I liked this more than others Stunning visuals that look like a comic come to life. These are the best parts of the game, that and Lance **** amazing performance The gameplay is where it stumbles, it's not unresponsive but for a Hellboy game there could've been a lot more done as this just feels like a less ambitious Hades

I really liked this game. Is it the perfect return to form for the franchise?nope but it's a pretty solid title Basim is a pretty interesting protagonist (Who happens to be voiced by Agent Stone in the Sonic movies) and I found myself being invested in his story The gameplay is where I'm pretty divisive on. Whilst aspects of combat and stealth feel much better than the more recent titles, the parkour is still mechanically weak compared to the games of old. It's problem is that it's trying to be a love letter to the OG games whilst using the modern games parkour system and it just doesn't work quite well as Ubisoft thought it would Won't bore you to death with more words but all I'll say is that Mirage whilst not being perfect is a step in the right direction and I hope Ubisoft takes the right notes on what to do for the future of this franchise

Marvel's Spider-Man is a technical marvel (no pun intended) with some of the best graphics and gameplay animations in any superhero game but outside that I'm mixed on several gameplay decisions Pros: The visuals of NYC. Insomniac delivered when it came to designing the city. For a game where you'd mostly be swinging about they could've easily half assed it but they put in little details into the world Spidey's swinging animations transition very smoothly to each other giving the swinging a much needed cinematic flair The insane amount of suits from the comics and movies. It's a shame that something as simple as free suits have to be praised because of how modern games are but I thank Insomniac for not being greedy with them The gadgets and suit powers spices up combat Most of the voice cast gives very solid performances Cons: Even though the open world looks visually impressive, it's shallow in terms of what you can do an explore. Side content feels repetitive and the map itself is just set dressing for you to do side content. There really isn't anything expansive like say Rockstar Games, even Spider-Man 2 and 3 had interiors and those look worse than Insomniac's game The combat whilst being polished mechanically relies too much on gadgets to make it varied. As a Spider-Man fan I'm aware Peter is a smart character but without them, Peter's combo moveset is pitiful. The finishers and environmental throws are what saves the default/no gadget finishers from being totally depthless. We've had Spider-Man games in the past where the character had an expansive amount of attacks but it feels like we've gone backwards. I've played kid games with far more depth than whatever this combat system had to offer The traversal whilst looking pretty had the depth of a pencil. It's the most fun since Spider-Man 2 -WOS but that's a low bar and even though it improves upon the animation works of those titles, it still feels too handholdy and basic (Web automatically releases, Spidey floats when he's near the ground) cool things like loops, Spidey swinging from two webs are absent. Pair that with wall crawling and running being weak, it's hard for me to call it the definitive Spider-Man traversal The MJ missions aren't great and mess up the pacing of the game. Could cut them out and no-one would complain So whilst Spider-Man PS4 is the best Spider-Man game since the Treyarch days, it still has some flaws that prevent it from being greater than it is

Oh boy, on paper Spider-Man 3 should've been a superior sequel to Spider-Man 2. That game had some stellar swinging and some fun story and side content but was not without its flaws. Spider-Man 3 had the chance to remedy them as well as the fact that it being the first game to have a black suit that wasn't just an alt suit set high expectations So how does the final title fare? It's not bad as some make it out to be but it ain't amazing either Pros: The scale of the city is great and being able to freely explore subways and the sewers was a welcome addition. The number of interiors with no loading times is very impressive too Spidey's swinging animations have some work put into it. The QTEs too have some of the most exciting looking set pieces animation wise The various combos make combat feel varied and piledriving enemies from **** still feels fun as ever Cons: Spider-Man feels weak against petty thugs. Gone is the simple dodge button in Spider-Man 2. Now it's replaced with a Matrix style automatic dodge that's timed. On paper this is cool but the bar drains too fast meaning there are instances were you get hit not because you didn't press dodge but because the timer ran out The graphics look poor even for its time. Spider-Man 3 came out around the same era as Bully, God of War 2, Drake's Fortune and even Treyarch's own COD yet looks worse than all these games. Masked characters like New Goblin, Spider-Man, the Dragon Tail leader, etc all look fine as well as the vehicle models but boy are normal human models nightmare fuel The QTEs are overused. I don't mind QTEs in games as a whole but Spider-Man 3 spams the hell out of them. Want to swing through a sewer? QTE. I think most of the reception would've been less harsh if they weren't excessive Some mechanics from Spider-Man 2 are absent which would've benefited this game. You can no longer slingshot where ever you wanna be and can just do it in one location, gone is theaabilityto swing from helicopters and go to Liberty and Ellis Island and the air tricks feel like a downgrade too Side content too is hit or miss. There's some cool ones like gang wars but the cool side stuff from Spider-Man 2 like stopping giant mechs, sending sick or injured civilians to hospitals, stopping a civilian frim falling are only reserved for one or two side missions Overall Spider-Man 3 whilst not being awful doesn't feel like the leap Spider-Man 2 was from the 2002 game
