a very strategic game, not unbalanced, just some factories need more skill, the game better than most RTS games out there by a mile, considering it's very small size and that it's free

how is this game free? better than most RTS games that you have to pay for.

Completely unbalanced game for air players. For all the raves about it being balanced, it absolutely impossible to use air factories as anything except secondary factories. The developers are extremely biased against air play. If an air player discovers a technique that makes the air factory or gunship factory even close to balanced, the developers will hit it with a nerf hammer quick fast and in a hurry.

Zero-k is faithfully balanced, extremely polished and you can tell that it truly was built from the ground up with multiplayer in mind. It also has some of the most powerful unit management ever. I've seen people use zerok as an example when reviewing games like ashes of the singularity and homeworld. If you love the rts genre then you gotta give it a try, only thing it costs is time.

Best game ever, really awesome community and everything literally never gets old or stale. Tutorial when i joined kind of **** so i didnt play but then my friend started playing dragged me into it and i love it. This was over a year ago and i still play it 24/7. Dont judge it in the beginning trust me on this lots of ppl play it for 1 or 2 hours and say it **** because they think they know how to play but they really dont but once you drag them into it they love it.

A very wonderful rts I've watch grown since 2015. It's given me more hours than listed on here (according to the old site statistics, it has eaten up 6 months of my life). With a wide variety of units, and lots of ways to approach victory, it's guarenteed to give you lots of enjoyment like it has for me.

De manera resumida puedo puntuar lo siguiente: Diversión: 10pts Estrategia: 10pts Jugabilidad: 10pts Control of units: 10pts Personalización: 10pts Curva de aprendizaje: 9pts Mapas: 10pts Modos de juego: 10pts Cooperación: 10pts etc. El control que tienes sobre los elementos del juego y el juego es increíble. Es altamente personalizable y flexible, no hay otro con este nivel. La curva de aprendizaje toma su tiempo pero con poco conocimiento ya lo puedes disfrutar. 0 handicap. Realmente disfrutarás de tus propios avances, no tendrás privilegios engañosos que te permitan ganar falsamente. Hay mucho más de lo que podría mencionar, física, terreno, mapas, estrategias reales, ciencia... pero creo que lo mejor es que tú mismo lo compruebes.

Man, what a game! It's freakin' free! It has so much content that you would need to play thousands upon thousands of hours to even **** the surface!

Crazy fun. only gave it a nine because it's a little bit clunky when you first pick it up and the sheer number of things in the game can be a tad bit intimidating but that fades fast. Once you get used to the UI and controls you'll fall in love with them. Once you get a handle on it it's insanely fun with rewarding gameplay and lots of interesting strategies to use and even before you do it's a joy to explore all that this game has to offer. It's rare that games like this can be fun while you're losing but I can say that when I am losing I often have a smile on my face because of the rush you feel when trying desperately to survive; it's like nothing else. The ability to terraform adds a whole other level of strategy to the matches that's just insane, like raising a platform to build your radar on so it can see over obstacles. Could not recommend more!

This is the result of years of work by dedicated devs and at the same time players. This is the ultimate RTS where you can find a wealth of mechanics and/or strategies, so that no game is like another. Definitly worth a try. I have been playing this for 7 years now.

I make maps for the Spring engine. Many of which are featured in this game, so I am yet another contributor to this volunteer megaproject. Zero-K is my favorite RTS of all time. It takes all the best parts of Total Annihilation/Supreme Commander style games, and throws out the need for extensive eco basebuilding or teching up. It's big on fun, and with a permanent pricetag of $0, you may as well give it a try. What have you got to lose?

Great game! Absolutely recommended (especially if you like Supreme Commander, you're gonna love this!)

ZK is basically a game from a parallel universe where the RTS genre decided to spend more effort on actual gameplay, simulation, advanced control, and unit intelligence than it currently does, at expense of graphics. It compares to other games in the genre kind of like Dwarf Fortress compares to Settlers; and just like DF redefines how you think about deep simulation, ZK redefines how you think about RTS.

I'd better like Zero-K after putting so much work into it. The UI has spoiled me to the point that most other RTS can feel frustratingly difficult to control. The matches are so watchable that I'll stay up late watching the matchmaker beyond when I am awake enough to be playing myself.

Don't be fooled by ancient looks, this game is super fun and has a very addictive gameplay! Amount of content and depth of play is really staggering for a free game.
