Awful, just awful. Makes Clash of the Titans look good. If you want Egyptian entertainment, see The Mummy series instead, much better and more entertaining. The only good thing about this movie releasing is I don't have so see that trailer anymore. Silver lining.

This is what comic based movies should be like! Had the theater laughing every 2min or more frequent - the jokes come fast and land 75% of the time. Little nuances and cameos here and there, but the content and quick banter make this movie enjoyable, plus a little 4th wall breaking. One thing to improve - focus on the main character...what really did the other "X-men" do? Not much, other than be a sounding board and joke fodder for our rebel. Definitely worth a theater visit, much better than the "doom and gloom" of the other Marvel/DC offerings.

Mildly entertaining. Some characters fell flat, while others were outstanding. When it ending, it seemed abrupt (like there was meant to be more)? In summary, wait for it on DVD or Redbox. Not worth the admission, unless maybe you like meta-movies.

Maybe a more reflective picture of Southern California, but the fact that people pay for personal trainers still today is a bit moronic. I get you may need help to get started, but come on! After a few months motivation should be planted and really easy to continue on your own. Now moving forward about the movie specifically - it's a bit of a mixed bag. If you can believe the terrible relationship story (unprofessional and weird involvement) that lingers through a few of the acts, its a bland movie at it's root. Don't see in theaters, might be worth a Netflix rental, but it is hard to hold on's attention on a movie that drags on such as this one. Don't waste your time.

Mad Max was a bit of a letdown, but still a good movie. Reminded me of older Mad Max films, with a certain "zombie-apocalypse" feel to it. I would say if you enjoyed the older ones, give this a try in theaters. Worth a rental for the action (once it's out on rental release). Probably a bit of the scope is lost on the small screen, and look for re-runs of this on TBS/USA in about 3 years.

I wanted to like this movie, honestly. But Marvel has become too big for its own good. In a few years, this will be the movie people point to when they say 'this is where it took a nose dive". Like Amazing Spider-man 2, there are too many characters and too much back-story that the director/writer tried to cram into here. What could have been a good development story for the main cast turned into a muddled affair of branched sequel set-ups for future movies. That's all Marvel has become honestly. The character development happens in the stand alone movies for good reason - they are the only focus. Maybe instead of messing with TV-like stories and cameos, Marvel should focus on character development only with one character at a time. This one could have been about Iron Man only, but instead it turned into multiple characters having flashbacks/flash forwards that it's hard to keep straight. Honestly I hope Marvel universe gets back to the normal stuff, like developing one character at a time. Also, same formula here for the first Avengers (bad guy steals something, beats the good guys once, twice, and the third time the good guys win!), although they added two characters to help the bad guy, then turn tail once they realize the motive. In summary, worth a rent to keep the story straight for later movies (and the expanded Marvel universe), but not worth the theater screening. Skip it and wait for DVD. See Mad Max instead.

A movie that is a long PSA on distracted driving and healthy eating. Premise was good (girl stops aging, falls in/out of love, loves someone new, wants to be mortal again, girl starts aging again conveniently), but the execution was terrible. I call this pseudo-science, because while stopping the aging process probably starts with freezing someone, jump starting back to normal temperature does not happen instantly. I feel like Blake Lively had a part in some of the dialogue, because some of it is too outrageous to believe an actual writer wrote it - ex) "Don't eat salt/sodium more than usual daughter" and "Take this street, that street please cabbie". Ridiculous. Harrison Ford is probably the only bright spot here, he delivers an emotional performance. All the other characters fade in and out, depending on what attachment Blake Lively has to them. Also, both instances of her dying/age stopping/rebirth happen due to car crashes. You would think after the first time, she would be more careful (or even after living for so long with cars) about distracted driving, but alas, afraid not. It is used here for plot points, and nothing else. In summary, wait for rental if you must see it. Not worth the ticket price in theaters.

Crazy to think consciousnesses and moral are what really define us as human beings. Movie brought up some great questions about morality, conditioning, and psychology. Can Artificial Intelligence be created to feel and think? Maybe, but what rules will it follow? Those are the questions raised by this movie. Really a plus in my book to get viewer to mull over for a while. In summary, one of the better movies this year so far. On par for entertainment as Elysium, but more thought provoking like District 9. Who knew people could feel sorry for a robot onscreen (of all places)?

It knows the audience - even makes jokes about typical Bond villain vs. Bond! Great action sequences (the church scene was ridiculous), but not much for the story honestly. I think a better main actor that fit the badboy bill - maybe a Tim Hiddleston or Andrew Garfield would have worked better I think. Colin Firth does a great job, as does the incredible Michael Caine (although limited in time), and SLJ is a treat as well. All others are second fiddle. In summary, see it in theaters. if you like Bond-like spy movies. I would wait for it on VOD or Redbox to be surprised.

An absolute bore. The only parts that captured my attention were the helicopter and sailplane bits. Everything else was ridiculous. Maybe they should develop the story a bit more in the next one. I don't know what all the fuss was about. In summary, don't waste your time on this one. See it on megashare or some other website. It's not worth the money the film is printed on. On the other hand, Danny Elfman did the score - so that's going for it, which is nice.

In a previous decade this movie would have been great. The story was well thought out in the first half (through the first kidnapping) but fell flat after that (to the second kidnapping). The visuals were great, the dialogue and acting was not great. Maybe it's just difficult to compete with Guardians of the Galaxy or Marvel series (truth be told, they blend action and humor well). Sci-Fi elements are here (heroine, rescues, dogfights, interstellar war) but ultimately it falls flat at the acting and back-end story (why is the heroine afraid, why does she go back for her family, why does the rescuer leave her side at all). I would say a cut of the second kidnapping alone could stand, but the way it is setup after the first kidnapping just doesn't make sense. In summary, see if you like Sci-Fi, otherwise just rent it.

It's difficult to judge what the overall goal was - on one hand, you feel like Chris Kyle is a true hero; the other, it's sad what he went through to get there. Very well-made with a flash-forward action sequence in the beginning, then a few flash-backs, then back to the "present-day" as it continues along. Very well presented. I'd say if this movie was released over Christmas time in the large formats, it would have been a slam-dunk for a movie instead of the bland re-hashes out there. In summary, if you want to examine the physique of a sniper, this movie delves in part to it. The other half however, does not present itself well - is the unexamined life worth living/dyeing?

A haunting film on a scale not seen in dramas. Carrell plays the character of a deranged billionaire to well I think (joking). Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo play believable brothers as well. Really haunting how it all happened, there are some epilogue pieces which should be watched. In summary, a sad drama about some terrible circumstances, but it's all true (the level of accuracy may be a bit much at times). See it if you like dramas, or sports montages. It had a very dark, moody feel to it throughout.

Meh, not worth the price. They could have gone a different route here, but I'm not a movie producer or director. Mildly upsetting the way the scenes played out, but in the end, a few jump scares and not much else. Horror movies should make you fear something, get scared of an idea or a possibility of something. This was more like a B-level horror movie and probably should have been VOD or straight to DVD. In summary, see the original again or see Insidious again - those are great horror movies. This one falls flat at around the 3rd or 4th act. Nothing to see here, move along.

Good pacing, average story. Keep me entertained, but not much else. Reminded me of the Taken series, except with more computers and supporting characters. There are a few good twists, but the love story felt forced (not sure why, it just did alright!). A few of the fellow patrons gasped at the fighting/explosion scenes, so there's that as well. In summary, wait for rental or VOD. If you must see a movie in the near future, American Sniper provides more emotional acting and realism than this movie. I'm hungry for Chinese food now.

Decent film about Alan Turing and his "machine" (computers in the early years were called Turing machines). Anyway, good performance from Cumberbatch, less so for Knighley (small role). Others are forgettable. Kinda of difficult to follow with flashbacks and present trading places often. Wish it focused only on war times or only on upbringing, but alas, it probably only works this way because it would be boring otherwise. In summary, worth a rent or if there's nothing else to see in theaters, otherwise, wait for it to rent on Redbox or AmazonPrime.

Great finish to an epic trilogy. Great movie for LotR fans, and any fantasy adventure fans. The overall movie wrapped it up nicely, making the bridge possible to the first LotR movie. While watching, was really saddened by the character losses, and equally felt the proud moments when everyone realized the true nature of their predicament. Never thought I could feel that for imaginary characters. In summary, see if you like LotR, the previous Hobbit movies, or any adventure films.

Disappointing. They should have had a long movie (only one) to finish the series. I read the book again after the second movie (wanted to find out everything about the ending!) and I must say, it was a quick read. Didn't even pay attention to the fact it was separated in 2 parts in the book, who knew? Anyway, this movie felt drawn out - probably because it was. There just wasn't enough material in the book to cover a 2 hour movie. The one saving grace was Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) - what little scene he had, was great, gritty, and raw (won't spoil it for you!) In summary, skip the theater and wait for rental (preferably just before the last movie comes out). This was a cash grab by the studio, producers, and everyone involved. I would honestly skip the theater if I could go back in time.

Meh, good for mild, mind-numbing entertainment. I'm sure in a few years, these movies will be on FX or USA on repeat for all to enjoy. In summary I'd skip the theater and wait for the rental to see it, if at all.

Hard to watch. Maybe I'm not as entertained by theater, but this movie seemed to blend the fantasy with reality. Keaton plays a mixed up character, with a host of equally messed up family/co-stars on the stage. In the end, some surprises I was not expecting, but kinda hard to watch and stay entertained. Then again, I've never really like "theater-type" productions, so maybe a little biased. In summary, see it if you like theater or the draw of "Broadway" production. Otherwise, wait for the rental to see it, if at all.

Good movie, did not expect this emotional rollercoaster. I'm a fan on science (whether fiction or non-fiction) and there's not much theory in here, just barely whetting an appetite for knowledge. Initial reaction is to feel empathy or sympathy for Hawking, but later you realize he's persevering, well past anyone's expectations (even his own, with the help of his wife). Great biopic **** among us, portraying the real struggles we all can relate to. In summary, good date movie, see it in theaters if nothing else is available, otherwise wait for it on Redbox or rental.

Holds your attention for the entirety. Jake Gyllenhaal delivers a strange, spot-on performance of an OCD, business-focused personality. His character was both terrifying and enthralling. Reminded me of Prisoners (although the characters were obviously not the same). In summary, see if you like crime dramas or character exposure-type films. Worth a rent when it comes out.

Few twists and turns, reminded me of Enemy a bit. More like a doppelganger, memory focused movie than anything else. It was great at hold your attention, building ideas and subsequently crushing your guesses about the plot. I would have preferred focusing on the memory loss subject, rather than the spouse. Colin Firth did good, Nicole Kidman did better. In summary, see if you like crime dramas, dramas, or other types of plot-twisty movies. I'd honestly wait for a rental.

Great movie, great story, superb acting and overall a must-see. Story followed a different path than most other sci-fi movies. Original story is a welcome feature. See it in IMAX - it's worth it for the visuals. I'll probably see this 2 or 3 times before it leaves theaters. Nolan does it again! Reminded me of a cross between Gravity, 2001: A Space Odyssey (space peril and action sequences), Inception (twists and levels), and 12 Monkeys (a bit of time-travel). In summary, see if you like sci-fi, see if you like Nolan's other films, see if you like original stories and space epics. Go see it man, it was great!

Great movie, touching and funny. Bill Murray was great, Melissa McCarthy was alright (smaller role) and the kid (new, this is his debut movie) was outstanding! Reminded me of Groundhog Day (Bill Murray's character) in mannerisms and attitude. In summary, see in theaters and definitely worth a rent. Would see again if able.

Worth the entertainment. Reminded me of an early Jet Li or Kill Bill type of revenge-ninja movie. Pretty much a revenge movie for dog lovers. Action was good at times, okay at others. Minor variations of blood/gore/shooting kills. In summary, see if you like those revenge action movies, worth a rent.

Good family film, even adults will laugh at the jokes. Ice Cube even gives a great voice part! Most of time it is really touching and heartfelt. In summary, see if you want a funny, feelgood family film. Worth a rent and possibly a theater visit if not doing anything and need a change of scenery out of the house.

A very family-centered film, decent film although it depends on who you ask. RDJ is great in this role, a different type of character than he normally plays. Robert Duvall great as well. Smaller roles for others, mostly forgettable. Story is cliche and predictable, except for final scene. In summary, worth a rent if you want a good simple movie without explosions. Wait for it on Redbox or Netflix.

Played out like the book it was written off of I suppose. Reminded me of a murder mystery/ crime book more than anything else. Also, had hints of those Dateline specials you see on TV late at night. In summary, see it in theaters for mood setting and presentation. Don't expect a date-type movie, it's more of a slow-moving thriller.

Decent movie about realities of war. To be honest, didn't watch many trailers presented on this because I wanted to be surprised. Good action, great acting. and superb presentation. Really felt the suspense in battle. Innocence lost in war was really the overall message of the movie - along the lines of Thin Red Line or the Platoon in terms of examinations of people involved in war. In summary, I would see this if you like war movies, worth a rent or theater visit. Just don't give it outrageous expectations.

Jason Bateman was the main character here, and Adam Driver made a convincing youngest brother. Others played small parts, including Tina Fey and Timothy Olyphant. Didn't really feel like a complete movie, just barely wrapped together Bateman's and Fey's characters by the end. All others don't have much of a back story. Wait for it on Netflix if you want to see it.

Good movie for what it was - a young adult book converted to a movie. Never read the book, and was surprisingly good. Worth a rent from Redbox or Netflix.

Played like a period drama more than an ex-cop drama. Liam Nesson was alright, I thought The Grey was better than this. He had the predictable one liners like "I'm not negotiating with you" and multiple killings. Watch it on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or if you must, Redbox. Not worth a buy.

Reminded me of another "I'll find you and kill you" type of movie - Paul Blart - Mall Cop. Seriously though, it was an alright movie, but lasted a bit too long. Chloe Martz-whatever was alright, small and predictable role. I would wait to see on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Not one of Denzel's best, I though his movie Flight was better than this honestly.

Slow burning spy movie. Reminded me of the Good Shepard mostly. Kinda felt bad for the guy caught in the middle (refugee/inherence gainer). In summary, if you like spy movies, see it if you can in theaters. Otherwise, wait for it on rental or online.

Decent film based on a young adult book you most likely read in middle school. Portrayed well by main character and female friend. Bridges and Streep had small supporting roles, as did Holmes and Skargard. Message here is to take risks and do the right thing - even if it's against the rules (and you knowing the right thing is not always easy or well-known). In summary, if you like the book, you might like this movie. II thought it was accurate and well done. Rent if you need to see it, although most book lovers might want to buy it.

Better than the first one by a long shot. I enjoyed every scene, except the ones with the Bard (who seems mild-mannered and not too leader-esque) and the barrel-river scene (which also was a bit long and somewhat ridiculous), but I digress. From Lonely Mountain on it was a great show indeed. Can't wait for the Battle of Five Armies. In summary, rent if you can. Buy if you like the LOTR and Peter Jackson/Tolkien series thus far. 3D not really worth the price honestly.

A bit longer than it needed to be, but I guess when you break up a single book into two movies some parts are going to be longer than required. Ending was great, finally Bilbo has a self-fulfilling act! I about cheered when he and Thorin made up. In summary, see it if you liked the LOTR series. Or if you like New Zealand scenery. Or if you like epics. Just go in with the notion it may last longer than needed. I bought it but rent if you're a not a Peter Jackson/Tolkien fan.

Great film, just watched it again today for the hundredth time it seems. Robin Williams great as Peter Pan regaining his form after he "grows up". Message from the film still applicable today: Be there for your young ones, at all times, especially when they are young. Someday we all grow up, although all to fast it seems. This movie allows you to think like a kid again, when things were simple. Music is better than I remember, very upbeat and great accompaniment to action and mood. In summary, great for kids and young-at-heart. I still watch this movie every year at least once. Buy it on DVD or Blu-Ray to continue the happy thoughts.

Decent film about prisoners of war and the resolutions of war. Colin Firth does a swell job playing a British officer dealing with PTSD decades after the war when he finds a captor still alive. The young version of the officer (playing during the war) is great, much better than Firth as an older gentleman. It was kind of confusing with the flashbacks happening so often, but I guess that's what happens when you make a movie that is all about the past. In summary, decent flick about war although not as good as it is hyped up in the trailers. I would rent if possible or see on Netflix. Not worth a theater trip or buying, unless you like flashback-type movies.
