The underlying plot about a mom who will do anything to support her family actually has a rather wholesome foundation--and virtually mirrors ABC’s new drama “Red Widow,” except Client List is done with a sense of fun and flair.

We’re not likely to lose the massage parlor aspect.... But The Client List is also getting confident enough in its characters and their soap-style life dramas that it’s spending less time with Victoria’s Secret. Call it personal growth.

The show is ludicrous, nonsensical, dopey, and pretty fun--so, basically the perfect sort of TV show to be airing on Lifetime.

The Client List wants to have its beefcake and eat it, too. Just beware the gristle, which would be the scripts.

After watching two episodes, I'll admit to being mildly curious about what happened to Riley's husband. But I can't bring myself to sit through more of this silliness to find out if there's a happy ending.
