Papertris doesn’t reinvent the wheel of the puzzler Tetris, but does act as an interesting evolution to the classic formula. The game’s layered depth is an interesting element with new rules and tactics to discover. It also has a visually appealing look, and a soundtrack that has no business slapping that hard for an arcade game. A decent price makes it an easy recommendation if your looking for something fun, familiar and simple to sink your teeth into.

Papertris is solid for its budget price. While I would’ve liked more options (and a consistent challenge), it’s a game built off classics. Local and online leaderboards help, too.

Papertris is far from original, with several accessibility flaws. It may fill a gap if you’re bored of ’99 or Effect but, let’s face it, if you’re bored of those, you’re probably bored with life already.

The biggest saving grace of Papertris is its budget price, but even with that in mind there are so many better options out there for puzzle game fans than this.
