It has excellent graphics; visually, it's a marvel. The sound is very polished, and the gameplay and mechanics are among the best I've experienced in those aspects, significantly better than the first game. However, the script feels forced, designed to generate controversy, and lacks empathy with the player, as if you were watching a movie when you're really just looking to have fun, connect with the characters, and enjoy a video game. It's like making a Ted Bundy game and expecting the player to empathize with him by showing the abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of women, his mother, etc., just to justify what he did. I had heard that Joel died, but I never imagined it would be in such an unempathetic and unpleasant way for the player, especially considering the events that follow in the game. As a film/series, the script is brilliant; as a video game, it's a failure.

Excellent atmosphere, diverse environments, many customizable weapons, varied bosses and NPCs—one of the most visually and graphically beautiful games I've ever played. The combat system isn't the best; the parrying mechanic isn't as well implemented as I'd hoped, though it's still very good. The script and narrative are very well done; I didn't like the ending, but overall the script is excellent. It has many elements inspired by Bloodborne, Sekiro, Dark Souls, and other games, with Bloodborne being the most notable, especially in its visual and narrative details. The bosses are very challenging, and after playing the base version and almost finishing it, I understand why they nerfed it. The green swamp monster in the base version was not well designed and was extremely difficult to defeat without perfectly memorizing each of its attacks or throwing projectiles at **** of the most difficult games I've played in its original version, but also very rewarding. 8.8/10

The combat system and game environment are repetitive, as are the NPCs. The best battles take place in the final part of the game; the repetitive gorilla combat feels unnecessary. The final boss fights are truly epic and make the experience more rewarding. I feel the difficulty starts off very high for someone without experience in games featuring parry mechanics—it seems somewhat unbalanced to me. Overall, it is a great game that deserves the Game of the Year title, even if the balance is a bit off.

Boring and slow gameplay, a zombie game with little action. The story unfolds slowly in an apocalyptic world with elements similar to Resident Evil, but with less action and more stealth.
