Trackmania2

Trackmania had a child with Fortnite and here it is... Firstly, music feels weirdly cheesy, not comparable at all to Nations Forever jazzy house, especially menu music. Cars have just weird dizzy feeling, never felt that disconnected from a car in TM. It's not so bad on Stadium blocks, but it gets worse on other road materials. Ice is the worst. Plus ofc the subscription model, where I can't even talk to people on chat to ask how they feel about the game. Big ugggghhhh, but what else could you expect when Ubisoft gives orders.

Can't really break something that good. Visually, quite appealing. Music (1 track looping all the time) and sound are awful though. Learn not to cut money for that at last!

Starcraft Remastered8

I appreciate the game runs smoothly with no problems now. And fixing some engine issues (turn rates, unit limit - although that still seems to be a problem in some custom games with lots, lots of units - some attacks like Valkyrie's don't work properly). It's cool the graphics are not so dated and pixelated, yet I think they could do more. Apart from that, it's still the best SC in the series, with great story, great custom games and best sound in the whole Blizzard portfolio.

Cities: Skylines7

Great city builder, FAR better than bugged unfinished SimCity. However this is really bad that they can't update the game with the CRUCIAL micromanagement features that modders do for free in their spare time. I don't like situations when for so long time, game are playable only with proper game fixing mods.

Firstly, I think StarCraft: Remastered was good. And this is what happens when you try to only make money with lowest effort possible. - show something that never gonna make it into final product, - hire "artists" who don't understand any aesthetic beyond fake plastic anime RPG (although that's going on for a while now), - stuff the thing with cashgrabbing options for future milking, - release buggy, unfinished client, - break the original game, - update the EULA with illegal claims for other people IDEAS (yeah, no one left in this crappy company to actually make FUN games, huh? (FUN ≠ Addicting and cashgrabbing by design)), - set the price as for new full title.

Battlefield V1

This is like World War 2 for kids (voice acting age, the overall graphic and gameplay design of the game) stuffed with SJW ****. Clearly not made by people who love games. It feels like everything here is just calculated to please certain types of people (mainly casual non-gamers), with no real essence to that. Gameplay-wise, I don't really know how one can enjoy that mess. One big disgrace. (at least I didn't pay for that, as I won a "community" (which of I don't feel to be a part, hehe) competition for voice acting. I am rather skilled in that, it was a nice experience to be involved in the recordings for the AAA title, but the game is still bad af.)

Banished4

Ok, ok - I get it - a game created by 1 person. And it may feel like a very good product/showreel of this person's skills. I really can't agree with people saying it can compete with strategies created by bigger developers. IT CAN'T. Games are not about quality/people involved ratio, games are about overall final product. Banished has decent game mechanics and the game is simple enough that these few rules give a clarity that can really engage the player. It's a breath of classic-style strategies - no rocket science complexity, just some basic rules to follow and master. The thing is - there is not much to master, and the game lacks any objective and does not give sense of fulfillment. First few hours may really feel good as you have to learn how the settlement works, but then - it's gone. You only have to expand, rearrange buildings a bit, get new territories so you won't run out of resources to create tools (needed for people to work) and so on and on... Not really much of a challenge left. I enjoyed it for ~12 hours, first 2 settlements were a trial and error playground, and with the third one I got everything right... And in any solid strategy game this is the moment when your base prospers well and you expect some kind of milestone or next Tier buildings/mechanics/challenges to come up, but... nothing's gonna happen here. Apart from these gameplay aspects, the game looks... not really appealling, sounds and music are only correct.

Tropico 63
May 31, 2019
Cmon, it's 2019 and they release something like this? I wish one day some developer will take as much effort to construct solid gameplay as they do to deliver graphics - but even they are not so up to date here. This game has the set of features that annoy me the most in economic/management games: - management is flimsy and chaotic, - no graphs or clear data on how much you produce/export or already have (each bulding has it own counter) - you can't control delivery chains, - the builders and deliverers seem to roam randomly, rather to have their areas or priorities, - maps are tiny and clunky, - buildings have 1-way entrance, - road autobuild sometimes goes crazy stupid, - not really many different ways to develop, as resources are pre-set, - some perks are utterly stupid (oh wiat, they are "funny"), while some are OP-ish Maybe OK for casual playing - the setting is still quite unique and enjoyable, but if you have any experience in this type of games, Tropico 6 might disappoint you. And if you played previous Tropicos - don't buy it or wait until it's really cheap so the devs and publisher get their lesson. It's the same all over again. Old broken gameplay with new layout that actually looks like from 2005.

Surviving Mars2

Replayability is not meant to be reached only with some randomized events - the gameplay should feel good at first. Here, the gameplay is feeling bad - not enough management options, no proper aim to add drive to the game. The game is about setting the colony, but you can't even connect your domes in any sensible way. If you are into economic simulators/city builders/tycoon, avoid at all costs - it will only make you mad because you will not be able to get things done in the colony, like they should be done. The first couple of hours may feel interesting but only because you have to learn basic operations... Then you find out there's nothing more left, and you can't even optimize these simple actions. It feels like an ALPHA version with basic features set up, but no one ever taken time to think about how to connect these features into satisfying and deep gameplay. Quite a potential, but... wel... maybe they will reach ~60% of it with DLCs, as always with Paradox. All this stupid pace of the game could appeal to somebody who haven't ever played a well designed game like this. For all the others - it will get tedious faster than you'd expect.
