Simple yet surprisingly varied gameplay. [Christmas 2011, p.85]

The steep ramping of difficulty makes for a game that never feels as effortlessly addictive as titles like Angry Birds. [Issue#78, p.101]

A fairly simple arcade title that offers a so-so experience. Some of its gameplay is fun and it is challenging. But it doesn't offer you anything particularly engrossing.

Sure, it gets a little repetitive, but Rotastic reinvents itself on almost every level, with minimal cognitive reconstruction required.

Rotastic is a little XBLA game full surprisingly full of qualities. It didn't have a lot of buzz when it came out, but it deserves all your attention. Structured like an iPhone game and blessed with a fun atmosphere, the game offers around 70 very short stages to rack up points by getting gems and crushing bricks using a grapple. It's a very simple game, using only two buttons, for chasing the best possible score in order to unlock the following levels. There's even a multiplayer mode, and despite some shortcomings, it's a nice surprise.

Its gameplay is delicious and shows us how to make the most of a simple concept through 70 levels that last for hours.

Rotastic is a good game that through a couple of poor choices limited its own potential. Its premise is simple but engaging and developer Dancing Dots builds effectively upon that premise throughout the first half of the game. Unfortunately, past that point, unforgiving level design combined with unwieldy controls make for a gaming experience that's ultimately So-So-tastic.

Simply put, Rotastic is on the wrong platform. Its casual foundations are squarely rooted in the iPhone market and it's a shame that it has gone for the console market instead.

Roatastic is fun at times, but is way to shallow and lacks enough content to justify the steep price tag.
