I prefer this to Boomrang Fu. It's very fast, very intense, quick to start, instant fun.

Amazing mechanic, Switch port is a disaster, this is a skill based game, you have to be very precise, but inconsistent framerate kill the gameplay.

This game had such hope and was a total disaster. Solo is nonexistent, and after 2 months, multiplayer was nonexistent too… The online mode make playing with friends (the selling point) a purge: 4v4 online is doable, but with a maximum of 2 players per Switch. Don't expect to invite 3 friends and play together. Ask one of your friend to brings its Switch, monitor, and RJ45 cable… So you have one friend only? No worry, Nintendo thought of you: If you play with one friends, you can't select 2 characters per players, so each player could have switch between _its_ two characters. The player switch is shared between players. Switching character select the character the closest to the ball. This means if both players switch at the same time, you are not really sure about which character you control. Let me repeat this: If you play with a friend, in the speed of the game, character switching is unpredictable. And because of the speed of the game character switch is what make the difference between loose and win. The only "workaround" is to let one single player to handle the character switching. Same for 3 players (but it's lesser a problem, I would say). We are talking about a Nintendo game. This is so dumb. I could list all the other problems, but making basic game design flaws that no other indie football game will never have reveal the mess this game is.

Art is bad. Paris promenade is boring, Coconut Mall is less enjoyable than original. Most tracks seems "off". Ninja Hideway is the only interesting track because of how technical it is, but the rest looks like asset pushed in Unity with global illumination (Coconut Mall is such a disaster). More love should have been pushed is those tracks. Please don't do this again Nintendo!

The best indie platform fighter ever made. The depth you can have during a fight make me realize (and understand) why Smash Ultimate is shunned by many pro players. The interesting gameplay "features" that make Melee awesome to play are here and easier to achieve in Rivals. Each character and each of its skills are different and have strong impact on a game. All of this make a game blazing fast and intense. The only "problem" is you need to find friends to play this. Fortunately, there is the main discord where you can find players easily. There were few annoying bugs at release time, but all of them has been fixed by now.

Très chouette à deux, avec une VF vraiment excellente (chose rare pour un jeu indé). Le rythme de jeu est calme, mais nécessite une peu de dextérité.

Let's states the obvious: Solo is not very fun. I don't have online so I can't talk about it but this game does not have online. This game will highly depends on your friends. But if you have the good ones, you _will_ have fun. You need to be 3+ to create a "triangle" of opportunity that make this game fun (you can't stay focused too much on someone or someone else is maybe chasing you). 4 player is perfect as you can't check everyone. The XP mechanism brings you stuff gradually (mostly weapons/levels, who cares about skins here…) so you can test things smoothly. The biggest loading time is on game loading, after, everything is fast (menu/game/etc.), and that's great! This game is fast. You will have to anticipate you're friends move. But this is where this game shines. Remember when you succeed to guess what you friend will do, anticipate and win? This game is full of this. This switch version is pretty nice. Levels are well designed and beautifully colored. After few minutes, you know where someone is just watching it's screen. Weapons are surprisingly inspired and different between each other: I would have loved a controllable rocket (like in Unreal Tournament/Perfect Dark) with a long trail so other players can see where it has been shots and hope the player is still there because he is focused on controlling it's rocket (also letting 3 seconds before another shot so he stay vulnerable and can't defend instantly). Some are too big on the screen an hide the view. All levels are not equal, my biggest complain is about the floating physics making you fall just because the moose when climbing stairs make you jump and you fall from the map. Maps in sky need more love to avoid the player to fall IMHO. Levels with big moving parts (I'm not talking about elevators) are a bad idea. I would have loved an option to keep the level statics. The music is perfect and totally match the style! Jazzy electro. The sound effects are not all goods and break the "catchy" mood you can feel in this game. From a pure sound effect perspective, it's "flat" and lack of "depth". It's a general note about this particular game design: Because you don't see players, you have moments where no fire is exchanged, everyone is looking each other, running into the map. So you only have the (nice) music, but this break the tension. We need more sound: * Sound when player fall from a certain distance. * Props sounds (telephones, fountains, etc.) Of course those sounds could came from multiple places in the map so you can't totally identified player position. * Grenade launcher: Sound when bouncing. * Bear Bomb: No sound when exploding? Seriously? * Chefolet: The ball should make a continues (electric?) noise so you can heard it growing when its coming to you. It should also make a noise on wall bouncing. * HobbyHorse: Pataklop! Pataklop! And then nothing if you hit (just the tiny frag sound). We should have a more catchy sound when a charge is successful (Horsing screaming?). * Blunderbuss: Is the most good one! Don't touch it. Three bugs for now: * Sometime, wind tunnels simply doesn't work. You have the sound, you can move inside like anything else. This is the most frustrating one. * Location translation bug: Level menu don't display some levels (French: loc error). * You don't see the selection in some menu (selection is bright gray on gray options. A button border would have been better). So, to finish this review: If you have friends/brother(s)/sister(s): Instant buy, it's so much enjoyable.

Game is nice, simple, fast paced, fine tuned, addictive and quiet polished. Art is very nice and gameplay focused and controlled (background is desaturated, enemies are very colored), animations are cool. You more from level to level with a lot of enemies, each one having it's predictable pattern. This predictable pattern approach is the key of the game where you anticipate what is on screen and move accordingly. This is very pleasant and part of the addictive approach. If you loose, it's on your own. Solo arcade mode is the main "campaign" with a tiny story. You move levels, win money, buy new power ups and repeat. This progression system is fine tuned, after a moment, levels become harder and you can try to improve your score on previous levels, and because you have new power up, previous levels become easier to beat, improving your score and money to win new gear for harder levels. This allow you to still discover new possibilities after few hours. There is a 1 player and 2 players mode where you need to beat improve your world wide score in a continuous level. You win money, buy power ups to beat stronger waves. Each run is around 2/3 minutes which is a perfect timing for intensive action. I noticed some bugs in character animation (when under power up) but that doesn't impact the gameplay. When there are a lot of coins (when a wave is over), random coins are not catch when you walk on them. Some coins and item fall, near the borders and can't be catch. This doesn't appear often but it distract you from the action. My main concern about this Switch version is some (few) random big frame rate drops that can happen is some intense action moment and you could lost a point for this (like 10 frames drop). It's a real shame because the game very smooth all along and then, at some random moment: Frame drop. I wanted to give this game a 8 but it lost a point because I lost some lives in intensive fight because of the frame drop. We can hope devs will fix those and I will increase my score. EDIT: Increasing to 8 as I still play and enjoy it, depicts the frame drops.

First, if you want a Mario Kart-like game, you are at the wrong place. Depicts looking childish, this game is hard and demanding, it has a huge depth in how you manage your booster (long story short, the point is to keep you booster as much as possible to win) and after few mistakes you often prefer to restart the race. You can save tens of seconds on a race simply "boosting" right. You need to play a lot to master. This brings to a huge gap between players. So you will not have fun in off-screen multiplayer (except with peoples knowing the game). The weapon distribution doesn't work. The game should have not any weapons loot and put everything on track. The last lap is often 1-2 AI far away ahead and the group beating and slowing down each other so the first AIs continue the race without troubles. This is not a bug, it's part of the game. This avoid the Mario Kart pitfall when player try to not be too much on top to avoid most attacks. That's why you often known when you should restart the game. About the "content": There are a lot of races and modes. But for characters/karts/colors, it doesn't change anything to your kart settings as you can select them independently. So those are just "very nice art". Worse design idea: You can see the karts/colors/characters on their karts even without having unlocked them. This totally annihilate the rest of rewarding effect you could have discovering what you've unlocked. For now, when the game tells you you unlocked something, you don't care. I state it again: The art is amazing, the colors, the motion blur, soft shadow, character animations, etc. Loading screen are huge, but restarting a race is fast lighting. You don't see loading screen "that" much actually. My biggest complain is it's impossible to change kart settings without leaving the race. The game have a free to play looks with daily/monthly challenges focusing on competition. Doing them brings you "nitro" and "cash". Nitro unlock karts/stickers/colors, cash unlock special karts/stickers/colors. But as I explained before: You don't care: They change nothing and you can see them on the selection screen. Online multiplayer seems to be "the" thing with this game but I don't have Nintendo Online. That said, for me, it's a solo game focusing on competition and collectable. I played the story in medium and it was tough. The story remind me Diddy Kong Racing (N64) but it doesn't have it's depth. Shame, it could have been so good. The game should have a proper explanation of it's internal mechanism, it's a pity you have to go to the internet to understands the basics. But once you know this, once you takes time to test how the game works, it's amazing. The fact it's the most discussed racing game on the Switch should put a flea in your ear.
