Such a great concept, and yet, so poorly executed... After all the patches and improvements, the game plays clunky, uncomfortable, and gives me headache! You start on a planet with hostile conditions, and are supposed to learn the terribly ununituitive, and badly explained basics under pressure, while you are slowly dying. Such a bad start, really... Everything in this game feels like a concept, something that still needs to be properly implemented. After two hours with this game, in which i had to learn and understand everything the hard way, and did not enjoy anything, im quitting. No fun, just stress...

I can absolutely see, why people love this game: The world is beautiful and huge, full of surprises and life, and there is always something to do and to discover, which fits great into the Zelda series. Personally, i do not enjoy the game, however: There is so much empathy on puzzles and difficult passages, the controls are overloaded, weapons break all the time, and running, swimming and climbing requires stamina. Its like the developers intended to hinder the player's progress as much as possible, which results in a stressful and non-enjoyable experience for me.

The game starts strong, with beautiful graphics, an interesting story, intuitive questing and variable character builds. After some hours it becomes clear though, that Amalur is fundamentally flawed: The world is lifeless and sterile, the battle system is repetitive, and the character developement doesnt feel interesting... It still is a decent game, but overshaded by the great RPGs of recent times...

Im verys surprised about the direction the Metroid games are taking with Dread. A series that was constantly improving, just did a huge backstep from the brilliant Prime series, and even a backstep from Super Metroid and the GBA titles... In fact, MD feels more like a walking and searching simulator, with a few boss fights to spice things up, and incredibly annoying stealth passages between. All you basically do, is run through the areas, and look under every rock. And, poor you if you missed a secret passage- You might end up running through the whole map for countless hours, without any clue what to do- gone are the ingame hints. Get lost, and your lost! Which makes the game feel slow, unituitive, and often enough annoying and just senseless. I still enjoy this iteration a bit, but it seriously feels like the NES or GB title with revised graphics, and for a metroid title of the newest generation, its a HUGE disappointment for me... I didnt even finished the game, as at some point, i was simply fed up... As a game itself, i would rate it with 6 points. Regarding the hilarious price, and the very little "real" playtime, i give it annoverall score of 4.

This is the only professional online CCG with a pay-to-play model: You unlock all cards with one-time-purchases, and then collect them ingame. Which alone is a HUGE advantage over all the other pay2becompetitive card games, and makes playing the game a LOT cheaper in the long run! The controls take a bit to get used to, but then, work intuitively and like a charm! Quality-wise, Faeria is bursting with content, that can be played alone, vs players and cooperatively, and keep you busy for a long time. The mechanics are deep and clever, and deep thinking and optimal play are highly rewarded. And finally, there still is an active online community, that you can play with and against. This is my favourite card game, and i recommend it whole-heartedly!

This is a massive, ambitious and beautiful game, but also a remaster, that didnt manage to leave its outdated nature completely behind. Since everybody else is talking about its greatness, i will focus on those weaknesses: - The resolution in handheld mode is unbearable - The game is very grind-heavy, while at the same time, grinding doesnt feel especially rewarding, and is generally too slow - The story is pretty clichee (personal oppinion), and didnt catch me - The world feels sterile: You cannot enter houses, collectables are just blue balls, and enemies just stand or walk around, and wait for you - The presentstion is too "asian", and not mature - Most important: The character developement and the battle system are uninteresting, and become repetitive fast In the end, it is a good remaster of a (once) very good, but very clunky game. It absolutely is a game worth playing, but it still leaves too many weaknesses, to be the true definitive version of the game... Personally, i didnt enjoy it to the end, and just beat the game to finish the journey. And, although i absolutely am a completionist, i skipped many quests and exploration, and wont do a new game+... Im rating XCDE with 8.4/10 points

While i like the the general game design, it is more of a puzzler, than a strategy game: Most levels are not meant to be besten strategically, but to be learned, until you can foresee every step, and then find the right solution. At least, if youre aiming for good grades. Other levels work with an unfair fog of war, or just put you in extreme disadvantages. On a sidenote, the font is terrible, and a i seriously dont understand, how they still havent added an alternative! Overall, really disappointing, and overall not even close to an Advance Wars.

Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk has a lot of potential, and is fun and motivating at times, but ultimately falls short due to the incredible lack of pacing, a suboptimal difficulty curve, and generally not that engaging gameplay. Combat is mindlessly repetitive, exploration tedious, and progression is not nearly fluid enough. The story is nonsense, the humor is silly, and the presenration is childish... And on top, there is a really respectless DLC policy... This is the culmination of many good ideas, that are realized lovelessly...

Starts strong, and has a lot of good ideas, which ultimately arent perfectly thought-through and executed, though: Repetitive gameplay, lots of repeating world-abilities, very unspectacular "boss-fights" (which you simply need to beat to proceed, but dont add any new mechanics), annoying and disturbing puzzles, a boring level-design, and the lack of comfort disturb the experience the longer you play, and the further you get, and hinder the game from being great. It still is a nice addition to the monster-collecting genre, and not a bad game, but didnt fulfill my personal expectations...

While the basics of the game are very well designed (nice graphics, tactical battles, a big world to explore, interactions with the environment), the execution is ultimately flawed: Lots of boring textwalls, unbalanced characters, recycled special-abilities, and especially: a LOT of necessary grinding, plus the extremely annoying need to level up 8 characters indivdually, with only 4 slots per party, leads to plenty of slow, boring and repetitive passages. And while i loved the game in the beginning and for the first couple of hours, the quaiity dropped continually from there... It still isnt a bad game, and introduced many exciting ideas into the genre, but after the first 30 hours of playtime, i have no intention or passion whatsoever, to continue playing, and am just bored and frustrated...

Scrolls is a very cheap and generous, yet extremely deep, beautiful and professionally made card and board game. Still in very active development, Scrolls has already developed and improved tremendously and offers a high amount of content and worth: 4 very different and complex factions, many different scrolls, a draft mode, daily quests, generous rewards for winning and losing, a tutorial, missions, tactical gameplay, great mechanics, comfortable interface and design, great balancing, a nice and friendly community, a real observer mode and unlimited replayability, available for both PC and Tablets. Still, only 7 points you ask? Which brings us to the big downside of the game: Unpredictable gameplay! There are too many cards, which are able to change the board situation drastically, and which can turn the tide within one single round. You could dominate the whole game and still lose, because a single card or combination has taken your whole army apart. That means, that no matter how perfect your skill, deck and strategy might be: You will always have to hope that the opponent doesnt have this or that card(s) in his deck and hand, or you might lose. For newcomers, it just feels like the outcome is decided by draws, not skill, which of course isnt completely true, but still much closer to the truth than it should. And thats the point where i stopped playing. After a game, where i outplayed and dominated my opponent from the start, just to have my army destroyed by a ridiculous combination of cards that improve speed and grant mass destruction. For me, good play and thinking is just not rewarding in this game... Therefore, sadly not recommended.

Outstanding game, one of the best games for 3DS and a big improvement of all other titles of the series, including all three DS parts! The sterile Labyrinth style of previous games has been replaced by open worlds, where you can and will discover all by yourself, and the dungeon design is great(ly improved)! Furthermore, the skill-system has been completely overworked and improved, hidden passages are now highlighted, theres a new, easier difficulty, subclasses can be assigned after a certain point, the content is huge and the music, which is individual for each world, is awesome! Still, a lot of critics remains: ° The inventory is still limited. ° The story is extremely flat. ° There are no auto-combat scripts. ° There are no strong melee fighters available at the beginning. ° Gaming is still too repetitive. ° No translation. ° Only one save slot. ° During the endgame, several missions get unclear. ° Leveling is too slow, and your party will be far from where you planned it to be when you finish the game. Especially, since leveling is capped at lv 70, and if you are unlucky, your party wont be specified enough to beat the final boss, which happend to me after 100 hours! Still, a great game, which suffers from too many downsides, a game with which i had a lot of enjoyment, as well as a lot of frustration. 82/100 points from my side, and definitely recommended, if one can live with the downsides of the series.

Truly outstanding game, and in my personal oppinion, one of the best card games out there! A game that combines nice (yet simple) graphics and sounds with an extremely well idea, balancing, community, cost-benefit ratio and AI, and furthermore, is very well developed, extensive, bug free and perfectly balanced. And above all that, the game is completely free of micro-transactions! I have played this game for years, many hundreds of hours, and still love to observe skilled players. At the start of the game, each player gets a deck of 20 random cards, 4 cards for each of 4 elements and 4 cards of a specific, chooseable class. Each turn, a player gets one mana for each card block, and can use it to sumon a creature in one of 6 different fields, or cast a spell. After that, the turn ends, and each creature automatically attacks the opposing creature, or, if the opposing field is empty, the opponent. And as simple as that may sound: this is one of the most demanding games i have ever played. You will need to think several turns ahead and overthink many opportunities each turn, to become a good player and achieve a high ranking. Still, it is very entertaining and motivating, never gets boring and combines lots of content for a small price. If you like card games, you cant do anything wrong with this game! 89/100 points, where the only downside would be dated graphics, a small community and no further developement...

Playing an overworked version of one of the best games of all times on a portable system and in 3D is like a dream come true! Not only does the game look absolutely amazing, so does the 3D effect as well, and the new hint system is a highly welcome addition! Sadly, Nintendo missed the chance to overwork and improve the game, by releasing a true remake: There still are very little options, f.e. isnt it possible to change the camera speed, there are no new areas, enemies, quests, items or skills, and no circle pad controls have been patched in, which i miss painfully... Still, even after all those years, the game remains amazing and might be the best game for the 3DS... 93/100 points

At a first glance, a superior CCG, as it succeeds in combining very simple game mechanics with a lot of charme, attractive and really different classes, permanent updates and a solid amount of depth, as no other game does. After the first euphoria, however, it gets clear that the game suffers from a lot of downsides as well: Players are pushed to spend money, and therefore, average opponents have very strong cards, against which it is hard to compete, even on the lower levels and unranked play. Be prepared for LOTS of frustration and unfairness, if you choose to play this game for free, or anything below, at the very least, 100 Dollar. Additionaly, randomness plays a bigger role in this game that it should. Too often are games decided by certain, game-breaking cards, lucky or unlucky draws or uncontrollable effects (f.e cards that deals x to y damage to all enemies, cards that attack a random character...). Then, the small card-pool leaves very little room for individualism, which has lead to a pool of "standard-decks", that you will find over and over, and that players with ambitions will need to use to reach higher ranks. And finally, the balance is suboptimal. First of all, does the second player get a significant advantage: not only does he get to choose between four starting cards instead of three, he also gets a card, that costs 0, grants one mana and counts as a spell! And then, no matter how good you play and how well your deck is prepared: If you are unlucky enough to face certain, usually legendary cards and are not in the position to deal with them immediately or finish the game within the next round, you will most likely lose. Examples would be Archmage Antonidas, which creates a fireball (costs 4, deals 6 damage) in the players hand for each spell he casts, inclusing those generated fireballs, or Echoing Ooze, which costs 2 and creates a duplicate of itself, including all buffs, at the end of the turn. Those downsides dont make Hearthstone a bad game on their own, as the game has to offer a lot as well. But only for those, that are in the comfortable position to build a deck thats strong enough to compete with every class and level... Finalizing, this could have been the best CCG of all time. In its very core, there really is an outstanding game. And if you get to the point where you can build yourself a high-end deck you really like, and only then, immense fun, extreme challenging gameplay and endless amounts of replayablity await. Thats also the point, where farming stops feeling like a neverending journey of stress and suffering, and begins to feel rewarding. You will get to love to get awarded, and to increase your collection, just by playing. Until you reach that point of comfort, however, you will learn to hate this game from the deepness of your heart. Playing will feel like work, progresses will hardly be noteable, you will get stuck in ranked play fast and other players will trample over you with their high-budget decks. Ive gone through both phases and talk by experience. So, do i recommend Hearthstone? If you dont plan to buy yourself into the game, this game doesnt have much good to offer, will annoy you much more than it will reward and i seriously recommend to skip Hearthstone and every other F2P or P2P competetor and play a CCG with no or little P2W aspects. If you like CCGs and are in the position and willing to spend a good amount of money into this game, this game is definitely worth it, will offer a good cost-benefit ratio and will reward you with a well amount of pleasure...
