THE FINALS0
Jun 8, 2025
The Finals is what happens when highly skilled corporate people creates a game. Its very polished, looks great and performes well.
It's also lacking in soul and heart.
The whole game feels like an empty shell that's been painted with the most expensive colour. It's no surprise that Embark is filled with c-suits from EA and Dice, fuled by money from Nexon, the greediest of Korean game publisher. You'll end up playing The Finals for about a week, before realizing that there's nothing behind the surface.

Mario Kart World10
Jun 6, 2025
Mario Kart 8 was the best this series could be in its original form. In Mario Kart World they've kept the series essence while transcending that perfected formula into something completely new. Nintendo has delivered on their new vision and players who buy this game will most likely be playing with old and new friends for years to come.

Even though the main plot is the same, every run is a new adventure and not only a chance to tackle the same enemies in different ways. The card battles are nuanced, the replayability almost endless and both story and style is well made.

Windbound2

There are some things that this game does right, like the feeling of heading out on uncharted waters. But when everything around those few good moments is full of clunky movement, bad design choices and bugs, then it's really hard to forgive this game. The worst design choice is the difficulty setting this game wants to be played on. Having potentially hours of progress erased everytime you die is a really stupid decision in a game where there is so much trial and error. Also, when the overall gameplay is both tedious and unintuitive you get bored really fast if forced to repeat everything over and over again because of something stupid the game did.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons10

Taking Animal Crossing to new heights. Yes, there are some limitations, like only having one island per switch. But the amazing gameplay offered here more than makes up for that. And let's be honest, this is not an evil Nintendo scheme to sell more consoles, it's a classic Nintendo limitation to make players play and have fun together. Which is actually working really well in my household.
