I bought this on PSS for $5. This is a really good value for money and an enjoyable story that keeps you guessing until the final chapter (there are 13 overall). I liked the way the game is set, with very minimal instructions on how to play, but with helpful hints if you get stuck. My main gripe is with the controls, which are not intuitive and make gameplay a task instead of simply fun. The boss battles are diverse and interesting, but the controls make them annoying after some failed attempts. There seems to be some replayable value to get a different finish, but a single playthrough is enjoyable enough, with around 7-10 hours to complete the game in a leisurely way.

I should start by saying the graphics are absolutely stunning and will definitely help in following the story through its end (either good or bad). The hotel's layout where all the action takes place is rather easy to memorize, but the constant back-and-forth through levels seems somewhat forced, as one gets easily bored of walking for several minutes just to get an item seen a few minutes ago, but not available for picking at the time. The voice acting is generally solid, but the interruptions for dialogs seem exaggerated and, in many instances, unnecessary -- though they seem the only way to progress in the story. In conclusion, the producers did an amazing job with limited resources, but overall the story is predictable and unsatisfying. My final score is: 6/10

Even though I'm not a fan of adventure games and haven't played one since the 1990s, I've tried this on PS4 and immediately fell in love with it. The controls might be a bit difficult to master at first, but the build-in tutorials are very helpful. Also, the story might seem a bit silly (I didn't play the previous games, so it might make some sense overall), but I just couldn't put the controller down until the end, which took me around 8-9 hours to complete – which represents a much higher value than what I paid for it. On the other hand, the graphics, the voiceover, and the general look and feel are amazing! And the story and backgrounds are interesting enough to keep you going. This definitely deserves a solid 8 on my book.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope

Even though Little Hope is surely a step-up over the short and unsatisfying Man of Medan, it isn't as enjoyable as Supermassive Games' hugely successful first incursion in the survival horror genre, Until Dawn. The backstory is interesting and aptly told, and will keep you guessing until the third act. Also, the characters are believable to the point you care for them. My main criticisms are the lack of a manual save system, a poor QTE triggering system (which doesn't allow any reaction time), a few but very clunky camera angles, and a really disappointing and nonsensical conclusion. As a final note, the curator is the spitting image of Robert Patrick, and all his scenes are quite fun to watch. Final score: 6/10

Spider-man is just gorgeous in most aspects, even though its steep learning curve in terms of combat. However, as soon as you start to learn how things are done in this version of Marvel's Spider-man, you'll keep on coming back for more, since both the story, control and combat are absolutely amazing.

I think this is was the first game that I've played on the PS4 and that really sold the console to me. The beautiful atmosphere just kept me coming back to play in search of some sort of redemption or conclusion. This is also one of a very strict group of games that made me genuinely cry on a few occasions. The graphics are top-notch and the gameplay (despite its fair learning curve) is intuitive and rewarding. Besides, the main story and side missions are very entertaining. I highly recommend the Full Edition, which includes the original game and The Frozen Wilds DLC.

I think this game broke a record for me, for being the game I've put aside earlier, after playing it for just a mere couple of hours. I love the RE franchise, but the single game campaign is just atrocious and the AI is ridiculous. I'm giving it a 3 for including established characters like Leon and Jill in multiplayer, but the game is definitely subpar.

I tend to be generous with my score, as I've been a huge fan of Kojima's work over the last three decades (namely the MGS saga). However, this game, despite beautiful transition sequences and a solid cast, is nothing but a mess. I tried my best to keep on playing, but I've ultimately given up around chapter 6 -- the game is boring and the story just doesn't make sense. Hideo Kojima is someone I really look up to, so I hope his next projects get back on track. As for this game, it just didn't push my buttons.

This is really the direction all future RE games should follow. The atmosphere is tense, the characters are minimal but memorable. A very good game for those who are fond of the horror genre. My only complaint is that the game is rather short (I've finished it in about 7-8 hours) and there doesn't seem to be a real incentive to play it again.

Disclaimer: I'm a huge fan of the horror genre since the 1980s. With all the hype and a very promising premise, this game could have been an immediate classic – however, it only manages to be a Resident Evil franchise gone bad. There are some cool homages to the 1990s (like the funny movie posters and the DeLorean's from "Back to the Future") and some tongue-in-cheek humor (nonetheless, the inclusion of the developers studios in the game might be a bit overboard). On the downside, a very unpolished look that doesn't seem worthy of a PS4 release, tedious and frustrating backtracking for items, a very clumsy user interface, excessive load times between sections and incredibly difficult boss battles turn you off, which might deter you from finishing the game. Also, the final level is a mess – it is surely the most frustrating sequence of gaming I've ever experienced on any platform. Conclusion: I know this was developed by an independent studio comprised of a very short team, but at the discounted 40 EUR price-point I got it, it just feels as a plain rip-off.
