NBA 2K210

Unless you like MyTeam, there is no reason to get this game. 2K21 is literally the exact same game as 2K20 but with a really dumb shot meter, some cosmetic changes, and a few new features in MyTeam (the mode where you give 2K your money to be decent). Especially with the next-gen games coming soon, and because your MyPlayer badge and attribute progression doesn't transfer over, there is literally no reason for anyone to get the current-gen NBA 2K21... again, unless you like giving 2K more of your money through MyTeam. Without the competition most sports games don't feel the need to try harder. We can see this with Madden NFL for the past several years now, and over the past couple years, NBA2K has been on the same mediocre level due to lack of competition. Don't buy this game in protest of 2K! it isn't fair that they try to rob millions of people every year. Here's to hoping NBA Live (the EA game) makes a comeback, or 2K21 on next-gen is a much better experience.

The Last of Us Part II10
Jun 19, 2020
The game is great. There is nothing else like it, and it is a must play. 10/10. I dislike some of the decisions that important characters make, but you can empathize with their decisions as the story progresses. I couldn't disagree with the majority of people giving this game a score of 2 or lower more, about the characters and story, I don't think it's a complete mess at all, and it doesn't forget about what was built within the first game either. I won't spoil anything for anyone, but the decisions made by the characters are JUSTIFIED even if I don't personally agree that it's a route they SHOULD have taken. The point is that the story is so well crafted and nuanced that as the player, you come to an understanding during the game that the routes these characters take, COULD possibly happen to someone under the same circumstances. It's a dark turn, but it's not an illogical leap. For the negative reviewers to call this game "a pitiful revenge story" "filled with unlikable characters" "decisions that are ridiculous and unbelievable" Is a massive overstep, and I really believe that those people missed the whole point of the story, the character's development (or devolution), and the many reasons to empathize with them, while also not forgiving them for their decisions, but also still being able to appreciate a well told story supported by superb yet conflicting moments of raw emotion. There has never been a game like this before, it is one of a kind, and it is a gaming gem of this generation. The sad part is that it will forever be misunderstood and underappreciated for various factors, mostly because of the die hard community of fans that had their own expectations of what this game should have been. Too bad they couldn't realize that it was never up to them, and that the direction the developers went in told a compelling story, that is still believable, and that is poignant and brutally sad and beautiful simultaneously. I don't think I'll be playing this game again, maybe ever. But I'll never forget it.

The Outer Worlds7
Jun 11, 2020
The Outer Worlds has most of what you loved about games like Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas, with a few added upgrades, but also a few faults too. Firstly, the game is beautiful, but load times happen too often and take too long (playing on a vanilla OG PS4), The map is really bare with few details, and things like where and how you access fast travel locations and other map info is awkward and archaic. You can't set multiple quests as active like you can in Skyrim and Fallout, which is really annoying if you're someone like me who does side-quests in bulk, and then likes to turn them all in one after another. Occasionally I will experience a bug, but the game is no-where like Fallout 76 was at one point. To elaborate further, standard buggy stuff like, the room sound fx not loading with the rest of the location, getting glitched into a mountainside or something when you drop into the wrong spot, etc. but like I said, overall it's very rare that you'll experience any of that. I hate that you can't swim or climb up mountains, or really any kind of hill or incline. The game makers clearly want you to stay on the path, and play a slightly more "linear type open-world". You weren't supposed to be able to climb the mountains in Skyrim, but you could do it if you really wanted to; and sometimes you want to climb over something in Outer Worlds to cut travel in half, and it looks like an obstacle that you could easily conquer in Skyrim, but you won't get up one inch in Outer Worlds. It's something that was very frustrating for me at first, but once you learn the limitations that the game has set for you, you get used to it and you adapt to a certain way that they want you to play the game, and that's not necessarily bad. The narrative tends to go on too long and get over-indulgent, within awkward areas of the plot, of pretty much any and most quests. The writing tries to be funny too often for me, and even though you have the choice of a string of dialog that leads you away from that, it's still written there and wants to be considered a viable option. Do you like compiling endless amounts of junk, modding and breaking down weapons for parts to repeat the whole process? then you'll enjoy this game. There is a lot of that. There are a number of fun things to do with leveling up and applying perks, and a flaw, that I will not go into because I think that it spoils some of the game, but it's definitely a fun and rewarding way to level up and progress your character throughout the game. I think that the combat is quite easy, even on the hard setting. There is a hardcore mode, but I don't want to play as a survivalist, (have to sleep to heal limbs, eat and drink often etc.) that's just not my thing. I guess a lot of what I wrote was negative, but you can see that I still gave the game a 7/10, and didn't highlight more of the positives within the game. I did that because all of the positives are things that you would find in games like Bioshock, Skyrim, and Fallout 3/New Vegas/4 to name some, and if you liked those games, almost certainly you are going to find The Outer Worlds is a game worth playing. At the time of me writing this review, the game is $29.99 on the PS Store if you have PSPlus. Go try it out, it's definitely worth playing if you liked playing those games I mentioned above, just don' expect it to be better in every way, or even most.

Streets of Rage 48

I wish the game had a slightly faster pace, the music doesn't fit the atmosphere very well and it's pretty forgettable as a whole, but by in large those are the only two things that I dislike about this game. The combo and special system is nice. It still drains life if you use a special, but you can gain it all back if you continue to combo enemies and maintain not getting hit, it's a simple addition to the SOR series, but it's a really nice one! and It allows strategy to widely open. 4 player local is a bit too much, but the 2 payer multiplayer is fun and is really where the replayability lies for me; after you've beaten the story and arcade modes and have tested out all of the characters of course. This is SOR, if you like beatem'ups then go play. 8.5/10

Death Stranding9

As you should expect, people with short attention-spans aren't liking the game. screw them. If you like enduring travels on beautifully crafted and often dangerous terrain, an amazing story that gets better and better as you progress, but you don't mind a slower pace; which I believe makes everything much better, then get this game. I'm not giving it a 10/10 because the combat is kinda meh, and a couple other things too, but they're so minor that it really doesn't matter or take away much from the entirety of this Death Stranding's greatness.

The gameplay is the best it's ever been. The pace and speed of the game is great, it took me some getting used to, but I love it now after a couple weeks in. Off-ball stuff and running plays are miles better. The AI can be dumb at times though. My favorite mode, Myleague, is worse off than it was last year. No improvements made, just new issues upon old issues that weren't addressed. Mycareer still has an awful story, although not nearly as cringy as the past few years, but the cringe can still get real intense. Neighborhood is almost exactly the same. Lots of small issues, like the player card being too small to read, not being able to see another players details by hovering over their name and clicking R3... I don't want to go on, there are a lot of little things like that. WNBA is really fun to play, but it's only available in PlayNow ._. **** Myteam. That **** **** ass in every single way possible. Overall the game is pretty good, just way too many bugs, not a lot of updates besides the ones made to gameplay, but those updates were good so... meh, I'm not that pissed about it.

This game is buggy. Numerous people couldn't (and still can't) even play the game because of server errors which require people to open certain ports within your routers settings. MyCareer is filled with bugs/glitches, some of which have been patched, but just for an example, your agent Bryan's text messages can be inaccessible for some, and when you try to open them, the game will freeze. This means that endorsements cannot be applied to your MyPlayer. The Neighborhood is a dumb novelty that I feel subtracts to the park experience. You have to travel if you want to buy or equip something instead of going into a menu to access it quickly. The court view, which in the last 2 years was able to be accessed by holding a trigger button; and then you would see your actual player on the same court just top down and zoomed much father out, now has to be pressed with the right shoulder button, but you can't see your player anymore! now you get a green dot, and moving to the next available court by just watching this screen is way too hard to maneuver around because the directions are different! completely **** choice there 2k. Alley-oops to teammates are absolutely broken in online/offline modes, but mostly for online. They changed the setup so that you have to start throwing an alley a lot sooner than you did last year. Good luck if you want to thrown an alley to a teammate who's in the middle of the key, or directly under the basket. The actual "story" (I use that term very loosely) in MyCareer is amazingly weak. It's filled with annoying characters who contribute to the most self-indulgent and pointless story I've ever seen in MyCareer; and guess what? you can't skip any cutscenes, even if you're playing with a 2nd MyPlayer and you've already seen all of the same cutscenes with your first MyPlayer. MyLeague/GM adds different coaching system, and with that, players proficiency within whatever system; but you can't change a players system proficiency, or even see which player fits with your system unless you are signing someone from the free agency pool. This is extremely frustrating when scouting/drafting or trading for players because you can't see if they would fit the system that you like to run. Gameplay is good. It's not great in any one area, but overall it's pretty good. The passing is improved, and I love the hold pass button to throw passes to teammates who are farther away. CPU AI defense is more difficult than last year, but it doesn't bother me as some have said. Contact dunks are much better and feel painful when you get someone or get got yourself. I like the changes to the shot meter, which is now to the left of the players head, and has customisable colors. Content creation is the same as last year, the only addition is that you can make custom shirts that can be voted on in MyCareer to be added to the store to buy with VC... VC... oh yeah... VC... They added dual archetypes to MyPlayer's and it definitely adds for a more customisable experience, but good luck leveling up. This year the grind is absurd. Do you like to spend a bunch of money to upgrade your MyPlayer, MyTeam, MyLeague/GM? if you do, this game was made for you. The cost of everything in this game is ludicrous. Myteam packs go for anywhere between 4,000 VC to 12,500 VC (higher than last year) attribute points in MyCareer are about 5x more expensive than last year, and the accessories?!!? boy you better be rich, much more expensive than last year. A pair of plain shorts can cost you upwards of 5,000 VC. On top of all of that, the game is amazingly stingy with the amount of VC you can earn from park games and career games, so it really makes you want to go into that store and dish out $100 for some extra VC. To summerize, basically it's the same game as last year with a few cosmetic changes; the new passing (which is good), a dumb MyCareer story that can't be skipped, and a MyPark that is all flash but actually very annoying for a variety of reasons. VC is astoundingly front and center, hard to come by without spending actual money, and overall is vastly overpriced. Dual archetypes is nice for MyPlayer, but the grind is a bit too much for someone who doesn't buy VC. Overall a pretty weak entry into the NBA2k lineup, and considering everything that I mentioned up above, I'm going to grade it a [light to decent 5/10] [C-]

Mafia III7
Oct 11, 2016
The story in Mafia 3 is very well written, the characters are well played; and the soundtrack is impressive, not only using very popular and memorable tunes, but also some obscure songs that really set the tone in certain scenes. The shooting mechanics are standard (nothing special), and the same goes for the cover system, which are definitely not broken. I played on hard with no aim assist, and the shooting/cover gameplay was pretty good throughout, nothing that glaringly bad or awkward to complain about, and nothing that great or unique to give high praise. The driving (on land) is a bit heavy and can feel awkward especially in the beginning of the game, but once I set the driving option to "simulation" in the pause menu, and changed the camera view to inside of the car overlooking the hood, I got accustom to it pretty quickly and didn't have many problems there on out. Boats are a different story. They tend to be too loose when turning, and too much damage can happen way to easily. Driving in boats is a big "meh". There is a lot to do in the game besides the main story. I enjoy collecting old Playboy and Hotrod magazines from the 60's, and that level of novelty is a perfect addition to help you stray from the monotony of busting up rackets/hideouts when you're not playing the main story. This game is glitchy. and I'm sure that you've read this already (and rightfully so) because again, THIS GAME IS GLITCHY! I've had my game crash about five to ten times while playing it, but I never lost any real progress because of the autosaving. I can see it being frustrating if you're right in the middle of a long story mission with no autosave, and then you crash and you have to start over. There are also graphical glitches in the game. Sometimes when changing from gameplay to cutscene and back to gameplay, you'll notice that the lighting on the characters can get very bright and stay like that for a minute or two. I've seen cars spin out randomly, people walk on the air, and other minor glitches that you wouldn't see in a polished game. If you're on the fence about getting this game because of the glitches, wait another month or so, and hopefully a patch or two will address these issues. Glitches like these usually get fixed, and I would say in this games case there is a high probability that they will be fixed because it's a game by a big company in 2K. Overall Mafia 3 was a fun game with a great story, mediocre shooting/driving, and a glitchy/buggy experience throughout (even though I would say that the glitches/bugs are not game-breaking). If the game doesn't ever get patched to fix the glitches/bugs then I would give this game a 5/10 If the bugs were addressed, and I didn't have to take them into consideration because they're not effecting gameplay, then I would give this game a 7.5/10 as for right now with the way the full game is I'll give it a 6.5/10 (rounding up to 7/10 using metacritic ratings)
