One element that separates good from great in this genre is characters who can bounce off each other in an array of pairs and groups. Early on in “Loot,” it is evident that various combinations of the foundation team are a hit, whether the chalk-and-cheese Molly and Sofia pair to the odd-couple friendship between Nicholas and IT expert Howard (Ron Funches).

Even without that deeper layer of introspection, Loot is a hoot. Just watching Funches, Faxon, and Booster bounce their wonderfully disparate comedic energy off one another is worth the price of admission.

Ignore the rating on this one, (Not All) but some comments and reviews about this show are based on bitter ignorance of LGBTQ and Wealth status. Some of the comments have been dark. I watched three episodes about a person living in someone else's shadow, who when she freed herself had no sense of direction. Loot has a great story to tell if we look past the one percent wealth topic, which seems to be the second topic distracting some from what I think are very relatable messages. Rudolph and the rest of the ensemble deliver heartwarming scenes while also using comedy to point out moments where we can all seem a little tone-deaf to what is happening in front of us. What I like is that it’s relatable regardless of how much money is in a person's pocket. Showrunners also do a great job at pointing out how easy it can be to lose your individuality once in a relationship. Loot succeeds at being a light-hearted, feel-good comedy equivalent to watching shows like The Office, Parks-And-Recreation, or The Mindy Project. I look forward to seeing how the characters and story develop over time. As always, if you made it this far, thanks for reading, and if you watch this series, let me know what you think. Despite centering on Molly’s burgeoning love life and reconnecting with her family, the characterization still feels fragmented. It’s a good thing Sofia, Nicholas, and the others surround her, but even their backstories aren’t fleshed out enough. Luckily, the cast holds its own and makes Loot an easy watch, with the season finale perfectly setting up what could potentially be a far more uncompromising future of the show.

The first season of “Loot” is most often a pleasantly frictionless workplace comedy. But the moments in which it’s not — whether by pushing Molly to become more self-aware or into situations where her money’s genuinely useless — are the show’s most compelling by a long shot. ... One of “Parks and Rec”’s greatest strengths was establishing a believable core group of characters that made going to work with them a treat rather than a chore, and the same holds true for “Loot.”

If Loot had the courage to invest a little bit more in Molly’s money-losing mission and a little bit less on easy sitcom stereotypes then its stock would rapidly rise. For now though it’s a reliable fund of cheap laughs. And we could all do with more of those.

In its first season, Loot doesn’t quite get there. But with the reset promised by its finale, maybe the show will have a chance down the line.

What’s left gives us nothing of the things we might want from a show like this with this much talent. We don't get a show that incisively outlines the boundaries between race, class, gender, wealth or sexual orientation. And we don't get a show in which we get to marvel at all of the abilities any of us who've been watching Maya Rudolph since her days at “Saturday Night Live” know that she has.

It’s just okay but light and easy to watch. Frustrating the acting is over done at every turn. Makes it distracting.

I really like Maya Rudolph and for what it's worth there are a few good jokes in the show.
For the most part however, the humour consists of blatant racism and disregard towards white people, heavy alphabet policing and just general left wing fringe mentality.

Yet more stupidity from the lunatic left, pushing their sick agenda. I generally like Maya’s stuff but the plot and most of the characters in this show really are insufferable. Give this a wide berth.

Michaela Jaé (MJ) Rodriguez is the worst actress in the entire world. She takes all the joy out of every scene she is in and she is a central character, second only to the talented Mia Rudolph. She has no personality, no charisma, no chemistry with the other actors, and is about as talented as a piece of poster board. It is amazing how much she distracts from what would be a decent show. If she had a bit part or if she was entirely removed the show this show would be much more enjoyable. I would rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than hear her anoying voice. I am not sure how she ended up in a show with this calibre of actors but she is completely out of place. She is so bad at acting that she makes J-Lo seem talented. It really is a shame that she was cast and I am completely unfamiliar with any other work in which she has had a part. If the show wants to get better please write her out. I am not sure I can stand another season with her in it.

Wow, this reviewis only for Michaela, I was actually very happy to see her in something else because I thought she was amazing in Pose, but it seems that she was amazing there because the character fit her perfectly the character on this show is kind of the same person just with different clothes completely emotionless there's no motion on her face there's not emotion on her voice everyone else has so much range on their faces and voices that Michaela really stands out as just plain. It actually makes the show incredibly annoying to watch just because of this actress. I don't know what it is with her voice but there is no emotion or high-pitching or low-pitching it's like she's completely emotionless. I don't think her face has botox but that would explain why her face is emotionless as well. In every scene I see her I question was she good in Pose? I loved her in Posé but why? Because she's ruining loot on her own :(
