Great sequel that built upon the foundations of the original. Though the story of the singleplayer mode could have been better.

Unnecessary sequel to this stupid shooter for filthy otaku who love Sailor Moon and ugly anime.

The game is generally great, but the history mode is twice timmes weaker than the first one. Except that, it is great.

Absolutely one of the best Nintendo games for the switch, and has a good storyline (singleplayer mode) and good online play. The variety of weapons and maps allow for good replayability. Only complaint is that a Switch Online subscription is required for online play.

Improved single player mode that I like, although I'm wanting for more enhancement as I only play offline. Nintendo need to make online free!

This game is great. But a huge downgrade from the first game in everything but balance. The meta is atrocious compared to the amazing meta of the other 2. The single player is ok. But it still is a Splatoon game. So it is incredibly fluid and a great time. I took the time to go into the fan servers of Splatoon 1 so I could replay it and still play it consistently but have never gone back to this since the third game. This game is worse than the 3rd game in everything but map design and the first game does it WAY better than both other games

Splatoon 2 improves on everything from the original while still keeping its best qualities. Some multiplayer issues are prevalent, but nothing too major. One of its biggest problems is the time restrictions on Salmon Run.

2 octo girls are hot. I had a crush on them in elementary school. The gameplay is fine but doesn't compare to the story, nor does the community or weapons feel as good as the first. It's still a great game regardless.

This is the second game of the Splatoon series and features a ton of content. The game includes lots of interesting boss fights that aren't to difficult, making it easy for an experienced gamer to pick up the controller, or a rather unadvanced player.

Splatoon 2 is pretty much Splatoon 1 for Switch. Its additions are minimal but fun. Although this game is a great entry point for people in the franchise which was previously limited due to the Wii U's failure commercially.

More of the same. If you love splatoon one you'll like splatoon 2, but this is when I began to get sick of the gameplay. This game doesn't add anything all that new or interesting for the franchise, and outside of the online is bare bones and not worth playing.

It was meh, I thought it was cool but then I realized, why do we have to pay 20 dollars just to play more of the Splatoon 2 campaign

Pretty damn good game, by far my favourite of the 3. The soundtrack, gameplay, and overall vibe of this game are top notch. I doubt this version will ever be beaten, but I guess prove me wrong, Nintendo. This is a very 'urban' game per se, which is different for Nintendo, but I'm all for it. Must have for the switch, even if it's not the newest version.

This game is really good, The story mode is okay, but the multiplayer mode is amazingly good, 8/10

super fun, so many weapons and kits, the splatfests are immaculate and salmon run is wonderful. idc if it's splatoon 1.5 this is a new console so it's okay by me. hero mode is fineee maybe a bit to similar to splat1 but that's fineee. also off the hook my beloveds

Splatoon may have saved the Wii U from being a complete failure, but it only truly shined on the switch. Perhaps what is a bit sad about Splatoon 2 though, is just how much they improved everything the original did, and people still hated the lack of content at launch.I can see the problem with rolled out content as someone that loves physical media, but the beginning reaction to this game was so off putting. It's as if people forgot how the original Splatoon did things along with not looking at the new single player campaign.Honestly it's really upsetting when people can only focus at one individual aspect ****, and not give it credit elsewhere, you are just the sum of your parts, not one individual selling point. While multiplayer content eventually started growing with new modes like Clam Blitz and the return of rank modes, so little was mentioned about the single player mode.Single player campaign mode is worth playing alone. While I agree outright multiplayer is a blast to play, there is just something wonderful about how they set up the new campaign compared to the original. In the original campaign you were only allowed to have one weapon through out, but Splatoon 2 realized just how ineffective that can make teaching other weapons, and opt to include them in various levels. On top of that, once you beat a level, you can go back with any weapon you have unlocked and play through that level with your selected weapon. Then you also have the over world becoming far bigger and more expansive for exploration with a bunch of goodies to find, and secrets to unlock. This is all packed together well with the story that makes the last splatfest in Splatoon have canonical consequences. Add this all together with some really good boss fights, and excellent level design and honestly you have something worth the price worth of admission alone.Basically Splatoon 2 has a great multiplayer, single player campaign mode, co-op mode, visuals, music, and interesting weapons to use. If you haven't got it yet, I strongly suggest you do, and if you have it, make sure to give the other modes the love they deserve.

I really liked this game. I haven't done much of the story mode. But from what I hear, the story mode is kinda mid but the DLC is good. Even after the game stopped getting updated I can still find matches relatively quickly. I prefer splatoon 3 but for some reason splatoon 2 feels more fun.

I'm an outlier, but this game just does not appeal to me. There are a lot of things that I really respect from the series like unique character designs, good music, and a pretty cool competitive community. I do think most people will really like this game and get a lot out of it, just not me personally.

It's a Splatoon game. What more do you want? Very high quality fast-paced brightly coloured shooter game with a cartoon touch. A great multiplayer game, and really fun to play with friends. 8/10!

It was fine when it was the newest of it's series, but with Splatoon 3 in the scene, I have no reason to come back to it.

Every positive review on this game is false. The weapon kits ****, camping is a bigger problem now more than ever, Grizzco doesn't work half the time, and the matchmaking is FAR worse! Nothing about this game is worth the stress or having to constantly put up with toxicity. The entire series needs to die, because nothing is getting better and Nintendo only cares about money.

It's a really fun and time-losing game, but the downside is that Nintendo Switch Online is almost a must. You can play Nintendo Switch online without buying it, but it's not enough.

Nice little game where you shoot squids with ink as a squid. Getting a kill feels satisfying and the campaign is also pretty nice. If you are looking to buy a splatoon game do not buy splatoon 3.

I'll give this a 94%. This game is amazing! Trying out so many weapons is sweet! Playing Turf War is excellent because it gives you a good challenge on facing real players worldwide. I had lots of fun playing the story mode. When buying weapons, shoes, hats, and shirts, they can upgrade your character's stats. The Octo Expansion DLC provides a good challenge for me as well!

Definitely the weakest out of the 3 games. Game was a blast to play and still has many good characteristics.

Perfect example of Nintendos horrible online servers. Fun fact: they dont exist! This game uses P2P for online multiplayer which is horrible because the entire game dies if someone loses connection. I do like the new weapon types and the campaign is pretty fun but boring sometimes.

Very mixed opinoins, it was fine at launch but after like 1.5 years the tenta missiles appeared... and K 52. I was a jet squelcher main :') .

Pretty fun, wish I could be playing it but I somehow lost the game card while moving I think. Never played the first though.

Easily the best outing of the Splatoon series, Splatoon 2 masters the Splatoon 1 experience by improving on a lot of mechanics and maps to make a very memorable experience for the switch. Turf War, Ranked and Salmon Run are all solid and get a high score, however you have to buy the paid dlc if you want an amazing singleplayer campaign - the normal one that comes with this game is severely lacking, thus making it hard to score any higher.

Splatoon 2 is a very good game! The moveset is easy to learn and the gameplay is just great! The single-player campaign is the same as in Splatoon 1, even the story is almost the same. But this is only a small point of criticism. The main modes of the game are Turfwar and Ranked Battle, both are so much fun. Also the newly added mode: Salmon Run is innovative and has interesting enemies. Two other criticisms are the opening hours of Salmon Run and the waiting time for all 8 players to join. Overall, the game is very good and I would recommend it to anyone.

A fun and kid friendly game that the whole family can enjoy. Splatoon has aloud Nintendo to throw their hats in the 3rd person shooter ring.

Besides from a lacklustre single player experience (disregarding Octo Expansion), and clunky controls for a shooter, which utilise motion controls to greatly improve your accuracy. This is the most fun shooter on the Switch.

I can't even begin to list all of the bad things. I'm used to pretty much all Nintendo developed games being at least good enough. Not this time. I would like to meet the person who thought releasing this game wasn't an insult to every shooter ever made and recommend them a psychiatrist

I really love the sequel game, Splatoon 2! It was my favorite Nintendo Switch game that I like to play! ^w^
