Almost Perfect.
Still great in 2025 Pros:
The story and gameplay are top notch. Visuals were stunning for the time and they are aging gracefully. The Gwent game is just too good and addicting, easily one of the greatest minigames ive played inside a game The difficulty choice is one im not fond of, and even if you pick the hardest, the endgame becomes almost trivial. In the beginning the game can be quite hard until you grasp the mechanics. The immersion of the game could be stronger. But given the scope its understandable to have UID always telling you were to go or if an enemy is to strong for you. Also enemies having different levels such has ghouls without visual cues also breaks some of the immersion But im splitting hairs really.
Its a very well designed game with a fascinating world and lore that will make you wishing for more.
Witcher 3 has many problems, yet I've still somehow played it for over 200 hours and gone through the story twice. It looks nice, even on Switch with the frequent framerate drops, and the world feels alive. The combat can be quite satisfying and elegant, especially against human foes, but it can also be incredibly annoying, with occasional insta-kill hits apparently coming out of nowhere. The story is long but very melodramatic and average, and really just provides padding for the boss fights. There are some amusing 'romance' (i.e. sex) scenes which are triggered by you choosing the right dialogue options, but it was often hard to know what was the right thing to say. At one point I 'achieved' a sex scene with a female character, then immediately afterwards said the wrong thing and triggered a fight to the death with her, lol.
The main thrust of the story is that witcher Geralt is searching for Ciri, a young witcher with magical powers whom The Wild Hunt want to kidnap or kill. For some short parts of the game you play as Ciri, during which you don't have any of the potions or abilities that you've collected as Geralt, and these Ciri sections feel clumsy, unbalanced and unfinished. Sometimes Ciri can slice through enemies like a hot knife through butter, sometimes not. Sometimes her magic amulet ability works, sometimes not. When Ciri loses health, the only way to get it back is to wait for the health bar to refill, which is painfully slow. There are some boss fights as Ciri that are made incredibly hard by the fact you haven't really had a chance to learn how to play as her, and every time you die you are subjected to interminable loading screens.
The autosave system seemed to break at some point, and there are long sections in which you can't save, so I had to tediously replay some parts of the game a few times because I would get to a Ciri section and just die from accidentally rushing off a roof or from one of those unexpected insta-kills. There are some plain unfair fights in which you take control after a cutscene, only to be hit with an overpowered attack that will take most of your health and which you can't avoid, and then it's back to the loading screen. The game also suffers from random crashes which make regular saving essential.
Witcher 3 is brain-off fantasy fun in the manner of low-budget Game of Thrones, and the combat is repetitive but mostly good enough to keep you coming back. Don't expect to get invested in the story, and be prepared to yell at the screen in frustration now and then.
I've played this game six times. It's very enjoyable, addictive, and has a beautiful storyline. The add-ons are also extensive and contain great content. It's one of the best games of our time.
The game has a lot of glitches. Narrative could be the best game, but not in this conditions. -1/10. The Switch 2 version of the game is unstable at 30fps, making it unplayable at times by the camera while not being able to fix it to bosses. Additionally, the game frequently crashes without allowing players to save their progress, resulting in a -1/10 rating. The lack of quality control and guidelines from Nintendo further exacerbates the issues. The game’s resolution is only 720p, and the textures are not optimized, or at least a minimum level of quality work has not been done, leading to another -1/10 rating. While the game itself is amazing, the team’s inability to adapt it to a more efficient and optimized version is a responsibility for the testing team and designers, resulting in a final -1/10 rating. Considering these factors, the total mark is 6/10. Although it could be the best game, it fails to meet even the basic expectations for an indie studio game.
I didn't mean to rate this and I can't take it down so I'll do my best to rate it. I've never played this on the Switch but I'll give this the same rating I gave to the PS5 version.
The game presents many dilemmas where you must choose between two unfavorable options — it's not a choice between good and bad, but rather between bad and worse.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an impressive blend of narrative depth, open-world design, and character development. While it has a few minor flaws, some find the inventory system cumbersome or the combat occasionally repetitive. The overall experience is overwhelmingly positive. It’s a game that draws players in with a gripping story and keeps them engaged with its world and memorable characters. For fans of RPGs or anyone looking for a captivating gaming experience, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a must-play.
This amazing game is in my top 3 best games I have played list, it has great emotion driven characters and an incredible storyline with fantastic sidequests to keep you busy. I highly recommend this game on PS5 or PC 10/10
This game offers a truly immersive and unforgettable experience. The storyline is captivating, drawing you into a richly detailed world. The characters are complex and well-developed, making you invested in their journeys. The combat system is fluid and engaging, offering a satisfying challenge. Exploring the vast and beautiful landscapes is a joy in itself. Every quest feels meaningful, with real consequences to your choices. The attention to detail in every aspect of the game is truly remarkable. It's a masterpiece of storytelling and game design.
The worst game i have ever played in my entire life. It is extremely boring, too much useless information, too much useless dialogue and it is so slow paced. Combat is mid.
Great game, but no greater than the original.
Loved it the first time. Wanted more of the story and the world of sorceresses, monsters and witchers. As a completionist I did everything there is to do, but it did become repetitive The game isn't pretty as similar adventure RPGs and the action isn't as demanding either. Even on hardest difficultly, you'll get by just fine pushing the dodge button here and there. That wouldn't work in Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima etc.
One of the best upgrades from generation 8 to 9.
The graphics and art of the game are unparalleled.
The gameplay and new camera in the next-gen update convey a much better feel.
Many textures have been improved
I should say that I found the main story in the Witcher 3 incredibly boring. The game did not succeed in making me understand or care about Ceri, and the whole game is dragged down by the main story especially for the first few hours. Yet it is a testment to CDPRs ability to build a world that I still came back again and again to play side quests in a world that feels alive. I love the variety of the carefully-crafted missions and the level of interactivity with the world and their occupants. In any other RPG, a boring main story would be killer, but here its the smaller substories which shine.
Witchermükemmel bir oyun gerekgösterimiyle gerek oynanışıyla harika adamlar bu işi yapıyor mesela geçen ac oyunlaarından bir oyun oynadım acayip canım sıkıldı hepsi aynı ama witcher üstüne hep birşey koyuyor
Why bother going to all the trouble of releasing an Enhanced Edition, but not fix any of the dozens of game-breaking bugs? The frame rate is much improve, but otherwise same nonsense from the first game. Constantly having to reload saves in order to progress missions. Riding Roach still ****. (Seriously the worst horse in modern day gaming.) I appreciate that the update was free, I only wish it had actually enhanced the game. Typical CDPR ****.
This game is very boring. Too much talking and NPC following & tracking. If you play video games to relax and have 30 minutes of fun after a day of work , it seems it's not the right fit.
a well balanced port of the game that runs okay on a portable console and looks some what okay considering its running on the weakest 8th gen console overall its a good way to experience the amazing story and gameplay of witcher 3
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is my favorite game of all time, the DLCs are incredibly good adding more things to do to a game that in its form base its perfect, really good secondary missions, the main story is perfect, continuing the geralt story of the books and the past games, and of course it ends the story very well, no matter what end you get. Also the gameplay is awesome, whit good graphics, good audio and a lot of things more. An incredibly huge and awesome open world. This is a game were you wont get bored unless you play only this game for 2 months straight. Perfect 10/10
The best Action-RPG I've ever played. It's amazing in every aspect: The combat is diverse, story's immaculate, gameplay is great, quests are really well-thought. It's a masterpiece without a doubt.
What I really like most about the game is the gorgeous open world; the amount of details the developers put in are amazing - such as the liveliness of a town, how the world is beautifully depicted with good lighting and sunset, trees swaying under the rain and wind etc, I love it so much that I can just keep running around in the world doing nothing. Skellige is my favourite, it was such a breath of fresh air after going through the depressing Velen. The main story was alright, I admit I didn’t understand some of it because I didn’t pay full attention to all their heavy dialogue and also I did not know most of the lores behind the characters prior to this game.
Esa version permitió que disfrutara de la increible experiencia que es **** buen trabajo del estudio que lo porteó y aún mejor de la gente que desarrolló esa aventura!
My problem with this game is open world. I hate question marks at map,it kills possibility of exploration, of course you can turn them off but the problem is That the game map is build arround question marks so this **** for me, gameplay = dodge attack xd nothing special
I loved the mechanism of getting lost during a main quest finding so much to do in the meantime. Absolutely fantastic even after years. Narrative are spot on, with intrigues, plot twists ata every corner. Decisions that (seems) to matter. Really really enjoyable, one of the best experience I've evere had
