DIVE or DIE - Children of Rain9
Jul 24, 2026
A thrilling mix of colony management and sidescrolling survival horror. The game is
clearly inspired by Darkest Dungeon, Dredge, and other popular lovecraftian indie games, and probably by Dave the Diver, though I haven't played that one myself. The diving expeditions are short and intense, and the underwater map is very well crafted. The game makes clever use of metroidvania-style mechanics, and does a great job easing you into the game wiithout it feeling boring or tedious. The management part of the game is simple, but fun. 9/10.

Great atmosphere, great sound design. Pretty good graphics, native controller support. A bit clunky, but charming.

Alaloth - Champions of The Four Kingdoms0

Truly terrible in every regard. Movement, UI, hitboxes, writing, campaign design, etc. Also very annoying and unsympathetic devs that respond childishly to bad reviews in an insufferable, passive aggressive manner.

Pyrene9
Oct 14, 2024
I am impressed. I'm actually a bit burnt out with deckbuilders, and I feel like I've seen a thousand slight variations of the same tricks. Pyrene, however, manages to surprise me with a plethora of genuinely clever mechanics, and an overall fresh take on the genre. The game is very slick in its user interface and readability. It's one of those games where you just boot it up for the first time and you start playing, and everything makes sense. It does get mechanically complex though, which is a good thing. Pyrene is an excellent game, and most importantly, it's a lot of fun to play. I can safely recommend this game to any card game enthusiast or roguelite fan.

A new low in gaming. Can't believe Activision Blizzard thought they could get away with it. I hope a few million dollars scammed out of people vulnerable to psychological manipulation was worth throwing away the company's last shred of dignity.

Incredibly beautiful narrative driven roguelike. In 20 minutes I aleady loved this family more than any video game protagonists I can think of. Children of Morta is a must play if you are into the genre.

Crying Suns7
Feb 24, 2022
In Crying Suns you play as a clone of legendary admiral who has been awakened by a powerful AI because contact with the galactic empire has been cut off for unknown reasons. You then proceed to do an FTL-like run where you encounter events, upgrade your ship's systems, recruit officers, and learn more about the story till you beat the chapter's boss or die, in which case the AI activitates the next clone and you try again. The story is quite good, inspired by Dune and Aasimov's Foundation. In some ways this game is excellent, I really like the art, story, atmosphere, lore, living the power fantasy of commanding a battleship and giving orders to your officers, making life and death decisions as you jump from sector to sector. The space battles, however, are resolved using a very underwhelming rock/paper/scissors RTS game. Fighter beats drone, drone beats frigate, frigate beats fighter. It feels more like a mobile game than an actual PC game. Thankfully easy mode is truly easy, so one can play through the game for the story without having to redo sectors over and over again. As a roguelite, this game lacks quality and polish. Its beautiful pixel art graphics and solid writing will be enough to please many a sci-fi fan out there though. I recommend giving this game a shot when it's on sale, but don't expect to get dozens of hours of fun from this.

Fantastic, beautiful. A superb text adventure combined with a beautiful 2D exploration game. Topped off with a magnificent soundtrack and superb sound effect design. Would be a 10/10 if it weren't for some stutter issues.
