Rating low because of the AAA pricetag for a buggy OKish AA game. This needed to be $40-50 for a 7/10. Getting stuck on low geometry during combat or losing a note to the awful and outdated UI had me raging more than once. I dont think these "Ex CDPR devs" were the cream of the crop.

Bugs, hitching and poorly implemented combat mechanics and camera... everything else is just OK to bad. I'd be much less critical if this game had released at $40-50, but the lack of polish and baffling gameplay decisions make this a regrettable purchase. Im pretty sure these "Ex-CDPR devs" were let go for a reason. This game tries to copy so much of the Witcher 3, and mostly fails. What they did manage to copy though are some of the worst parts, like the clunky movement or terrible UI. Wait for a deep sale and a bunch of patches.

Im honestly baffled at how awful the onboarding is for new players. I've only partially played the intro, so take my opinions with a grain of salt, but I couldnt summon anymore willpower to continue wasting my time in hope for a payoff. I was so astonished at how inept that first bit of gameplay was, I felt compelled to write a review. Do the developers know what a "hook" is? Did it cross their minds that starting a new game is always a gamble for the player? People need a reason to continue spending time in your world, and starting them off with meaningless word salad and a bunch of busy work is certainly a choice.... I JUST GOT HERE, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE WORLD HERE, WHY ARE YOU MAKING ME HUNT FOR ANSWERS ABOUT PEOPLE AND PLACES I DONT CARE ABOUT?!?! All I could think of during this opening section was about all the other games sitting in my backlog. Anything has got to be better than this monotone point and click, "work your way into caring about this game" non-sense. Also, it looks bad. Like they got raytracing on a PS1 game.

Boring. The game looks unique but none of the gameplay is. I could deal with that if the game wasnt so slow and heavily padded with overlong sections and combat Gauntlets. It feels like they wanted to make this game cinematic, but forgot that it needed to be fun to play as well. The gameplay often takes a backseat to the art direction and it usually ****. For instance, I fought in a room with a projector being the only light source, the projector was also skipping through different visuals. The light was playing on me, the enemies and the enemies in waiting, it sure looked cool, but it was a visual mess once the fight started. I constantly lost track of my character, it was uncomfortable for my vision and just really annoying. Not fun at all. This game needed to be a fast paced 4-5 hour game, not a padded slog that constantly left me wondering when the action is going to start. Everytime I thought it was going to, it just halted to a stop again.

This game ****. Ive played a ton of challenging games in my time, but this game is just frustrating. Far too many game design choices that result in difficulty for difficultly's sake, and I cant be bothered anymore. To be clear, I like challenging (but fair) games. I recently beat 9 sols. Silksong is not difficult to play because it's challenging. It's difficult to play because it is poorly designed.

I dont know what Team Cherry were thinking then they balanced (did they?) this game. Its not difficult, its frustrating. Long run backs, annoying tanky enemies, paying for everything. Youre also going to have to pay like 400 bells to make the map usable. The dash is locked behind like 6-7 hours of gameplay, I dont even know where to upgrade my nail. Ive explored as much as I can, and yet, im basically the same power level as when I started. This game ****. Like I said, so many bad game design choices.

I think the majority of these reviews came from people who haven't hit Act 3 yet. The story takes a huge nosedive, and the lore dump really doesn't work. I wish they had been telling the story of what happened throughout Act 2, instead of dangling the mystery in front of you with unintelligible dialog and mysterious figures. When the twist *does* come, it all just feels bad. It's too much. Especially all at once. Now I'm really struggling to find the motivation to finish the game because the characters, plot and setting all feel so arbitrary.

The first 20 hours or so are magical, and then act 2 happens, and the story takes a nosedive. I was BEGGING the writers to stop with the drip fed and unintelligible story points. For ONE scene where it was "Hey so this is a bit of what's actually going on", but I got through because I still enjoyed the gameplay for the most part. Now I'm at the beginning of act 3 and I'm really struggling to find the motivation to finish it, I just don't care. I really think they could have made the story work if it was paced out better, instead **** lore dump at the end of act 2. It's actually an interesting twist, but I really couldn't keep up with how much **** they dump on you. Now I'm just trying to summon the effort to finish it, because frankly, I don't really care about the world I'm trying to save anymore. Pros: Battle System, graphics Cons: Story
