This game has a total identity crisis. It tries to be a racing game, a party game, and an arena battler — but it doesn’t truly excel at any of them. There are far better options on Switch 2 if you want a focused experience. The only reason it lands at a 7 is because the music and visuals are absolutely carrying it. Without those, this would easily be a 5.
Amazing gameplay, story, and roster no question. But unfortunately, the visuals just don’t meet the standard for a $70 game. Handheld mode runs buttery smooth, but once you dock it, the cutscenes get noticeably blurry. And I’ve got to be honest Zelda’s voice acting was rough and completely failed to deliver the emotional weight those scenes needed.
game did not have enough quality content to justify a 70 dollar price tag. game was way to easy. and no full dialogue voice acting for a 70 dollar game.
game was overpriced. its barley worth 50 dollars. the open world is boring. they ruined the grand prix with the highway tracks. Half the rooster is trash
story was boring. the combat system was not polished and attacks would miss when they should hit. the graphics and art style was terrible for a 70 dollar game. no voice acting. no new Pokémon or regional variants. most of the new Megas were trash the best ones for the kalos starters are lock behind a paywall and raichu mega are cut content for the expansion. the highs are the soundtrack is amazing and the mega boss battles were amazing when the combat wanted to work
