A pretty solid visual novel with interesting concepts, captivating story and memorable characters. It even touches on some topics that one usually wouldn't expect from a Chinese author - such as gender identity and discrimination. I read it in Chinese two years ago on Steam and I'm not very familiar with its Nintendo Switch version, to be honest. But as far as I know, they decided to "westernize" the characters' names, which is a very questionable decision. Still, based on the screenshots, I think that the translation otherwise is more or less okay. I really hope that they bring the translation to other platforms, since such exclusivity is just absurd and absolutely counterproductive, and that the sequel, which is even cooler, will be localized as well.

I read this novel in Chinese, so the localization problems didn't affect me (although I did check the English translation here and there and thought it was OK, but still, English isn't my native language, so it's hard for me to judge). Anyway, the story is very intriguing, captivating and touching. The depictions of common folk starving and going crazy because of hunger are really heart-wrenching. Definitely recommend this to read, especially if you like grim tales about revenge and surviving through era of turmoil.

The story is superb, the characters are great, the gameplay may be kinda boring, but at the same time it's pretty unique and revolutionary. Not the best game, not even the best Kojima game (that one being Metal Gear Solid 3), but still a mustplay for almost everyone.

A better game in this genre is really hard to imagine. It has all that could possibly engage a potential gamer: brilliant plot, cool characters, a whole lot of thoroughly designed mini-games, almost every one of which could possibly become a stand-alone simulator game. You can always do some stuff in this game, but at the same time you can as well just run forward through the story, skipping all the side quests and entertainment stuff. I doubt that it would be worth it, though.

The PC port isn't perfect, at its release it suffered from numerous problems (including waiting forever for the game to download and install on Steam). But since when we pay so much attention to such small matters? You really think it's OK to give 0 scores to a brilliant masterpiece just because of some technical problems? That's ridiculous!

It's a broken, sometimes even close to unplayable, game - but it's so charming and full with interesting ideas that I just can't give it a poor rating. If only the developer team had more money - then it would be a real masterpiece! The story and the characters are great and well written - the game deserves at least 7 out of 10 for that reason only. The rest...well, I beg you to be undemanding in that regard.

A game with brilliant ideas which are unfortunately not so properly realized and an unexpectedly great psychological story which at first look kinda stereotipical and not so intriguing - until you complete the mission number five. This makes the plot twist very unexpected and astonishing, but at the same time a lot of people were drawn off because of this, unable to find anything worth their attention at the beginning of the game. Fortunately, I wasn't among those people and thus I enjoyed the plot at full. The protagonist and the antagonist both are very well written characters with understandable motivation. If you started to play this game and find it boring, I recommend you to endure just until the end of the fifth mission - it'll be worth it, I assure you :)

My most favorite game of all times! A wonderful combination of stealth, adventure and some horror elements with one of the best, unsurpassed atmospheres. Imho, this game just lack any possible flaws, all its elements are where they should be. The story isn't the main focus point of this game, but nevertheless it's great. I love the fact that even the dialog between two guards that you can overhear at the beginning of the first mission isn't there just for some funny speech but is connected to the plot. The pure stealth missions are interchanged with ones where you get to do some action, levels set in human environment are interchanged with ones set in some weird places with terrible and dangerous creatures. Thief: the Dark Project is a perfect game by any standards possible. I would recommend it to anyone except, of course, for people that don't like stealth at all.

One of the greatest JRPGs of all times and also a very unusual one. It's very rare to see a JRPG in a non-fantasy setting. The story is very intriguing, with interesting scientific background and that peculiar athmosphere that is common for games made in Japan. The music is just perfect. As for the gameplay, I like its realization overall but there are a couple of flaws - e.g. some enemy attacks are too unobvious in terms of dodging, so often it depends purely on your luck if you can evade them. The most notable and annoying disadvantage of this game (if you play it on PS1 and not using an emulator) is the unskippable cutscenes. Watching them time after time is very frustrating, that's why the best decision is to play Parasite Eve on an emulator where you can save states. I really hope that sooner or later this masterpiece gets a modern remaster with improved combat.

Thankfully I'm playing this game after it being thoroughly patched, so the number of technical issues is rather low (I've watched some Youtube videos with people playing it on the release, so I can imagine the situation on the start). In my opinion, this game is what The Elder Scrolls games should be - less casual, more realistic and with challenging combat system. I haven't completed the game yet but I find it really captivating and overall a very satisfying experience for a hardcore gamer. Of course there are some questionable moments like e.g. when you put people unconscious they don't alert the guards after waking up, you only can buy a horse and can't tame horses you find in bandit camps, there are no wild animals in forests (at least, I didn't find any), etc. But I'd call those moments pretty insignificant.

Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear

I played this expansion right after having completed BG1 for the first time and completely unaware of any scandals regarding it. And I found Siege of Dragonspear really satisfying. Perhaps some old fans of BG1 will consider my words blasphemous but I really like SoD more than the original game (but of course BG2 is much better, that's for sure). The story is decent, I don't have nothing against this expansion to be linear (it's nothing bad when a sequel is more linear, just remember Ultima 7 with its Part Two being significantly more linear than Part One and still retaining its high quality), and the SJW thematics don't strike the eye at all comparing to ME: Andromeda, for example. I wouldn't call this expansion a masterpiece but it doesn't deserve at all to be rated so low. P.S. I imagine the situation if one of my childhood game would get an expansion nowadays - that would be excellent, marvelous, astonishing and I would be pretty forgiving towards its possible shortfalls. What's wrong with you, dear BG fans? Why are you so excessively critical?

The first part (the Haruspex scenario) is simply brilliant and very true to the original Pathologic. Can't wait to play the Bachelor and the Changeling! As for those who are new to this game and its universe - I strongly recommend to play it on medium difficulty ("Larva") because otherwise it will be a pretty tough experience and can scare you away.
