AEW: Fight Forever0

Slow, clunky, the career mode is bare bones and there’s nothing to do on the game. I paid £15 for it and Microsoft approved my refund straight away. Please don’t buy this game!

Possibly slightly better than the first game, with a great atmosphere and the legendary ending.

One of my favourite games, way ahead of its time and a great story to go along with it.

Okay but not great. You can tell EA are involved with this game, their fingerprints are all over it with additional currency called Pitcoin and questionable design choices throughout the game. Career mode is decent but no replay value whatsoever.

Project CARS 28

Best entry in the Project Cars franchise. Decent car selection and challenging difficulty. This game is much better with a wheel!

Need for Speed Heat1

Uninspiring, with horrendous car handling and physics. As an experienced racing gamer this was unintuitive to play, beyond arcadey to the point where it didn’t feel like driving a car.

I enjoyed this, very fun game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Wish more shooters had this fun vibe!

Need for Speed Unbound2

Great looking game with anime style visuals, but the car physics and handling are horrible. Sadly not a patch on the NFS heyday of Underground and Underground 2. No cockpit camera in a current gen game is absolute madness.

Pokemon Scarlet7

An open world main entry Pokemon game was always the dream when I was younger, so I do love Pokemon Scarlet. It is buggy though and in handheld the game doesn’t run that smoothly! Open world means that you can tackle the gym leaders in any order, though that’s not recommended as they don’t scale based on your Pokémon’s level so there is still an order that needs to be followed. A promising start to the open world style of Pokemon which will surely be refined when the Switch 2 is released.

eFootball 20256

Decent game that gets boring quickly because there’s essentially only one mode. This game could desperately do with some Master League which I’d happily pay for. Much better than when the original eFootball released though!

Gran Turismo 78

Good game that has longevity when it comes to online racing. The racing is cleaner than Forza Motorsport, and the car models are levels above FM too. GT7 suffers from a poor campaign mode, but there is a lot of other stuff to do. For console online racing if you are a controller user, this is the game to get.

The best game of all time! The story is perfect and the game has stood the test of time.

Trials Rising4
Jan 19, 2025
Similar to Trials Fusion but with a more realistic aesthetic. University of Trials tutorials are useful as there aren’t really any proper tutorials in Fusion. Not having access to proper triggers on the Switch makes this harder to play than the PS/Xbox versions. Long loading times make this game unbearable to play.

Good game but not enough content (unless you want to pay for it). Difficult in the later stages of the game but that’s also what gives the game that addictive feeling.

EA Sports WRC8
Jan 19, 2025
Fun rally game reminiscent of Dirt Rally, and a decent car selection too with some really obscure vehicles that you don’t see in other games like the Opel Adam. Doesn’t feel like an EA game in the same way the F1 series does, probably because WRC is very niche. But it’s better for it!

Assetto Corsa Competizione8
Jan 19, 2025
The best racing game currently available on Xbox if you want to race cleanly online. I think it looks better than Forza Motorsport and the online racing is competitive if you know what you’re doing. This game is not for casual players and you will need a wheel to get the most out of the game. You can use the stick forward method if you use a controller, but wheel is recommended.

Forza Horizon 49
Jan 19, 2025
The best FH game! The map is a perfect representation of what it’s like to drive in the UK (especially the rural areas) and car selection is top tier. I personally think this game is better than FH5 because of the ranked online racing and more varied map. Graphics are amazing for the time, and still look great today.

Forza Horizon 58

Brilliant game that has given me over 1,000 hours of entertainment! Excellent car selection and a decent sized map even if it is a little samey in places. Festival playlist is a great way to keep the game fresh and unlock new cars every week. I’ve stopped playing now but only because I feel like I’ve done everything to do in the game over a two and a half year period. Would have been a 9 if the DLC maps were connected to the main map, and I also feel the game is quite easy even on the higher difficulty settings.

The Crew Motorfest8
Jan 19, 2025
Really good alternative to Forza Horizon 5 with a brilliant map. Good selection of cars and lots of replay value, and for cruising around I feel like this game is top tier. Ever since they patched in the rear view and wing mirrors the game is fun to play using cockpit cam. The new island makes the map even bigger and I think I would honestly recommend this over FH5 as it’s a fresher game. The worst thing is the always online component which is why I’ve gone for an 8 rather than a 9.

Forza Motorsport2
Jan 19, 2025
The worst entry in the FM franchise. Cars feel heavy and understeery, career mode is boring and because the game is marketed at casual players on game pass there is no racing etiquette online. Anyone that wants to race online properly plays ACC, iRacing and even GT7. Gran Turismo Sport makes you watch a video about racing etiquette before you can race online, this game should have done something similar. Penalties aren’t harsh enough which renders them almost pointless, it would be fairer if it was similar to GT Sport and GT7 where there is a zone where the offender is automatically slowed down. Car models are sometimes very inaccurate because the developers used assets from the Xbox 360 era, despite claiming the game was ‘built from the ground up’. Hard to recommend this!

UFL1

Really poor! It’s pay to win which contradicts its tagline of ‘fair to play’, and progression is really slow because payouts for each match are stingy. It looks like a mobile game and feels clunky to play. eFootball is a better free to play football game even if it is pay to win like this one. The only positive is that was easy to pick up and play because of the familiar controls.
