Hades10

I know this has probably been done a thousand times here but I feel like I was late the the Hades party (mainly bc I stopped buying games for nintendo since my switch fan sounds like an f1 jet and i don't feel like sending it in for repair...) Hades was a great experience from start to finish and I just wanted to mention some things I really appreciated with the game design. The perfect rogue-lite mechanic. The idea of starting over each time you die into another random set of rooms has never bothered me in the genre. However it wasn't until Hades that I realized no other game has come close to make sense of this mechanic and master it the way Hades does. Without too many spoilers, you die and end up in the Underworld, because that's where you go when you die. Then, you try to escape the Underworld again. It's a simple nuance but I thought it made the replay-ability SO much better and more worth it, because it gave . Greek Mythology. I don't know if it's my ignorance, although it probably is, but Greek mythology has become a massive interest of mine because of this game. A lot of the dialogues (voice acted) had me thinking "wow, I feel like that too" which is one of my favorite feelings when i play any game, and connects me to the story even deeper. There's humor, life lessons, and the history of greek mythology all intertwined with the game to give an epic storyline that just engages and entertains whoever's playing even more. The storyline. Not just the story, but how it's implemented. I mean I don't know personally if it's been done before, but I thought it was GENIUS. You get a bit of the story - a piece of the puzzle - with every play through. I'm not sure how many more I have until I know everything about the protagonist but the way the game is designed makes you want to go back for more IMMEDIATELY, just to learn more about the story. I really thought that was a genius move by Supergiant. All of this is without even mentioning the boons, fighting mechanics, and other great parts of this game. But something in the designs mentioned above had me blown away by this game. I've laughed at dialog's between myself and Hermes or Dionysus... cried from the story... and smiled from my success, all in the same run. It truly is a special game I will be recommending to everyone.

Mario Tennis Aces10

I think the game isn’t getting enough credit. People are making it seem wayyy worse than it actually is, let’s not forget COD is coming out without a story mode. People who played previous Mario tennis games seem a lil over entitled. The gameplay is amazing, I mean Nintendo’s addition of trick shots and zone shots and zone speeed.... ingenuity at its finest, what sick rallies I’ve been having online, so what there’s a lack of story, and no depiction of a power stone... omg how could they!! /s and the lack of customization, it probably helps load times a lot, which there are basically none of. You can still play the game you want with friends albeit the court chosen is pseudo random. My complaint is that the lob shot is a little busted. Sometimes it won’t charge at all prior to a shot, and sometimes it will charge after the ball has already flown by me. Also the MM thing people are talking about. Ranked MM is always better, yes you have to beat the best to be the best and blah blah, but you should have to go up in the rankings to even get to that point. I thought that was MM 101 at this point but then again it is Nintendo. My rant is that a 76 on metacritic is not what this game deserves and the lack of good reviews will equate to a lack of sales which will equate to a lack of response from the devs. The game is amazing!!! Best sports game on switch. Smooth gameplay and insane rallies.

I won't even talk about the graphics as we all know what to expect in terms of down grade on the switch. Gameplay wise, it's Doom, Doom Doom and Doom, in a new setting/location. I played through the entire game on hard mode and it was thoroughly entertaining, if you liked Doom you'll probably like this one equally. The story; I'm shocked to read reviews saying it was too long or bad etc, it was one of the few times i didnt mind long cut scenes in a shooter. The story is compelling and hits home for a lot of people with it's connection to social issues. The only downside I had was the length. Where are the Silent Hills and Syphon Filters of today, with hours of gameplay before even asking what extras are in it. For $60, I shouldnt beat the story as a leisure gamer, in a matter of two or three days. That was a big disappointment for me at such a high price point, but other than that, game is pretty exceptional and a great addition to your Switch lib

The game play and controls are smooth. It's a fun run-through. You'll enjoy the basics of this platform pioneer. The level designs are nice, although many are some what short and a bit too easy. Boss fights are entertaining and classic nintendo style boss fights. The disappointing part was the length of the game, for 60 USD i'd expect more than 5 hours of main story. I beat the main game in one day, and didnt have much desire to go back to 100%.

The gameplay is sub par, 4-direction shooting is pretty boring to me. The enemies, not bosses, are poorly designed, relatively boring, and not memorable at all. The fact that once you get deep into the map, backtracking becomes the only task, is super tedious and can become boring really fast, even with a walk-through. Best part of this game is the story, it's mysterious and you feel the need to help out the protagonist on his adventure, which helps you want to progress more.

This game is what the switch is all about, perfect. Sad it did not get the right marketing and promotion as i believe it would be one of the most popular titles regardless indie or not. The game is hours and hours of fun, the best randomly generated room game I've played. The characters are fun, unique, and provide great stories once you reach their short but challenging pasts. The fighting system is uber fun, aim in 360 direction, and thanks to clever camera positioning, this 2-d game is uniquely not 2-d. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for loads of fun and bullet mayhem. Reaching the end is tough, but not impossible, and becomes much less daunting once you get the hang of it, though that may be after 1-200 attempts! loads of characters, secrets, and guns to unlock. If you haven't tried or seen game-play, i suggest you do.

Cave Story Plus7

Slightly overrated in my opinion. The story is great, and the characters are cute, but thats about as far as it goes for my pros. the combat system is meh at best, not a fan of four direction shooting, and the enemies are not memorable except for that cute little robot, but maybe thats just cause hes my keychain now. I guess to each their own

Severely underwhelming with a disappointingly huge amount of room for improvement. It is not a DAW, and not a game. Somewhere in between perhaps. It feels, looks, and runs like a demo / beta version. The button functionality is limited, menus are inefficient, and the HUGE lack of touch screen options, aside from basically the keyboards, is a major upset for a seemingly minor task. For me, I'm into music production, and I love my switch too much, so i had to buy this for said reasons, but man was i disappointed. It's fun to create loops, and try the sounds, but most $10 iOS apps etc come packaged better. Save yourself the $50 unless you're like me and are just buying it as a gimmick because you enjoy to produce music and game.
