fight dirty for each other. What can I say? Squad goals.

Surprisingly funny! I thought this was going to be your regular running of the mill chick flick, far from it. Super hilarious and a really raunchy comedy.

This is an amusing and entertaining watch, although it is decidedly cliched and features some quite lewd/brash humour and behaviour. Its a pretty basic watch I suppose but of course that means its an easy watch. I don't necessarily like particularly films with very extroverted groups of women, or ones with loads of sexual jokes and the like in them but I thought this one was ok. I did laugh at times - not all the time but now and then and I enjoyed some scenes due to the plot line, the scenarios the girls found themselves in, while unlikely, they were sometimes fun to watch. This felt to me more like a film length TV show than an outright feature film as such but for what it is, its not too bad. Its not exactly a greatly memorable film but its ok.

Im annoyed that this is the movie I chose to go see. I feel like my IQ was just lowered. I loved the cast and the overall story, but the humor was stupid, raunchy, gross bathroom humor that I personally don't care for. Maybe when I was 18. I will say that most of the rest of the theatre was laughing hysterically, so I guess its just me. I would love to see the same movie again with more intelligent humor.
