Into the Breach9

This is a really good turn-based tactics & puzzle-strategy game, it's pretty unique and worth a try for anyone into these types of games.

It's a fun little RTS! Not too complicated but the higher difficulties take some patience, skill and luck. Honestly a decent little game to scratch the casual RTS itch.

Northgard8

It's certainly a unique RTS, I haven't played anything like it. It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it, doesn't require too difficult micro or macro skills but focused more on your villages and settlements, resources to reach a win condition. It's like a more accessible 4x on a smaller scale. I had fun though.

Democracy 36

It's not exactly realistic, although it certainly tries to be. Then again, who really knows with politics? Fun to experiment with a few whacky ideas but it does get old trying to keep track of how decisions affect every little thing.

Quake III Arena9

It's a classic arena shooter, one of the greatest ever! Super fun jumping around, the weapons are amazing (as expected from a Quake/id game), lots of mods to play around with too.

It's a fun racing game, sick atmosphere and soundtrack. I did find controlling the car frustrating on some levels though, given it has 6 degrees of freedom.

Monster Train8

If you like Slay the Spire, you'd love this. It's quite different but satisfies that itch, this time you're the dungeon! You defend your train with different classes, I found it quite fun.

Spec Ops: The Line8

A basic but fun third-person shooter. The storytelling is also iconic. It's not revolutionary but definitely leaves a lasting impact. Unfortunately the multiplayer achievements are impossible given it's dead though.

Firestone: Online Idle RPG1
Nov 15, 2024
It's an okay idle game but very pay-to-win and they constantly mess around with new servers. There's a lot to do but it's all filler content that takes no strategizing nor are some mechanics clear on what they actually do.

Pretty fun speedrunning obstacle game, not the best I've played but pretty fun and lots of levels.

An extremely fun tower-defense style puzzle strategy, it's a classic worth trying out.

Bloons TD 65
Nov 15, 2024
It's a decent game, but I personally prefer other TD games. There's some good depth to this but the art style and gameplay elements can be slightly nauseating after a while. It's a great cheap title that can offer you a lot, but it's not for me.

Dragon Age: Origins9
Nov 15, 2024
One of, if not the, greatest RPGs I've played. The atmosphere is dark, you can play a character of various moral alignments and it really feels like you're creating your own adventure and impacting the world. The gameplay is a bit 'old-school' but I enjoyed it. The characters are very well-written. This is definitely the greatest Dragon Age game in the franchise, unfortunately with each passing release the parts that made this game special withered away.

Kingdom Rush9

I know it's only a port of a mobile game, but it's a really good little tower defence. It has a good selection of heroes, fun achievements, and both the towers and levels are great.

Destiny 25
Nov 15, 2024
Destiny has some of the best gunplay of any shooter I've ever played. It also incorporates some slight RPG elements to elevate the gameplay loop, but it often misses the mark here, being repetitive along with its missions. Unfortunately, Linux users are also blocked from playing on Steam so it loses a few points for me. Otherwise, it's worth a try - nothing amazing, but not bad either.

Portal 29

One of the greatest puzzle platformers of all time. I enjoyed the dialogue and puzzles. A few of the tricky ones can be annoying but it definitely succeeds in making you feel like a fool when you work out the solution lol

Neon White10

This has some of the most satisfying gameplay I've had the fortune of trying out. I usually don't like to speedrun, but this game really makes it fun. It's a hybrid puzzle platformer shooter that goes FAST and has card elements. It's extremely exciting to improve your times every run and find new routes. The soundtrack by Machine Girl is also phenomenal and complements the gameplay well. The art is nice and the story is decent imo, the writing is a bit cheesy but it's part of the fun and doesn't detract at all for me. I only wish there was a level editor so I could play endless levels!

This is one of the all-time greatest games for me. Absolutely fun and highly re-playable at your own pace. Simple graphics, but they do the job. The characters are varied, I only wish there was more. At least there's mods, though.

World of Warcraft9
Nov 15, 2024
Peak WoW, fun MMORPG where it's all about the adventure. Can spend hours just traveling the lands with the ambience and OST in the background. The end-game is spectacle, nothing too exciting, and there's some outdated mechanics but it's a fun world to be in.

Shenmue III1

I don't understand the appeal of this game, it is completely horrible with a myriad of problems. First of all, the gameplay is so boring and repetitive. They just throw one gimmick after another at you and you grind away with frustrating controls and the combat system is so outdated that I'm ashamed to even call it a combat system. The models and animations are so barebones and basic, the lack of interactions break any hope of immersion you had. The voice-acting is also horrible, everyone sounds like they are dying inside and soul-less. The dialogue didn't help either as many of the lines between characters make no sense, was this game even made for English audiences? It sounds like a really poor translation attempt. It's just so damn cringey! The story is so bland I had to ask myself if anything worthwhile was happening in this game. All in all, this was the most garbage game I've played in a long time with no redeeming qualities.
