Not a bad game, but could have been better. it starts out as an interesting concept, mixing a rhythm game with shop simulation mechanics. It gets repetitive and predictable after a while though, as you go through the levels until you reach the point to take on the main characters' last mission. About the main characters, it`s hard to follow their quests, because the game doesn't pause while you read the quest updates. So it becomes harder to care about them as the game progresses. Also, the game makes many attempts at humor, but at most it will give you a chuckle. It's fairly silly. The game itself is very easy and casual, not meant to be taken very seriously. Despite my complaints, it's still somewhat enjoyable. I could recommend it for some casual fun.

Not at all a bad game. Pretty graphics, good music, good controls. The worlds all have their own distinct theme, and there's a good variety of stages so you don't feel like you're grinding as you progress through the game. The only downside of the game is the lack of challenge. The levels are all too linear and fairly easy for a Mario game. All boss fights are very easy as well, and I beat most on the first try. I didn't try the multiplayer though. Other users talk about it being fun, but it's an aspect of the game I was unable to evaluate.

Very balanced fighting game with numerous unique characters, excellent graphics, and interesting combo mechanics. For a fighting game, it's easy enough for anyone to pick it up and have some fun, but it's a very difficult game to actually master, such are the intricacies of the core mechanics. At least, the game offers an awesome tutorial and a very helpful training mode, so those mechanics are not as cryptic as they might have been otherwise. The story mode has a very cheesy plot, and feels like a terrible action movie. Considering that normally no one plays fighting games looking for a decent plot, it's only a minor negative.

While I'm not very fond of visual novels, I kind of enjoyed Long Live the Queen. Following an interesting initial premise - You are a young princess about to reach adulthood and your eventual coronation -, the game relies on a nice skill based system, where certain events and dialogue options are enabled depending on skill levels. The plot offers a good variety of characters and a complex enough scenario, and figuring out a path to survive all the threats to your coronation - and there are many - will prove challenging for a while, as you juggle which skills should be trained and which will be neglected. It's a trial and error process that can be figured out after a while. More difficult is to figure out a path to get all endings, as it requires vastly different approaches to overcome the same challenges. However, its good ideas are undermined by very low production values. For a game that relies on still images to present the plot, there's not much variety. You will spend most of the time gazing at the same still picture of the castle. Events are only described in text with the still image of the castle in the background, with very few exceptions (that simply change the background for a bit). The character portraits all seem to be derived from the same very few templates, so it's hard to differentiate among them. Also, there's no voice acting of any kind, the music is somewhat dull and repetitive, and the writing is lackluster (all character seemed to have very similar personalities). In the end it's not a bad game, but it could have been much better with a few minor improvements.

Lovely game, that easily surpassed my expectations. The game goes for some very interesting aesthetics, mixing steampunk robots with spaghetti western - including a very Morriconesque soundtrack - to some very charming results. Speaking about aesthetics, the game made great use of the 3D feature of the Nintendo 3DS, adding some subtle depth to the scenery that makes it more pleasant to look at. There is a small plot going on as you dig and return to town. It hints at a far greater story that makes me wonder if the game will have a sequel. The vendors in town all have their own small personalities, so it's nice to follow the story as you progress. The game itself is fairly short - I finished it in 9 hours - but it can probably be finished in half the time if the player just rush through the game. The puzzle elements are fairly easy, although all the enemies and different terrains and blocks offer their own surprises.

Excellent old-school action game, with charming pixel-art and and some neat ideas put together. The action on screen is intense - especially on harder levels - while the bullet-time mechanics and mid-jump dashes make up for varied and interesting fights. The stage design and the bosses are pretty good and all of them pose their own challenge. It may be a bit short, but on the other hand it doesn't get repetitive.

While I did enjoy the game, I'm somewhat puzzled with its high review score. I mean, it has some very interesting ideas and mechanics, and some very nice music (I regret not buying it with the soundtrack), but the graphics are overly simplistic, with the maps being many times a bit dull. The puzzles are all somewhat easy. Also, for being a very satirical game, its humor sometimes misses the mark. At times I actually laughed loud at jokes, while other times I just rolled my eyes or found them just plain dumb. Same thing with the plot, at times it got me excited and curious, and at other times it got me bored thinking it was dragging on too much. The characters are interesting and grow on you after a while, to a point where I cared to try a re-run to see multiple endings. Anyway, it is a fine game and worth a shot for anyone who played enough JRPGs. But I'm puzzled at why so many people consider it a masterpiece of sorts.

Considering it is a free fangame made in RPG Maker, it is actually a bit surprising. It has many flaws, but it also has some neat ideas and mechanics. The graphics are very simplistic, even for a RPG maker game. The character sprites could have been a bit more expressive in their animations and not rely on character portraits so much. The music however is pretty interesting and able to convey the necessary dose of emotion and drama. The game is originally in Chinese with the English translation being very sloppy, and while for the most part this is excusable, at certain points it damages the meaning of what the author meant a character to say. The best thing about this game is the fighting mechanics, with the developer being able to build a very decent action adventure from the very limited set of tools RPG Maker has. The bosses on hard mode can be a pain to defeat, and it's at that point that the action really shine. Also, there's a crafting system that, while being somewhat interesting at first, becomes repetitive and predictable after a while. The story is fairly simple, and at times delves a bit too much in melodrama, but in the end I cared about them enough to want to see how it would end. It's a fine game, well worth the price of admission, and the time invested in it.

Charming graphics and interesting mechanics made this an interesting game, and it got me hooked to it for a few days. The puzzles only seem to be easy until you start challenging yourself to beat the set time for each stage, sometimes finding the fastest route can be really hard and demanding a level of ability that is going to please the hardcore gamer as well. Without any plot or character development, this is a good game to relax for a bit or challenge yourself with well thought puzzles.

To this day one of the best Mario Kart games ever made. Incredibly fun both on single player and on local Wi-Fi, it has very good graphics (considering it's an early title for the NDS). Offers a fun ride for the casual gamer and a decent challenge for the hardcore. Also has a fairly memorable soundtrack - especially considering it borrows some tunes from earlier Mario Kart games. The only minor flaw is the internet multiplayer.
