Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening10
Aug 15, 2013
This is better than the original game. Very damn good. It almost made me believe that this is not a Bioware game at all. It's that good. If you bought DAO and liked it you should definitely buy this expansion pack. Also, don't buy Dragon Age 2. They screwed it up big time. It's like they listened to the people who liked DAO and then did everything just the opposite way.

Dragon Age: Origins9

A very good RPG. I don't like how Bioware makes its games for teen boys when it comes to women, sex and the dialogue in general. In DAO that stuff is sufficiently out of the way so that it doesn't get in the way of gaming. I'd rather have a world like that in Witcher instead of Bioware's classic good vs evil with large breasted women and huge spiky armors. Nevertheless, DAO was good. Definitely the best game Bioware has ever produced and looking at the horror that was Dragon's Age 2 and how they "developed" Mass Effect downhill through the series it is safe to say that DAO will be their best game ever.

Fallout: New Vegas10

Shares my top spot of best game ever with Fallout 3. Simply amazing. Great character development, great story, many ways to play, post apocalyptic world etc. Can't hope for much more. Load times are long, yes. Some bugs exist, yes. Who cares when the game is simply brilliant.

Best game ever. Well perhaps shared top spot with Fallout New Vegas. Great character development, massive amount of great content, post apocalyptic setup and various ways to play. What else can you hope from a game?

Fallout 23

I guess I should have played this when it came out to appreciate it. I bought it just recently because I loved Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. It's just too much of a chore to play. I also hate the gun play in the games of this era (FO Tactics, Jagged Alliance 1&2, etc) where your guys can't hit anything they are not standing next to. It **** immersion out **** when your guys is 5 meter away with a machinegun and doesn't hit once.

Much too hyped I think. It's an ok game for sure and back in the day I'm sure it was better, I just got to play this recently which is odd as I'm old for a gamer and have played D&D games since the 80s on computer. This has more or less all the downsides of Bioware games I can think of. Pretty much a hack'n slash rather than a role playing game.

Pretty for an iPad game. That's all the good there is in it. Short and boring. The people comparing this to Skyrim on iPad either haven't played Skyrim or have been paid to say such nonsense. Unfortunately I bought into the hype and bought the game. Don't make the same mistake.

A rather good try to remake Master of Orion for tablets. Would be a 10/10 if the game would be at least a bit challenging. Unfortunately it is way too easy and the tech tree is rather short.

Dead Space (2008)5
Jul 21, 2013
One word review: boring. If your idea of fun is to wander around areas shooting identical enemies with identical weapons then Dead space is for you. I bought it because I was told that it is very very scary and the person in question can't play much of it at one go. He clearly needs help with his issues. Scary isn't the first word that comes to mind for me. Boring is.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown9
Jul 21, 2013
Dumbed down from the original but pretty good still. I wonder why these days you always got to have classes in games. Even in the ones that try to be "realistic" like XCOM. In real life soldiers can't take a bullet in the gut regardless of their rank or experience. They can also carry more than one grenade. They can also choose to use what ever weapons they like. Overall a very nice remake of an old classic with some very annoying features.

Bought this because of the hype. That was a mistake. It's not a bad game, but it's not very good or interesting either. It's like Deus Ex with steampunk and without the possibility of playing it the way you want. Teleporting around stabbing the same guard in the back hundreds of times gets old pretty fast. The story wasn't interesting either. Can't understand why people hyped this mediocre game.

Dragon Age II6
Jul 21, 2013
Dragon age: Origins was pretty great. The sequel has been dumbed down to be an action game with automatic healing and enemies appearing out of thin air. A sad example of what happens when studios try to go for a broader audience. Don't know if that worked here but at least RPG fans were disappointed.

BioShock Infinite5

Loved Bioshock and Bioshock 2 and thus had big expectations on this. Was totally disappointed. Long but boring. Repetitive battles and enemies. After the first third or so I was just hoping it to finish already. Also autosaving **** bad.

Finally got to play this through. I started it quite a long time ago and after completing the training part and part of the first real mission I quit. I didn't hate it but I had better games at hand then. Started it again and boy was my first impression wrong. It seems that has happened to many others as well. This was and is a truly great game and has tons of replay value due to various courses you can take with your decisions. If you like RPGs this is definitely a great game. If you expect it to be a shooter, you're going to be disappointed. I actually created a profile on Metacritic just to rate this game as it definitely is totally an underrated gem. Too bad they are not going to make a sequel.
