Juggling genres is the series’ trademark and the latest game offers much larger variety in that aspect than any of its predecessor. Most of the genres were tackled well enough, but not all ideas are spot-on and almost every part of the game could be improved. It is the best Battletoads game to date though and it would’ve scored higher if it wasn’t for one frustrating and infuriating section towards the end of the campaign. [11/2020, p.55]

Aside from the lack of online co-op, Battletoads is put together beautifully, with tremendous hand animated graphics, well written and witty storyline, and tight controls which made me very happy as I was fighting my way through the enemies.

Oh boy, the artist hard carried the game. The environment and all the art is so freaking amazing and cool. But everything else? Its worse than a gamejam game. The voice actors were so horrible, it matches the quality of anime dub, or even worse. The gameplay was pretty **** too. Its an old school 2d fighting game were you walk to zones and u get trapped till you clear all the enemies and eventually you get to the boss. The fighting really felt mindless clicking to me, it wasnt fun at all. The story matched the voice acting. I swear they just let some little kid write the story and lines to speak for them. If it was rated just for the written word aspects, I'd rate this as a 1.

Very simple yet difficult game, similar to Geometry Dash. The NES version was the best one though.

In two words - it's an incredibly entertaining game. Fun story, good gameplay, clever, sly, sarcastic characters, and dialogs. The missions are not long and are always diluted with enjoyable action. Everything is beautiful and interesting. The game does not leave any bad or negative emotion behind, it is a complete joy and fun even when playing alone. You always want more games like this.

Battletoads is a victory for Microsoft, Dlala Studios and Rare. It successfully takes a brand that’s been dormant for over two decades, breathing new life into it and updating it for the modern generation ardently. While it’s a huge shame that Battletoads isn’t playable online, and makes some missteps in it’s third act, it’s hard to deny that this is the most charming rendition of our favourite videogame amphibians. But most of all it's funny, and that's refreshing.

this is not a good old battletoads game, but it's still a good and fun game, I can totally recommend it.

Battletoads (2020) keeps the soul of the notorious original game intact while revitalizing it with interesting minigames, hilarious writing, and couch co-op that makes this a worthy reason to revisit Zitz, Pimple, and Rash. While the absence of online co-op is pretty disappointing and the beat ‘em up gameplay can become dull by the end of the campaign, this short ride is one I can full-throatedly recommend.

"It's a shame" is probably the phrase that will stay in your mind after finishing Battletoads. Because the title advances at the start all the arguments worthy of a varied, crazy and solid game (not to mention the animated cinematics with the writing and the very successful rhythm). But we get disillusioned when the most engaging phases (beat 'em up and shoot' em up) cease to be renewed, and Battletoads tries to save the ship with very small game sequences, sometimes good but sometimes totally failed.

While the art style and crude humor may be the most polarizing aspects on the surface, the lack of any consistency when it comes to gameplay and level design is the real disappointment in what was supposed to be the triumphant return of Battletoads.

I was very impressed by the variety of gameplay on the levels, it was interesting to play all the time, but these platforming games with requirements to complete the level in 10 seconds are already annoying.

Acho que um dos maiores pecados desse jogo é focar mais na parte do Toads do que do Battle, pois o jogo tem menos fases no Estilo Beat and Up e as corridas de moto do que nos outros estilos; E se você está fazendo um jogo do Battletoads com menos Beat and Up e corridas de moto do que os minigames, os plataformers e os space shooters, significa que você está fazendo de errado sem contar que o jogo ficou bem awkward com a Dark Queen sendo uma das mochinhas para só no final se tornar do mal, e mesmo assim ela nem faz nada. Enfim, poderiam ter feito o jogo como se fosse um spinoff mais do que um reboot, porque isso parecia mais um jogo party do que um Battletoads

Whomever made this doesnt understand what battletoads is. There is hardly any first fighting toads, its mainly mini games when you get half way through. I havent had a melee fighting stage in at least a hour of gameplay. What frustrated me is some of the mini games are mind boggling boring, no fun boring waste of time. Meanwhile other minigames dare unrelentinglu difficult and font understand the balance between difficult and cheap. Was playing this with a friend and he got tired of it and wouldnt play it anymore due to this. I beat 3 more levels solo before i decided i hate this game. The actual battle toads type combat youd expect is fun but rare, i enjoyed the first couple hours and despised the last couple.
