What the Constitution Means to Me

There isn't much to say about this filmed play that isn't already said in the movie itself. The film suffers from a lack of charm in the transfer from stage to screen. This is to be expected with any filmed stage performance. That pushed aside, What the Constitution Means to Me is an enjoyable, if sometimes misguided experience.

A found footage masterpiece. The movie is truly one of a kind. Tense, awkward, frightening... and strangely hilarious? Creep is a genre-bending film, and while their are some dumb horror movie cliched decisions that bring it down, that doesn't stop it from being a worthwhile viewing experience.

A super relevant story told through ultra-offensive, morbid, vile humor. McDormand gives a lovely performance as always, and guides us through her world of pain and redemption.

They really beat the whole Minnesota thing to death, yeah? Oh yeah, you betcha, they sure did. I would hardly call Fargo a thriller. Just because a movie has thrilling scenes doesn't make it a thriller. With all it's letdowns, Fargo is still a quirky, charming movie with great performances, interesting cinematography and an atmosphere that hugs you and then shoves you down a woodchipper.

I went into this movie with high expectations. That was a bad idea. Don't get me wrong, the performances and technical aspects are incredible. Gone Girl suffers from a terrible screenplay, but a lot of it is blurred by the phenomenal direction. Even with a master at the wheel, though, Gone Girl just doesn't stand for anything relevant, important, or even worth watching.

This movie absolutely speaks to young people. As much as high brow critics want to say it's centrist, this movie really spoke to me and got me riled up as a far leftist. It's extremely relevant, intelligent and professional. My only critique is that it was confusingly paced. It definitely could have benefitted from a longer run time.

This movie really surprised me! I thought it would be a really quiet, artsy, somber film (which it was), but it also was incredibly tense and even violent at points. There are so many tragedies that happen during the movie, big and small. The ending is blunt, hopeful and bittersweet; and excellent finale for a spectacular film.

One of the best films of the year. Charlie Kaufman has outdone himself with this project. Each performance perfectly melts into the unsettling backdrop. The dialogue is rich, while still somehow remaining intentionally shallow. What really separates this movie is it's ability to come off as a light comedy and a crushing tragedy all at once.

Absolutely heart wrenching. Without much dialogue, this film still has an incredible impact. The performances are all top tier, and the direction is focused and heartfelt.
