Truckful offers a relaxing yet occasionally tense driving experience, combining package deliveries with a mysterious story, side missions, and collectibles. Its engaging narrative and puzzle-based gameplay make exploring enjoyable, although judging the depth of the environment can sometimes be difficult. Despite some grindy Scrap collecting, Truckful delivers a unique and compact adventure.

Truckful is a strange delivery game that shines in its genre mix, blending horror with cozy exploration. However, it also has plenty of speed bumps in its controls and exploration, creating a frustrating driving experience that could use more quality-of-life improvements. Still, once you get past those roadblocks, the game becomes surprisingly heartfelt, with a compelling story and a charming cast of NPCs who stick with you as you unravel the town's mysteries. It’s a bumpy ride, but if you’re willing to stick with it, Truckful is worth taking for a spin.

Truckful‘s flow might be interrupted by frequent loading screens, but it is otherwise a pretty fun, relaxing physics-puzzle about driving through a beautiful countryside delivering packages. That is, until sudden, unexpected but much-appreciated horror elements show up, giving the game a unique and threatening element not present in similar titles.

Truckful has a surprisingly deep, dark story with a lot of enjoyable, entertaining characters. This carried me through the game more than I expected, and I’m glad I got to experience what it had to offer. The physics are hit or miss depending on your driving, but the core mechanics and handling are fun. The game excels in story, world-building, mystery, and, more often than not, the main gameplay loop.

Truckful a game you can easily group in with titles like Dredge and Easy Delivery Co, though it relies more on physics-based safe driving. I do wish MythicOwl didn’t break up the immersion so much with the way it handles the map. And I think perhaps it was a bug, but sometimes even on story mode the physics system seemed determined to eject my packages even when driving slowly. But the idea is still pretty fun, and it’s easy to drive around Deepstone Valley to complete jobs or even just explore.

At times, Truckful feels fun, but that enjoyment wanes with repetitive objective requirements, frequent loading screens, and a just-okay story.

In the long run—much like any video game that simulates a job—Truckful turns into a routine: you end up doing the same things and, for the most part, driving the same roads. You move from one character to another, sometimes just to update them on the situation before speeding off to the next conversation. Car chases become few and far between—save for the showdown with the two ghosts—and the entire cargo-hauling mechanic tends to become monotonous. Ultimately, Truckful is a hard game to pin down: it aims to be "cozy" but fails, as the driving mechanics and camera angles will only frustrate you. It tries to be a thriller, yet that element becomes increasingly muted. It sets out to be a job-simulation game but embraces only the worst possible aspect of the job: the routine. The same faces, the same roads, the same packages—over and over again. At a certain point, you’ll even grow tired of the trees, the tree-lined roads, and the little birds.
