Onirism presents an interesting set of ideas and has enough personality to stand out, but its execution still falls short of the concept’s potential. The combination of unbalanced difficulty and poorly structured levels undermines the experience, even with the protagonist’s solid mobility and the world’s visual charm. On the other hand, the variety of weapons and game modes brings fresh energy to the adventure, adding new dynamics to the combat. Overall, Onirism is a fun experience, but one that still needs adjustments to become truly accessible to different types of players.

Onirisim is a great homage to the PlayStation 2 classics of yesteryear with fun, fast-paced gameplay and mechanics. However, it has issues that can be aggravating to deal with.

Onirism is deceptive at first glance. Behind its cozy, colorful art style is a wild, unrelenting shooter that never runs out of new ideas. It’s playful, challenging, and bursting with charm in a way that makes the occasional frustration worth pushing through.

This is a very beautiful and atmospheric game. I was blown away by the coloful visuals and just how engrossing the world feels. I could probably spend hours roaming around and trying to collect stuff. Gear: Speaking of stuff, I didn't find any "collectibles" as such apart from guns, ammo, health and coins. That's all you seem to get. There's a very serious lack of map or direction because of which I cannot rate it 10/10. The lack of map, lack of written objectives, marker or pointer completely ruins this otherwise awesome game! Dropped after an hour of wandering around the second level with no idea of where to go. You cannot see at a distance in any direction (even from a great height). Hence, it's very difficult to orient yourself. You cannot even see the direction of the sun because there's so many things always blocking the sky.

A game with excellent art direction and gameplay, quickly addictive.
You start on an open map and set out to find the villain who stole your plush toy, but you can choose to explore the surroundings and search for treasures.
The 1.0 version is currently incomplete and requires patches, like any video game. For the most demanding players, it's better to wait a week or two before diving in.

Onirism initially charms with its colorful dreamlike world, but the illusion fades fast once you start playing. Severe FPS drops, poor optimization, and sluggish controls turn a whimsical adventure into a technical nightmare. It’s visually sweet, yes — but mechanically rough and unstable. I respect the indie ambition, yet in 2025, a game this unpolished feels outdated.
