Terrible on so many different levels. Unlikable broody for no particular reason Tarzan, feminist appealing unrealistic Jane. Completely screwed up timeline. Boring love affair with no chemistry between actors.

Bobby Fisher is not nearly the best chess player nor worthy of the multitudinous movies about him sheerly as he is an uninteresting character. Just not that interesting.

Will Smith's terrible accent is laughable and makes you embarrassed by proxy not to mention that the entire narrative is well known by pretty much everyone. No point to watch.

Spoken in old English which is difficult at best to understand. Follows the play too closely and misses as a "followable" story. The motives of the characters are lost and the movie becomes painfully boring and monotonous.

Utter garbage. This woman is a one trick pony. "I'm a chubby girl and I am promiscuous." That's all any of her stories are about and it's so damn boring! WE GET IT! Not one bit of cleverness to be found. Comedians are just as lame as Hollywood when it comes to obsessing on the latest shtick.

The trailer is a HUGE deception in that it makes the film out to be uplifting whereas in truth this is typical Kaufman misery. The movie shows the quiet desperation of loneliness and offers no redemption in return. If it wasn't for the beautiful puppetry, I would say it is a complete waste of time.

Unconvincing character relationships underscoring a boring plot, plastic acting, terrible soundtrack and unbelievably historically inaccurate tech makes for a soul less movie that only wins on production quality thanks to a big budget. A complete waste of time.

Not without merit but reviews of this film are again an example of an industry that celebrates itself. The story is just plain uninteresting and never gains any emotional involvement from the viewer as the protagonist is confused even in his own role.

If the mere subject of a film demands good reviews and accolades, the responding critics are nothing more than sycophants. I failed to appreciate anything exceptional about this movie. Over acted by all the participants and plasticly formulaic in it's tempo and imagery. Don't believe the hype indeed.

This film reminds me of Drive with Ryan Gosling that was misunderstood by most but was an superb film. It is tense and beautifully acted by virtually every player. I think most of the narrow minded sub intelligent viewers who disliked the film were hoping for more explosions, having not had their fill with the pathetic Expendables franchise. What you'll find here is passionate acting, a gripping story line and an amazing score. Bravo.

It's difficult until the very end to see if there is a comedic rationale for the plentiful gore. If you're annoyed but unanswered questions, this movie will disappoint. But the acting is superb and the story suspenseful enough to keep you engaged.

Artistic and hyper-violent, but pointlessly slow to the point of predictability and in the end empty and without redemption. etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

this movie was beyond bad. awful stereotyped characters, poor editing, weak story line. i have never seen such a disparity between scores and actually how terrible the movie was.

a black and white animation? WTF? b/c they wanted it to be noir? i'm sure children appreciate that. stupid movie, waste of time from a one trick pony of a director.

ok phoenix is pretty awesome as an actor but the plot is grotesquely pointless and you will be cheated out of nearly 3 hours of your life if you watch this literally plotless movie.

puh-leez, this movie was not that good. won the oscars because the industry is a scene that celebrates itself. the movie was average and uncompelling. ben afleck is about as talented an actor as keanu reeves.

this is going to sound racist but the cast is numerous and many of them look so much alike that the story gets confusing. only watch if you're asian.

quite possibly the dullest and most boring waste of time. the first 10 minutes of the movie is the exact same as every minute that comes after, senseless and dispassionate. undeserving of any consideration and evidence that critics are morons.

visually pleasing and a not all together unpleasing 2 hour distraction, but FAR from a masterpiece. characters are two dimensional and their interactions are unbelievable. ben kingsley's portrayal is unconvincing and sasha baron cohen is plain terrible. if it wasn't for the high production value, this movie would be merit-less.

No mystery or suspense. The first half of the movie is a nicely directed character study. The second half, an uncompelling mediocre series of uncreative violence scenes. Leaves you wanting your 90 minutes back.

the most depressing movie i have seen in a long time. if you want to see a guy be depressed for 90 minutes and have his heart torn out of his ass, this is the movie for you.

better than restrepo but still a bore to watch. i'm sure the experience of war is harrowing but these documentaries are not. just like restrepo it shows a bunch of stereotypical military guys with superior training and weapons than their enemy, walking around accidentally killing livestock and the occasional civilian. inevitably they kill a few taliban and an IED blows up someone, but nothing changes. there's no sense of accomplishment. it plays out like nothing more than a pointless job, like working at mcdonalds.

Hauntingly beautiful and cruel. Nothing about this movie is obvious but it is gripping throughout. like any good movie you develop hopes for the characters and even though they might not come true, you respect the artfulness of the story you're told.

entertaining, interesting, keeps your attention. critics **** because they pay attention to things that don't matter. if you want to watch a movie that's fun and fast paced, this is a good one. it's not earth **** but it's definitely worth your time if you like action thrillers.

i have no idea what the critics are talking about. this movie is for people who enjoyed the passion of the christ. it is horribly slow and uninteresting. and to top it off it's depressing too. really no need to watch this unless you're super christian and into boring movies.

soldiers die and governments try to make them into heroes. whats so shocking about that? what baffles me is that you sign up to go fight in a war, you get killed, and then people make the death out to be more tragic than any other death. war = tragic. nothing new here, move on.

a well made movie but seriously haven't we heard this all before and done nothing about it? wall street and the top one percent of the wealthy have rigged the system to screw the the rest of us. oh, and washington's in on it. depressing.

By far one of the weakest recent animation films. The story is predictable and the script is banal without a hint of cleverness. Great for 10 year olds and Disney sycophants.

Quite honestly one of the most boring and pointless films you will ever see. You will hate ever minute of it's pointless meandering plot. This is a movie that critics and film academics have to enjoy to be allowed to attend each other's wine parties.

There are far better horse movies to be seen than this. This is a watered down Disney flick that lacks any grit or conflict. A horse from known winning blood lines, owned by rich people that wins virtually all his races. So? If you want to see an excellent horse movie, watch Phar Lap or The Black Stallion.

Yet another movie that can't figure out if it's action, comedy, or drama and winds up doing none of them well. This was obviously purely a venture for making money from an 80's icon. Unentertaining and and soulless.

Huge fan of the Coens but this film is an ineffectual copy of the original classic. The story line is barely changed and for the worse i must say. There is no chemistry of kinship between any of the over acting actors who all fall prey to the pitfall of their own **** or that of the directors.

This movie will shock you. It becomes evident after seeing it that it is really only a matter of time before the wrong people get their hands on fissile material. I really don't understand the negative reviews because the movie doesn't try to prove anything. It just shows how much uranium/ plutonium is out there and reviews well documented occurrences which it's nearly fallen into the wrong hands.

This movie is just boring. If you realize that war **** because people die, you wont see or feel anything new. Movie critics walk on egg shells around the subject of dead soldiers, but it doesn't make it an interesting documentary.
