Luto8
Sep 27, 2026
Luto is better than 90% of the horror walking sims that birthed from the acclaimed demo, PT. The main reason is that it doesnt try to blatantly copy its themes and mechanics. Luto has the quality of an AAA game despite tiny studio responsible of this jewel. Yes the story takes place in the closed corridors of a house and you're basically looping through the horror, resolving puzzles, but Luto is so much more. First is the presence of a narrator, constantly commenting on your actions, giving clues about yourself, what's happening or even about your state of mind. You will be second guessing if he's your conscience or an omnipotent being watching you from afar, is he on the good or bad side?
Might i add that the english voice actor did an outstanding job at it. Second, is the level design that is both very creative and well crafted. In the beginning of the game it's a pretty realistic depiction of a house inhabited with memories of the past and present then it gets progressively weirder, then sinister until you hit full uneasiness, the decor will even break the third wall and lets you know directly you're a character in a game. Third is the strong adult themes that the story touches. It's a very compelling story about loss, suicide, family and forgiveness that is very well written through many aspects in the game : the level design, the silent protagonist, the narrator , the items you pick throughout, the puzzles you complete everything is adding to the mystery and help to solve the reason of your journey. The sound design is immersive and of great quality, the horror element don't rely on cheap jumpscares and are generally quite clever and subtil. The real scare is the uneasy atmosphere and the psychological fear you feel at each moments. Luto is a genius work of art made by passionate devs that poured so much creativity in it that it stands pretty close in quality with PT or Silent Hill.

Total Chaos8
Feb 26, 2026
This game reminded me a lot of Silent Hill and Silent Hills, but with its own unique twist. I was really into the eerie story and the maze-like level design of Fort Oasis.
The monsters can be quite stressful and they're mostly well designed, but some of them are kinda funny to look at.
The combat mechanics are straightforward but effective, and you can make good use of the surroundings.
I found inventory management to be the toughest part, it can be quite overwhelming at first. It seems like I was just hoarding more than I needed, the game actually gives you a lot of stuff when you need it! Total Chaos is top-notch, it's a really good survival horror game that's been put together with a lot of love and skill.

ROUTINE9
Dec 18, 2025
Since the great Alien Isolation, I wanted to play a game that could be similar in tone. That's when I found out about Routine, a game that was on hiatus for years but just released to fulfill that scratch. You wake up as a software engineer on an empty Moon Base looking for clues, piecing together what happened. I hid, I ran, I felt the paranoia of space, on the verge of losing my mind, moving blindly to reach answers on what my goal was. I felt the terror and loneliness of the unknown as I wandered, reading logs, hacking doors, understanding the lore, and solving tricky puzzles to complete the tasks at hand, with fantastic sound design, beautiful graphics, and clever gameplay. It was truly a marvelous experience, even if I didn't understand the story in depth.
I advise every fan of the space horror genre and Lovecraftian stories to try this out blind. You will feel the love and attention the developers had making this jewel. It's now in my top horror games of all time!

Silent Hill: Homecoming4
Oct 17, 2025
This one is a real let down. Storywise it's intriguing at first then it goes quickly downhill with a weak ending. The main protagonist and side characters are not interesting and quite blank. Fighting is getting repetitive quickly and feels very clunky especially in closed space, dodging doesn't work most of the time. Boss fights are too easy and feels unsatisfying. Most of the puzzles are tiresome and some of them are even bugged to this day. The only redeeming qualities are the bosse's designs and some of the monsters, the soundtrack can be quite good, and I like that you can see in first person camera view. It's got the Silent Hill's name, it took many inspirations from SH2
but for the worst, you can avoid this one entirely.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater8
Sep 3, 2025
While I found MGS delta overpriced, it's a faithful hommage to one of my favorite game of all time, and the first metal gear solid I've played in my life as a teen. Graphically beautiful, they modernized the controls and gameplay a bit with some cool additions but it's still feels stiff and outdated in some ways.
Still I missed Snake and playing MGS in current gen is a blast, so I'll support Konami for their revival.

Silent Hill 210
Aug 25, 2025
The best remake of the PS5 hand's down, Blooper did a hell of a job on this one. Silent Hill is looking beautifully haunting, James's journey is still scary and thrilling. The music and story is still masterful, I found the locations getting scarier the more you go, especially the prison. My only grip was sometimes the levels could feel like a drag if you want to rush them, so I'm advising players to take their time to complete the game.

Locked Up (2020)3
Jul 27, 2025
Too many jumpscares made the scare effects numb, game loop is mostly just walking back & forth in a corridor, storytelling is bad even if a rip off from P.T. There was some good intents but it was badly displayed. I don't recommend it

The Exit 87
Jul 21, 2025
This game is well designed. You're stuck in a loop where you need to spot anomalies to find the exit, pretty simple, you might say, but it's getting harder and harder with each successful guess. It makes you doubt every little thing the more you're near the exit, and add to the tension. There are some cool jump scares and the graphics are quite photo realistic. It's not a very long game, and there's no story but the mysterious tone and the fact that it doesn't take you by the hand and you need to figure it out yourself is much appreciated. Kudos to the dev for the ingenuity of the game loop, and I heard it's even becoming a movie in the near future!

Fears to Fathom - Woodbury Getaway6

It's my first Fears to Fathom story, it had good scares and it felt quite entertaining overall. I might try to play the other.
Controls felt mid and at times it felt boring (kitchen and fishing minigames).

The Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos10
Jul 20, 2025
Best rpg mod I've ever played, Gothic is already a fabulous franchise and this mod gives you a full game on its own, build on the Gothic Lore & engine. The story is engaging and more grounded, fighting is enhanced, graphics are wonderful (if you already liked Gothic's graphics) also the open world feels bigger you will love the city of Archolos. The beginning can feel slow & tedious but then it gets better and better. TCMA is just a wonderful mod overall for every Gothic fan out here to experience for free. Praise innos and the devs for this gem

Alan Wake II10
Mar 16, 2025
A true sequel, darker, scarier with everything that I loved about the first installment upgraded. The game is a true work of art and Remedy surpassed itself once again to propose a well-crafted gem that will leave its mark in the gaming industry as they usually do! Edit: Played and finished the DLC's they're all quite good especially The Lake House, made me reinstall the game, the amount of love Remedy put in this IP is felt and saluted!

Gothic8
Mar 14, 2025
I'm a huge fan of RPGs and heard good things about the Gothic series and the way it inspired the genre. The story, side quests, and dialogues are very unique and humorous. Gameplay and graphics can feel old at times, but they can become decent after installing various mods that can also ease up the tediousness of some actions. I enjoyed the different factions, armors and locations when roaming the game world and particularly the way you become more skilled as the game progresses. Gothic still feels very good in 2025. I'm glad I finally experienced it!

Lost in Vivo8
Mar 14, 2025
This indie game is a total nightmare, heavily inspired by the Silent Hill games. The monsters look super creepy and are memorable! The sound design & the musics are very well done and serves the immersion. The story is a bit too cryptic for my taste tho. Still I highly recommend the experience, LiV felt like a bad acid trip. Kudos to the dev!

Dead Space (2008)8
Mar 10, 2025
Didn't had the stomach to end this game in my youth so I tried to, in my thirties. What a challenge, beat it on hard difficulty and it's way much scarier than the remake that I finished before playing this, enemies are quicker, and more deadly than ever, I loved it from start to **** to switch to the sequel

Silent Hill 4: The Room5
Mar 10, 2025
My least favorite Silent Hill game, with the worst enemies. The ghosts were very annoying, and the second half of the game is just backtrackingof the same levels. Also, Eileen's escort was clunky and disappointing. Finishing the game with the bad ending was also depressing Only redeeming quality was the story that was quite intriguing and mysterious.

Mouthwashing offers a distinctive experience, characterized by compelling artistic direction. Gameplay is straightforward, yet players become deeply invested in unraveling the narrative. While maintaining a lighthearted tone, the game explores serious thematic elements. You can feel that much love was put into this game by the team that made it. I highly recommend it for enthusiasts of psychological horror games; it will leave its mark on your head, I guarantee it.
