Pro: Many mechanic balance issues from the first game were fixed! Con: ... by breaking the balance even more! Many runs will just not have any path to victory. For example, you may never see a sweep/direct damage spell in your run, and without one, a single row of enemies can wipe your entire deck in several fights. Several hard stops like this will end runs without any chance by the player to avoid them, some seeds just don't have winning paths. The AI-generated art looks MUCH worse than the first game's art style. There is a rumor the art wasn't entirely made with AI, which actually makes it worse - it's so bad and generic, it LOOKS all AI-generared. The writing is equally bad, also apparently written by AI. It's devoid of emotion, depth, or humor. It's like a dry-and-undercooked steak - completely unappetizing. There are many cool new mechanics and updates to problems from the first game, but this feels very much like 2 steps forward, 2 steps back, and that's not considering the offputting AI art and writing.

As a huge fan of the first game with over 500 hours in Wizard of Legend, and as a huge fan of Dead Mage's Children of Morta, I'm utterly impressed at how poorly built, balanced, and tested Wizard of Legend 2 is. After 50 hours in the sequel, the bones **** game are here, but they're buried under numerous bugs, balance issues, and poor design choices. Stacked against the content of the first game, this feels like it's still in very early access, and it's definitely not the worth the price right now. Whether it's constant disconnects from friends online, relics bugging out and not working, plethora of balance issues, or the weird healing debuff that occurs in the final biome without any explanation, you should be prepared for any or all of these to occur and tank your run. It can be very difficult to connect online with friends, often taking 10 or more attempts before a successful connection can happen. Currently, I'd recommend just buying WoL 1 on sale. In time, with numerous patches and on sale, this game may be worth it. Or Dead Mage may just abandon it, since early reviews over the last 8 months have been mixed at best, or very negative.

One of the most poorly balanced games I've ever played. Purchased on sale for 99 cents, which was 99 cents too much. I cleared D5 for all characters, and can fairly say this steaming pile has serious balance issues, poor performance, and isn't worth the time or money, even on sale. Abysmal, absolute avoid.

The game itself is great, but the Switch version will crash in the main game mode 100% of the time. I'm at 5 consecutive crashes during the final minute of Survival. Do not buy this on Switch. You can't get a refund on a product you can't finish playing.
