A clever story married to dull gameplay. [Issue#183, p.83]

It's not on par with Flower or the like, but its similar vibe impresses. [Feb 2017, p.96]
How We Soar has a lot of potential, but it’s left unrealized in what ultimately amounts to a very unfulfilling game.

This is a cool tech demo, I used to show it to people who had not seen vr but unfortunately it's not a great game. Very beautiful to soar in the sky for a little while and I recommend doing that for a bit and checking it out. At the right price pick it up but realize you won't be playing this long.

Brilliant game - free-fly around huge stages from atop a beautifully rendered phoenix miles above the ground, or, in a few cases, below the sea, in space, or in a surreal nightmarish void. Captivating visuals, great sense of actually flying, moving soundtrack, enjoyable objectives, barebones but satisfactory story told through setpieces and non-intrusive cutscenes.

Whats with all the hate???????? The game was beautiful, it had a narrative, it was fun, good game play, and I experienced zero motion sickness. .......

Some minor iffy moments aside, How We Soar is a beautifully relaxing game, with tight presentation and some sound controls. A lovely concept that's really well executed, this is another wonderful example of why virtual reality gaming represents the way forward, and you should certainly check it out if you haven't done so already.

While the story is serviceable as a backdrop, it’s actually the environments that steal the show. Gliding around and exploring the levels is relaxing for the most part, apart from a couple of moments of disorientation. The artwork throughout is sublime and the music fits it all perfectly, though it sits along titles like Bound, where the art and experience also outshine the plot. If you have a PSVR and are keen to play something that doesn’t take too much effort while providing some great visuals then How We Soar is a worthy pick.

I'm really impressed by this game - it will appeal to those who loved Journey and also reminds me a little of the game Flowers. But on steroids! It is the best thing I have played on PS VR so far and is a real relaxing escape. The artwork is superb, the flight controls are intuitive and the game itself leaves me wanting to see what is in the next book. The game does not really tell you how to unlock each book but it it simply a matter of learning a simple and very natural sequence and in no time at all it becomes second nature. This is not a fast paced game for those that like to slash and kill, but a beautiful artistic and relaxing adventure for those who like that sort of thing. It is one of the few games that I would say is probably priced too low! The immersion level is excellent - if you want a place to hide from the world for a while, this is it!

Bolstering the ever increasing ranks of PSVR efforts that place a premium on calm and relaxation over challenge and depth, How We Soar is a charming title that embraces calming spectacle over mechanical ambition.

There's a lot of potential, but it would be much cooler with dragons. And fire.

How We Soar doesn't score highly for gameplay but as a PSVR experience, it is one that owners of the hardware shouldn't miss out on.

Im on the back of a massive bird!!! Its a childhood fantacy come true. Gorgeous graphics. The wings look incredible. Much prefer this to Eagle Flight. The relaxed pace makes it a joy to play.

This games looks so beautiful but it is so full of movement that I cannot play. I am so disappointed. I just wish there was some way to lessen the motion sickness this game causes me.
