Prison Break has the dark social hierarchies of Oz and the clever inventions of Escape From Alcatraz.

As with "24," the whole enterprise, however action-packed, would fall flat if viewers didn't care about the characters, and "Prison Break" doesn't disappoint.

Prison Break embraces its ridiculousness, allowing you to check out mentally after a long work day. If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, if you want to break down a show more intellectually, there are plenty of other options.

After a crackling good start, Prison Break begins to wobble but doesn’t quite topple in succeeding hours.

The frantically violent mayhem, including a tasteless cannibalism gag, is paced swiftly enough that you can almost ignore the silliness of a show that isn’t above resurrecting characters long thought dead. Still, it beats last year’s miserable detour in a Panamanian sweatbox.

The premise, though bold, isn't as revolutionary as the "24" format, and the pilot is seriously lacking in thrills for an alleged thriller.

Pitifully awful.

I would say my review might not be totally accurate due to not being able to finish season one, but it is what it is. I watch stupid shows that are nonsensical to feel good, but this is a level of stupidity that is just an insult to **** gets out of the most insane situations, character actions and personalities shift for the plot and don't follow properly, and the biggest problem of all is the coherence. Every scene is stupid, and more improbable. The base plot doesn't even work, there is 0 way in which his tattoo ressembles the plan even a little bit, without counting the weeks of healing it would require, it's also just so bad. Every scene you will find yourself thinking "there is 0 way this would EVER happen in real life or a prison" and at first it's funny but then dude is breaking actual cement with one feet kick and you want to throw your head against a wall. You don't have to be terribly written to be an easy show. This is good if you want to turn off your brain though, beware it is previsible. I had a pretty good time for the first episodes though.

The episodes until they escaped from prison and were on the run for a while became funny, even fun to watch, but then they didn't seem to have any more creativity to fill in the holes to keep evading the police and it started to get a bit repetitive with scenes without any conclusion, or when there was a conclusion it was always to the negative of the situations. That feeling that now they're going to win after all was just a lie, repeatedly became a total bore and waste of time, then the end of the series is simply stupid without any conclusion.
