Hellpoint3

When playing Hellpoint, you gradually realize you've come to your lowest point in life. This game is hell to play through, and as you endure all its hellish machinations, you'll find yourself constantly questioning the point of your very own existence. Hellpoint rips the soul from what constitutes the soulslike genre, devours it, and then regurgitates you a half-digested, wretched abomination ****. Most bosses are recycled elites and brutes, the controls are clunky as hell, and all regions are literal mazes. At some point the game gets an identity crisis and decides it wants to be a platformer. You are then forced to go through platforming sections as if you were **** Mario. The allegedly not watered down multiplayer is indeed watered down. The other player can't interact with key items or operate most doors. If the host dies, the other player dies too. Very frustrating. Hellpoint has some interesting mechanics and ideas, but the unpolished gameplay outweighs all positive aspects of the game. It truly is wasted potential. Hellpoint is hella bad to the point of no redemption. Play Mortal Shell instead.

How far will you go? Well, certainly not as far as Bioware went to completely **** up the game. The outlines of the general plot and the setting are not bad at all, quite the contrary actually, however, whoever is responsible for writing the characters and their dialogues must've been taking huge dumps while doing so, because that's what the characters are — absolute shyt. Ryder is a spineless overgrown teenager whom (to whom! and your goddamn father…) most of his/her crew disrespect all the time. Tempest feels more like a freakshow whose members could use some time in the brig than a ship. At least Suvi can always "peck up something" for "Raider". Another big issue is the facial animations or rather the lack thereof. I like to think the people got some Frostbite from the 600 years spent in cryo pods, and now their faces are tired from dealing with everything! Given that characters' lines won't make you laugh, the horrible animations is sadly the only thing that will. The dialogue options don't seem to affect your game. You can only choose between being a whimp and, well, being a whimp with some extra cringe. Also, why does every female krogan sound like a gay man? The environments look great and the gameplay is pretty decent (not clunky like in the trilogy), which is a shame, as this shows the game had some potential. But unfortunately, some writer decided that only the most obnoxious people boarded the Andromeda Initiative ships…

A unique game with fair controls and intuitive puzzles that's very fun to play in coop.

Heard it was a really great game. Turns out it isn't. Repetitive gameplay, disagreeable protagonist and annoying characters, plot plays out like some fanfiction. Abuse dash, spam attack, this game is a certified button masher. In every run you fight the same bosses (slight variations of bosses aren't new bosses), go through the same bioms. Play Dead Cells instead.

The best twin-stick shooter that has ever existed! Extremely fun to play with friends. Well designed, well pulled off, well done. Everything is excellent except: Poor variety of secondary weapons Repetitiveness Toxic borgdivers who are pathetic without their Trident and Rumbler.

It would have been an 8 or 7 had the game been polished. It is indeed ambitious but the story and voice acting are bad, but more importantly, the game runs at 15-20 fps when in split screen, there are numerous game breaking bugs and glitches, the game crashes a lot, … I loved the concept, on paper the game is great, but it runs like crap.

Nex Machina: Death Machine7

The more you play, the more you see the flaws. I put 40h into the game and got the platinum trophy and also beat the very last boss, Nex Machina. So let me tell you that the game is actually an excellent twin-stick shooter but unfortunately it is very short (45 mins). It is so quick-paced I don't even remember what the enemies look like because you shoot them on sight and after one hit they perish. There is also one totally abusable mechanic - it's called "dash explosion", with that you can dispose of enemies right after they spawn giving the no time to attack. This'll end up as your primary weapon for killing non-one-hit foes. They normály have up to three phases but you get to see none of them since you execute them before they have a chance to breathe. But don't get me wrong, the game is in other aspects absolutely wonderful - exciting and smooth game-play, good soundtrack, challenging bullet-hell, nice design, etc. It is truly a shame that it's so short. I would give this 7.5 but since the user score is lower than 8 I opted for 7.
