I had the impression this show was mainly aimed at kids, and not very well-liked in general, so I was surprised to find I actually enjoyed it. I like the small scale and focus on one station, the lack of epic conflicts and Jedi. Unlike with Rebels, the stormtroopers actually seem menacing instead of just hapless cannon fodder. It paints a convincing picture of what it's like for one small corner of the galaxy to live under the looming tyranny of the First Order. I prefer it to all the sequel era movies. It's also quite funny, in a "bad things keep happening to the protagonist, because he is a massive ****" kind of way. Admittedly some people might find that sort of thing annoying, if you are one of those people then I'd advise against watching it.
