utter trash. If you've never played a video game before than you might enjoy it. It's just edgy hipster ******. Combat is tedious and boring. it's just a chore. Only upside is that art direction is cool and music isn't bad.
They've taken ideas from everything and blended it together into a mess. The edgy narrator is just a creepy **** **** that won't shut it. No clue how any respectable gamer could give this game anything above 5, and only way it could get that high is 4 pity points because of art and music. If you think you enjoyed this game, than please go play Shadowrun: Hongkong and/or Bioshock, that's the games this one is ripping off and doing it very badly. It's basically taken Hongkongs art direction and feel and bioshocks story and made a mashed up **** hipster version... it's terrible.. do yourself a huge favor and play the original ideas. Both those games have vastly superior gameplay and nuanced story.
You're welcome.

Monster Hunter: World - Iceborne0

Iceborne simply pisses all over world. Ruins the base game to make way for the hp inflated and timesink of forced clutch claw, wallbang and the infuriating clagger effect..
It's new mechanics also overlap with existing mechanics and button prompts, killing you when unsure which mechanic you wanted. It's inflated sink is eventually rewarded with the mmo styled bosses and the hugely unfair and terribly designed enemies like rajang and **** well as the usual insane amount of grinding rng to drain every ounce of life out of you. Base World was great as it was. If only we could play it without the terrible addition of iceborne.. But we can't. Iceborne is forced upon us whether we like it or not. Travesty.

Easy but unfair.
The exact opposition of why everyone loved and praised it's predecessors.
There is simply no better way of describing bloodborne as a whole.
The game is easy enough for most to get through and the skeleton of souls games is there. But the unfair and anti player behavior of dark souls 2 is all over this game as well but just in a different way.
Gone are bad hit boxes and nerfed iframes, but instead we get unfair enemy behavior, unresponsive controls and a new dash system that makes every situation more dangerous and unfair then it has to be.
The high risk, low reward parry makes things even worse as a lot of enemies require shooting before they even begin attacking in order to parry. And with twitch attacks mixed with delayed baiting attacks, it leaves behind a game designed around canceling player behavior rather than making a believable breathing world. Instead we get a jigsaw of mashed ideas desperately trying to make sense and force player behavior! That is again the opposite of what made demon souls and dark souls great. The only positive is that this unfair system does induce a sense of dread, panic and pure frustrating madness that the setting wants you to feel, and it's understandable why each npc in the game has been driven past the brink of sanity. Sadly the setting and game design is trying to be a bunch of different games all at once.
We have 3 story genres fighting each other and two game design philosophies vying for your attention.
All of which drains and ruin the premise and flow of the game, which was promising and quite amazing at first. It's baffling how people praise this game, but I suppose it's blind loyalty to the brand or simply ignorance of what came before.
Demons souls was broken but amazing and dark souls was the culmination of its potential. But after that From seems to have lost their way. I believe, like many creators, they might not know what they've created and struggle in desperation to recreate it.
At least they're trying something new with bloodborne and I respect that, but I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Even though updates and DLC have made the experience slightly better. The journey toward madness simply isn't worth it. If the game had stopped in the first third and focused solely on Yarnam and it's beast problems, it would've been a much better game. And maybe that is why so many praise it, they don't get further into the game but won't admit it for fear of lowering their gamer cred..

Terrible game. Combat stats, apart from hp, doesn't do anything, talent tree is mostly useless because there is only one usable build as the entire "skill" of the game boils down to mashing dodge, parry and claw attack as much as possible. Trying to time enemy attacks is actually detrimental to your survival because the game doesn't have input queue, so if you happen to press a button a millisecond to soon, then input is ignored and you'll take tons of damage and stagger allowing enemies multiple free hits... so, button mash it is! Game seemed like it had promise, it seemed like the combat would be a dance between you and the enemy, but in practice it is just both of you button mashing without any consequence, as enemies almost never get staggered and so long as you're just madly spamming parry, you won't either. Every enemy also has two hp bars, both of which need to be grinded through to kill every single one.. if you stop spamming attack for a second, they regain all health. so you gotta spam spam spam spam, grind grind grind grind... terrible. 0 skill, there is only spam.

Great Game!
Without a doubt the best combat of any Ninja gaiden game! Extremely impressive combat. The flow and control you have is remarkable! Controlling Yakumo feels amazing, however Ryu is slightly worse, doesn't have the same flow, which is too bad.
If you're struggling, simply lower difficulty and ease your way into the combat and flow of things, than raise if you want to. Most accessible Ninja gaiden, without a doubt! I feel like the difficulty keeps a better approach, where the game feels more fair and less janky than older titles. There isn't 10 ranged enemies shooting rockets from hidden locations or insane amounts of enemies overwhelming you, forcing you to spam flying swallow 24/7. Instead you're fast enough to actually move around the battlefield and you're given more tools to deal with these situations compared to older titles. The flow of freedom is much greater, and makes the experience so much better. The only two negatives in combat is the dip in quality when you get to control Ryu, who seems designed to play as older games, and that's when we truly notice the difference between this and older titles.
Ryu is slow, but strong. Easily gets stunlocked and stuck in long animations, just unpleasant to play him imo. Kinda have to rely on ultimate technique and Ninpo spam, much like the older games. Thankfully his bit is short and since he's stronger than Yakumo his sections are actually easier and his still better than older games. The second negative combat aspect is trash enemy health, which imo is just far too high. Most of the time I felt like I was spending far longer dealing with a single trash enemy, than any of the more difficult enemies, simply because they took so many hits, and even killing them simply dismembers them and allows them to keep fighting. This may likely be what most people find frustrating and quit. Health of other enemies is just fine. It just feels bad when you've gotta do finishers on almost all trash mobs. It just makes many of the fights more tedious than they have to be. Since you're kinda of forced into one or two aoe finishers simply to save time, which detracts from the flow of freedom that the game actually offers. They could've easily lowered enemy health after dismemberment to only 1-2 extra hits and it would've kept the same overall feel as the rest of the combat. A Ninja Gaiden game is first and foremost an action game, with a crazy challenge level of mastering combat. So to have only two negatives there, both of which are a mild annoyances rather than faults , is pretty impressive. Sadly the rest of the game doesn't keep the same quality. Which lowers the overall grade.
Exploration and levels feels very rushed and "cheap". Like the game was thrown together in a few weeks with minimal design or thought. It's basically just a few challenges linked together.. with special "challenge rooms" for the sake of it. Old ninja gaiden had these as well, but rooms were at least unique and fit with the current level. Now it's the exact same room, over and over again with different enemies. Seems very lazy and cheap. Story and lore is much the same. It doesn't really leave any room for exploration or diving deeper into the world. Which is too bad. The entire scope is simply to small and linear. Progression and such follows suit. You're front loaded with most combos and abilities early, than spoon-fed weapons. This makes most in-game check points kinda of pointless. It should've been better to get some more upgrades along the way. Once you get the first weapon as Yakumo, progression basically stops.
This is where the Ryu section was actually better, since it left ability upgrades scattered around the levels. It kept giving us something new and rewarded exploration, more reminiscent of older games. These shortcomings only keeps the game from being truly amazing, it is still a great game. I would've loved if all sections of game design were as impressive as the games combat. If that were the case this would've easily been a game of the year contender.

The games boss designs ruin the entire experience, while regular enemies bore you. Amazing level design and Art. Great world and story. Weapons are cool and animations pretty awesome. This should be a great game. However all of that is ruined as soon as you start fighting bosses. All of whom attack relentlessly in a whirlwind of animations where attack and dancing flow into one so you have no clue when or how you got attacked, and there is no poise or stagger effect on bosses so they can simply keep waling on you relentlessly. While also having no openings or time to heal. it's just dodge, dodge, dodge, dodge and die. Making things worse are your own animation locks, where if you happen to miss dodging the first twitch attack, you'll be locked in animation and unable to dodge the second attack. This isn't as apparent in the first few bosses, but as you progress it gets worse and worse. Then there is also the stupidity of forced upscaling, badly made vsync, terrible motion blur and generally bad performance. This is a game I WANT to like and recommend, but simply cannot. The game balance is just too out of wack. Regular enemies are harmless and bosses are insane. It forces everyone into spamming the most broken builds simply to have a chance, instead of nurturing healthy experimentation. They've tried to copy Soulbornes but missed the most crucial aspect, all builds and weapons need to be fun, viable and challenging.
