The 4.6 user rating is laughable. Like the game definitely isn't perfect, but if you're a Pokemon fan then it's a hell of a lot of fun and if you're not then why are you buying a Pokemon game? Unfortunately however with every mainline series Pokemon since X & Y the hitsquad comes out and proclaims "this is my last Pokemon game, it's just not worth the money considering the lack of effort Game Freak puts into them." and they most likely never played the game in the first place. Then of course you have the people that don't hide the fact that they don't play the games and still trash it in the most patronizing way they can. Overall the game runs well on Switch 1 with short load times, but there are still some pop-in textures here and there (enough that it's noticeable sometimes, but not enough that it kills the experience). Pathfinding when commanding a Pokemon to attack needed some more work considering they can get stuck in a running animation for a few seconds if there's an object in the way since they'll just run into it and not around it. Also there is an issue with some attacks not landing due to size differences in Pokemon. Then there's some other minor things. Ultimately though the game is a lot of fun, especially when you don't have someone right in your ear telling you how you shouldn't be having a good time because of xyz-reasons. The real time combat is a nice change of pace from the core series, but I have found that it doesn't work for some Pokemon who otherwise excel in the traditional combat system. tldnr; good game with its share of flaws, don't listen to the haters it's still a lot of fun even if it's not perfect.

I would give this game an 8/10, but there's a few things about it that really drag it down and kill the enjoyment of the game. The kicking mechanic is absolutely horrible. It's not a challenge to make a field goal, it's almost impossible. If you can have a "classic passing" and "revamped passing" option, then why can't we have a "classic kicking" and "revamped kicking" option? Knowing that if you don't convert on 3rd and long down near the endzone you'll either have to just go for it on 4th or attempt to kick a field goal that should be a chip shot, but you're more than likely going to miss it is miserable especially if you're on the hash line which then makes it even a little more difficult. I've lined up 25-35 yard field goals from the left hash, had the arrow perfect, accuracy meter in the green, power meter in the green, and it goes wide left. Then the pass blocking is hit or miss. You're either getting more than enough time to pass the ball or you're immediately being hit and if you don't throw the ball within 1.5 seconds of the snap you're taking a sack. The problem with this though is it's not as if it's the occasional play you're immediately under pressure, but it's in stretches. You'll have an entire drive where you have all the time in the world to throw, and then next drive or two your O-Line was replaced by a peewee football OL or something. On multiple occasions I've snapped the ball and immediately (less than a second after snapping it) pressed the button to throw to a receiver only to take a sack or have the ball fall incomplete from being hit as I throw, which is ridiculous. Run blocking tends to be pretty consistent however, so idk why pass blocking did not get the same attention. Outside of that however the game play is generally pretty good, running feels great, as does passing when you get more than 1 second to throw the ball. If they could just make the pass blocking more consistent, and tone down the difficulty of the kicking mechanic then it'd be great. Both of these things aren't just a "me problem" either, seeing as these are common complaints online about the game, and these are also things I have discussed with friends who also have the game that have the same issues.

Obviously the turn-based combat mechanics and dice rolls for dialogue options aren't going to be for everybody, people like different styles of gameplay so no matter how great a game is that's going to be a hurdle for them if it's not the type they like. BG3 for me is one of the best games I've played in years due to the characters and attention put into the world. The story is good, it's not perfect. Gameplay depends on preference really, but for what it's trying to do it does it wonderfully. However as previously stated the characters in this game, particularly the companions are extremely well written which makes them feel more like people that characters; and the attention to detail that's spread across the maps in this game is phenomenal. Also one thing Larian did that should be standard in games going forward is motion capture of almost every single character minor or major in the game; as it really helps bring them to life rather than having someone trying to animate the character in a realistic manner.

The game starts out really slow for about the first 3 hours, but after that it opens up and really shines. The dialogue between the vendors and Basim could stand to be improved drastically though considering how it sounds like they just handed someone a piece of paper with a handful of sentences on it and told them to read it out loud and then called it good after one take. Gameplay wise though it's similar to all the AC games that have released since Origins, so if you like that combat then you'll enjoy it in this game. Story wise it is relatively short, and serves as a prequel of sorts to Valhalla, but it's a fairly standard AC story however it is nice to actually play an actual assassin that is actually focusing on taking down the order again which is something we haven't gotten since Syndicate in 2015. As someone who enjoys AC games I really liked it, but I could see people who aren't fans of the franchise finding faults with it.

Still holds up fairly decent in 2019. I would recommend graphical mods on PC of course to give it a little extra polish. However even though the combat is still a bit clunky it doesn't detract from what makes Mass Effect great which is the story, lore, and of course the characters. Mass Effect was a great game when it released in 2007 (2008 on PC), and it's still a great game 12 years later.

Even though I'm writing this review in 2019, I played this game at launch and I played through it at least 3 or 4 times. There were numerous technical issues, nothing truly major that I experienced though other than of course the facial animations of some characters. Graphically I thought it looked beautiful, however was disappointed many aliens such as the Asari used the same 2 or 3 models just with different textures applied. Whereas previous Mass Effect games may have used the same models at times, but they had enough varieties of models spread though out that it was unnoticeable. Personally I enjoyed the story, especially the final battle which I think is more how the final battle of Mass Effect 3 should've turned out. That being said there were story threads that were left open for DLCs instead of wrapping the story up properly. Especially the whole thing with the Quarian arc, which unfortunately is a DLC we'll never get to see. Ultimately a flawed game, but still a fun time for fans of Mass Effect or Sci-Fi in general that don't need things to be perfect.

Is the game fun? Yes, but it's also too simplistic. The world just feel empty, and it's banking completely on nostalgia. Rather than playing as Red and having your rival be Blue, they're both characters that appear elsewhere in the story. However it's still the same exact story as the Gen 1 games, but with the player character and the rival Trace (who is nowhere near as cool as Blue) taking the places of Red & Blue in the story. They could've at least come up with a new story, instead of rehashing the same story for the third time. There are some good features however such as the Pokemon roaming the overworld map, so instead of random encounters you can seek out specific Pokemon, and not having to go to the Pokemon Center to swap out party members. However even though you can have some amount of fun in these games, at the end of the day they're shallow.

In a sense this game is like you're on a roller-coaster and at the end your feet catch a wire somewhere and get cut off. It was fun right there till the end, and now you're just like f*** that s***. Other than the ending my biggest complaint about this game is that they totally screwed up the "Mission Journal" (those of you that have played know what I'm talking about), however that can be overlooked. Other than that the only thing left to complain about is how much less dialog choices there are compared to previous games, but I can overlook that too given how good the game is other than the ending(of course). There's more things I could complain about, but after that it's just more being nit-picky than anything else. Also contrary to popular opinion the day-one DLC is not actually crucial to the game, it certainly adds to the experience, but it needs to be criticized for being overpriced more than anything else. In summarization: the game is almost a masterpiece up until the surprise Cleveland Steamer you get at the end.
