Such a delight. You can even see the finer similarities between the high school Elle and the one we know from the films. Great casting and rich side characters with storylines I look forward to developing further in future seasons.

Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)6

Update: added another point - I think some stuff in season 2 really earned it. The changes were intriguing/engaging/different. I do enjoy pondering and analyzing adaptations. (I will note, I think in general, CW that they will straight up just burn people alive on camera. I remember the show cutting away in the animated version, but not sure.) Thankfully, it didn't make the same mistakes as the movie we don't talk about >.< it goes and makes its own mistakes, and its own changes from the original media that turned out well. The animated original will always be my favorite, and I don't think there needs to be a live-action of everything, but it is nice to see a beloved tale come to life without a bunch of whitewashing for sure. Some criticism of the show is just the usual loud (creepy af) corner of the internet, while other criticism has merit. I haven't been following the project much, I was just reminded of it after seeing the cast on youtube and circled back to watch it. Without spoiling anything, I do think it's worth a watch, based on what i've seen so far. I've only just begun season 2 and the acting of some of the younger actors have definitely improved already (not saying they were bad before, but I was impressed.)

Good Omens: Season 39

The finale will put your soul through the wringer for sure. I'm still processing, but I know it resonated with me. Anyway, I won't go spoiling anything. Enjoy the suffering!

Even when the characters behaved in a shameful manner, they were so compelling. Love this quirky little show. Really wish it got a third season to wrap up. Only found out about it and binged it just now, in 2026.

I'm not sure if the Orville will continue past the episodes that are out, but I genuinely enjoy this show and the discussions it brings attention to. It's important to consult with and include voices from the communities being represented, too (whether literally, or through sci-fi windows like Moclans.) I hope more shows dare to go where The Orville has, and beyond.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft: Season 19
Dec 12, 2025
Best iteration of Lara Croft out there. Focused on character, going on wild adventures, an unexpected appearance of one of my special interests later in season 1, and any inkling of romance is light and well-handled, no seemingly obligatory male love interest that takes away from the heart of it. Love the character development in this show as well as the gorgeous animation.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft: Season 210

I already loved the first season and wasn't expecting the second to exceed it, but it managed to! Such a shame it was canceled. This is the best Lara Croft adaptation out there. So much promise, so much potential.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous10

This show has some of the best character work I've ever seen. It surpasses the movies by far. (Honestly, even Jurassic Park trilogy, though the original is still my favorite.) I cannot recommend this show enough. I include it in every franchise rewatch, which I do at least once a year (sometimes five.) And it's followed by a sequel series: Chaos Theory! So glad it's kept going as it's phenomenal and I prefer it to the films, even.

Agatha All Along: 1 Darkest Hour / Wake Thy Power10

Best episode yet! Unfortunately people talking about it being spoiled inherently spoiled it for others, so it wasn't as impactful as it would have been if people hadn't done that. But it was amazing and clever and so well done. This trial for this character was absolutely everything. The relationship dynamics and developments and [spoiler[ were so intense. Costume design on point and **** now on to the spoilery bit, This episode really focused on Agatha, and her power absorption as a defense mechanism rooted from her abusive mother was striking and provided a lot of insight into her character, regardless of how much other characters grasped this. Rio defending her every step of the way by providing insight, or at least some explanation, further builds upon their relationship as **** fun little details if you look at their bracelet color schemes too <3 <3.

I loved this episode. They continue to shine with their regular characters, continue to explore Athena and her past, and quickly establish the guest characters that are part of the plane event they are handling so far this season. I look forward to the next episode and how things go down (pun not intended.) It's also fun to see them poke fun at Hollywood productions and how they value (or ignore) accuracy in their portrayals.

Eat Your Out! That fourth episode was the best so far! I am loving the complex tapestry of characters. Every rewatch and new episode adds more depth and makes for a rich viewing experience. I can't say how things will go in future, but I love what the actors and such have said about it and enjoyed the premiere on Disney+ a great deal. Such engaging characters and a delightful cast. I've already watched multiple times If you like witches (inherently **** already) and a show that doesn't sensationalize marginalized identities, I think you'll like this one! This is a show embraces the characters without sensationalizing them and their identities are acknowledged as natural and a part of them. This show has a delightful cast (with delightful voices) that kept me engaged with the characters and their journeys. 10/10 from me so far! Can't wait for more! (Also, i'm pretty sure they censored my heart emoji and reference to LGBTQ+ people so if some grammar looks off, that's why.)
