Overall, I came away from Dark Deity 2 impressed. As far as it is a sequel, it’s an improvement from the original Dark Deity in many ways, which is saying something since I enjoyed that title, too! It’s a solid indie SRPG offering much replayability and player experimentation. I wouldn’t oppose a third game in this series, especially if it keeps this positive momentum. Instead of being viewed as just a Fire Emblem homage, Dark Deity 2 proves that it’s a labor of love with its own merit.

Dark Deity 2 is far from perfect, and it could use a few rounds of post-launch polish. But it’s a strong step forward from the first game’s base, adding and refining smartly to make something within their means that’s still engaging to play. We hope they’re able to keep delivering games like this in the future.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* I’ve spent a few hours with Dark Deity 2, and honestly, I’m loving it. It has that classic tactical RPG vibe, but with a story that pulls you in and characters you genuinely want to get to know. What I likedThe story: Well-written, with intense moments and lighter ones. It grabs you from the start. The humor: Some lines are genuinely funny. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is refreshing. The “bonds” system: I’m usually not a fan of this mechanic, but here it works. It helps you connect with the characters and understand them better. The soundtrack: It fits the mood perfectly without being overwhelming. Some tracks really elevate key scenes. The retro graphics: Pixel art done right. You can tell there’s a lot of care in the visual design. What didn’t convince me No Spanish language option (yet): That’s a shame, since many players might miss out. Thankfully, it’s expected to be added around August or September 2025. The “bonds” system isn’t for everyone: Even though it’s well implemented here, I get that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. In summary: Dark Deity 2 is everything that made the first game special—just better. And that’s saying a lot, because many sequels fall short or lose the soul of the original. This one evolves without losing what worked. If you liked the first game, you’ll love this one. And if you didn’t play it, this is a great place to start.

Very good FE style game, multitude of classes, skills and interactions, challenge chapters, training battles, difficulty sliders from super easy to extremely punishing, upgradable spells, class switching, socketable gear etc. Ad even though it's not as deep in terms of mechanics as lets say Tactics Ogre Reborn, it is a truly great game, overwhelmingly positive on Steam, no idea what these "critics" are on about.

From a unified visual style to maps that will test your mettle, Dark Deity 2’s improvements are plentiful. Sure, the dialog can come uncomfortably close to sounding like made-for-streaming filler. But when you’re using the carefully-cultivated abilities of your party members to trounce a dominant foe, these moments can be forgiven.

There are two schools of thought for Dark Deity 2. The game will feel very familiar to tactical RPG fans, and it plays things quite safe. However, there’s poise and polish to everything, and a single playthrough is easily enjoyed through its gameplay options alone. Despite the lack of bells of whistles to make it feel unique, the game deserves reward for how it utilizes its strengths. Dark Deity 2 is like picking up comfort food in that it’s perfectly enjoyable as something easy to digest for tactical fans.

Dark Deity 2 is a clear improvement over its predecessor, offering streamlined, satisfying tactical combat and strong customization. While the story and presentation fall short, the engaging gameplay and replayability make it a worthwhile experience for strategy RPG fans.

A great substitute for Fire emblem and a solid continuation of Dark Diety. With memorable Characters and systems and solid level design.

Ya por fin en español, aunque han **** demasiado, por eso les doy un 8. Si lo encontráis rebajado y os gustan los jeugos tipo Fire Emblem (antiguos) vale la pena.

You lead a ragtag group of heroes through grid-based combat where every step feels like a high-stakes game of “please don’t accidentally walk into that archer’s murder zone.” The story is earnest, the characters have more personality than an angry alpaca wearing a visor, and the battles are delightfully strategic—like chess, only the pieces shout quips at you before getting decapitated.Leveling up feels satisfying (mostly), item management is robust without being overwhelming, and the class system lets you customize your squad into whatever weird fantasy trope you’ve been secretly craving—yes, I sincerely needed a spear-toting bard and no one can stop me. The pixel art style is charming, combat animations are crisp, and every map feels like a puzzle begging to be solved… usually by sacrificing that one hero you forgot to **** course, Dark Deity II isn’t flawless. The difficulty can spike like it’s auditioning for a roller coaster, and the story sometimes forgets it’s supposed to make sense (plot twists happen with the subtlety of a squirrel on espresso). But when it works, it really works—strategic battles that keep you thinking, a cast you’ll (eventually) care about, and that sweet, sweet feeling of finally crushing a mission that’s been stomping your face in for the last three hours. 8/10

Actually worse vs the first game. Feels like it was made by AI. Terrible class system. Unlikeable characters.
