If you spend some time learning how to fly the Apache in the realistic mode, the game provides you with some very entertaining hours.

Maybe saying that this is currently the best helicopter simulation game is not the greatest of the praise due the lack of competition, but certainly it is an enjoyable game.

Apache: Air Assault é simplesmente um dos melhores jogos de helicóptero de combate que já joguei na vida.
Lançado lá atrás para o Xbox 360, esse jogo marcou demais a minha infância. Eu passava horas e horas pilotando o Apache AH-64, destruindo tanques, bases inimigas e helicópteros adversários em missões cheias de ação. A sensação de voar baixo, fazer manobras arriscadas e descarregar foguetes e mísseis era viciante. Os controles eram muito bem feitos pro Xbox 360, dava pra sentir o peso da aeronave, o recoil das armas... era extremamente satisfatório.
O que mais me pega até hoje é a nostalgia. A campanha tem várias missões variadas (ataque a alvos terrestres, escolta, defesa de posição, combates noturnos), o visual da época era bem impressionante, com explosões gigantescas e efeitos de partículas que deixavam tudo mais épico. A trilha sonora e os efeitos sonoros dos motores e disparos ajudavam demais a criar aquela imersão.
Hoje em dia é raro ver um jogo de helicóptero de combate tão direto, divertido e sem enrolação como esse. Muitos jogos modernos complicam demais ou ficam mais simuladores pesados. O Apache: Air Assault acerta no equilíbrio perfeito: acessível pra quem quer diversão imediata, mas com profundidade suficiente pra quem gosta de dominar o helicóptero.
Sinceramente, eu talvez nunca veja um jogo do gênero que me marque tanto quanto esse marcou. Foi uma época dourada do Xbox 360, daqueles jogos que a gente jogava o dia inteiro com os amigos e não cansava. Se você curte jogos de ação com helicóptero e ainda não jogou, vale demais a pena (mesmo que seja de segunda mão ou em emulador hoje).

As an Apache enthusiast, this game is alright. As long as you don't get too far in the campaign missions. If you just play the random free mode, it's rather fun. You get to blow up, buildings, houses, automobiles (both civilian and military), bridges, and even an entire power station! Such a shame it never got to become backwards compatible. I'd love to see Gaijin Entertainment remaster the game.

Apache: Air Assault isn't as engaging, fast-paced and story-driven like Ubisoft's H.A.W.X. 2 or even Gaijin's own IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey. But it does have enough simulation charm to please fans and fill the heli-simulator void, should you be experiencing one.

It could have been better, but as a simulator it's quite good. It may be too difficult for many people, but those willing to accept its realism will find a game that doesn't often come out on consoles.

Apache : Air Assault is for a niche audience. So if you're not a chopper fan, don't even consider it. If you are, but a little, then Apache will offer you some nice sensations. Too bad its interface is so basic, its staging non-existent, and its solo campaign lacking diversity in the missions, because Apache would have been a real benchmark, with a position to appeal to a larger audience.

It's hard to recommend this game to anyone but the most hardcore of flight simulator fans. As in, you have to be unreasonably hardcore. As in, you have Apache-themed bedspread and keep a picture of a Boeing AH-64A in your wallet that you stare at longingly throughout the day.

I sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I’m **** **** but I don’t care, I’m beautiful. I’m having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me “Apache” and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can’t accept me you’re a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. graphics:7 /game play:7 /story:N/A /music:8 ---good---- positives:one of a kind on xbox-good graphics for the Apache- negatives:very hard to control with the analog sticks- no story-no details on enemies vehicles-does not understand how to use your arsenal because of the bad tutorial-no checkpoints ??? in the mission-a lot of pain in the ass missions-no specific strategy to win .. but it is enjoyable game u feel your self flying a real chopper ,,this is the only game which can compete with ace compit game....keep it up Russia

Apache: Air Assault is a new flight/combat game of Activision. The story of the game is funny, have some mistakes in the development, but is interesting. The graphics are really cool, and amazing. The gameplay is great. The controls are really good. Apache: Air Assault is a greash game.

I did like the realism of the flight simulation, maps and graphics of this game. I do think it was lacking in most other aspects of a military air ground task force. I think the 100+ targets on each mission is about as unrealistic as it gets. There was many missing aspects of this game like the air superiority factor that combat fighter jets would have enforced, and ground targets amassed in such a jumble that the AC-130 spectre/ puff would have been used. I give it a D- for realism.

Not only is the gameplay terrible, but the physics is too! If it was the same as Air Combat, this game would be worth a 7.
