Great game, lots of value here, im missing alot of polish though. There are alot of small details i think should be here that arent, why can you even smash a plant with your pickaxe?? The whole silo system is pretty dumb.
This game is good, but not to the extent the hype has made it up to be. The world is really pretty but the emmi areas which make up a sizeable chunk of the map look really boring., The gameplay is fun enough. The biggest flaw is the movement, the analog stick just isnt good enough for the fiddly movement. This becomes a bigger problem the longer you play as more mechanics are added such as the shinesparking that the game relies way too much on in its shinesparking puzzles, they just arent fun as the solution is ususally obvious, just incredibly frustrating to do. Dreads controls need to be more tight for its difficulty to not feel cheap. Samus still moves with the same segmented crouch, then morph movement she had on snes and the stick **** for it, the aiming is really good though so im glad they made that work well. The music is the worst from any metroid game, incredibly disappointing. EDIT: Now after reflecting for a while i think i was a bit hard on the game as i had decided to 100% before i started. The games controls become very frustrating first when you do several endgame shinesparking puzzles in a row. Im going to keep the score at a 7/10 because nintendo keeps the price at 60€ though
Great game, combat feels amazing and the world is beautiful. The game has amazing bosses and great replayability. I do wish the difficulty curve was a bit smother though, the second half of the game is easier than the first and the final boss is a joke. I also have a pet peeve in that the armor wheight limit system feels really limiting. The invading system is broken, sometimes several people invade at once and you have no chance, it is very frustrating as its not fair at all, very stupid.
Probably my favourite game, no game has immersed me more. The world is incredibly detailed and so much fun to explore. Walking through Bryyo had me looking at the big stone golems, staring at the beautiful skybox and dreaming about the history of the planet to the awe inspiring music. Skytown's steampunk pods were so cool and the music sounds like you've arrived in heaven with bells and angels singing. I really cannot praise the worldbuilding, music and art of this game enough, absolute masterpiece. i know the game has some flaws, the combat is a bit weird, most enemies are bullet sponges unless you use the game breaking hypermode. For me though, i dont mind the combat, atleast you can breeze through the game feeling powerful so you can explore.
Disappointing. i've seen very polarising reviews here, on one hand you have game critics universally giving every game a 9/10 and never critiquing anything, not this game either. And on the other hand you have the barrage of user reviews slamming a 0/10 because of stuff unrelated to the game or not being able to have several islands per copy. Im gonna try to save gaming and actually review the game. Animal crossing is in everyway except for graphical fidelity a step down from new leaf. After the tutorial there is no real progression and it really shines a light on how little there is to do in the game. You can go grind ingredients for recipes you dont have, listen to the 4 possible repeating sentences your villagers can say, or catch bugs/fish. Why is talking to your villagers such a bore? talking to them brings up a submenu basically asking "are you sure you want to listen to the repeated dialogue again?". In new leaf, you could talk to villagers for a long time before they started repeating themselves, i really dont know why it is so limited here, since its such a crucial aspect of the game. With these main gripes clear, i would like to say that the game isnt all bad, designing your island and home is fun. Fishing is also fun, filling up your museum is the replacement for any progression the game otherwise lacks. Overall this is a clear downgrade and the praise the game has gotten (perhaps because of release timing and new players) is not promising. I would recommend new leaf over this every day of the week, and you'll save 30 euro! What a shame.
"Being ganged up on" the game, its also not free, it costs 4 euro a month. the singleplayer is another 10 so im not counting that in here. how do you **** up tetris?
This game just **** you right in to its alien world, really immersive and beautiful. With its Hr giger inspired art and atmosphere similar to metroid on nes this is really a unique experience. The soundtrack fits the game but isnt very memorable, which is a shame because a game with this much atmosphere deserves it. The game is filled with sprawling otherworldly pixelart backgrounds which again and again had me stop in my tracks just to soak them up, I really appreciate the world that has been crafted here, while the tiles that make up the playable parts are unvarying, i find that with the backgrounds this had me fill in alot of the blanks with my imagination. The gameplay is simple but solid with the exception of a late game dash mechanic which is akwardly mapped to the movement buttons. The difficulty is also well adjusted for most of the game, and with the exception of the occasional **** enemy and one or two really unfair bosses (although there is a gimmicky way to beat the wasp boss, and it was rewarding finding that out, the boss can still **** my ****) i rarely found myself frustrated with the game. I think the story of the game is ok, but its something you should manage your expectations of, sometimes less is more and the stellar artwork of the world and characters does well to set the mood, the story doesnt take up more space than it warrants and for me did not take away anything from the experience.
