Like almost every late-night show ever launched, it will need some time to settle into itself, but the first week suggests that Singh is charismatic and original enough to pull it off. ... The least impressive segments were the ones that felt most directly aimed at introducing Singh to the audience. ... Even better and more promising for Singh’s show in the long run is that within the first week she demonstrates that she’s a funny, fast, and magnetic interviewer.

If hosting a late-night show is a marathon, Lilly Singh bounded into her NBC series with plenty of energy, some promising moments and a few easily corrected stumbles.

The best way to end my night! Lillys authentically herself and truly hilarious. Her connections with the guests make the interviews so interesting!! So worth staying up late for!

Singh’s opening monologues operate more like abbreviated stand-up sets, tackling broad topics like marijuana legalization and not getting the sex talk from her parents. The rest of the half-hour episodes belong to extended celebrity interviews and videos that feel too much like saggy “SNL” sketches rather than Singh’s own. ... What’s most interesting (and promising) about the first week of “A Little Late” is how much works because of Singh’s in the moment stage presence.

I love me some Lilly! I'm ecstatic that Lilly got her own talk show! She's been hustling for YEARS and she totally deserves this platform. Every episode makes me laugh out loud and she's really pulling on some great guests! Her monologues are original and hilarious EVERY NIGHT. They truly customize the content to each guest and you get the feeling Lilly fully owns this process. She is beautifully and apologetically herself and I LOVE it. I wish other entertainers felt as free as Lilly does, and were able to use their public platform for such originality and freedom of self expression. This show is a diamond in the rough and a joy to watch night after night.

It has potential. Lilly has pretty good personal stories and fine timing, but so far the comedy bits are falling a bit flat and the audience doesn't seem fully engaged. (The accusations of racism are misinformed and probably come from people defending Shane Gillis and "PC culture.")

Lilly Singh should stick to vlogging or whatever Youtube channel she came from. Woke stand up comedy that consist of "Orange man bad" "Middle america is racist" and "I'M A bI-SeXuAL BrOwN GiRL" get tired fast. It's obvious that the small audience that is there is well paid. This show is not worth the time or effort.

I'm not really into it, but i have only seen a few episodes. They made it feel like it was a little too late in the night though... made me sleepy.

While not as insufferably bad as some of the reviews would make it out to be, the awkward, cringey, and unentertaining skits and monologues make for a show that feels over scripted and lacking any real character or identity of its own. It’s not TERRIBLE, but I wouldn’t willingly watch it; and definitely not stay up late for it. I feel a strange feeling that if she weren’t a colored women, this show wouldn’t have been aired in the first place. Don’t be fooled, all the 10/10 user reviews are just her fans from YouTube coming together to make sure her feelings don’t get hurt, which I’m sure will eventually be her downfall. Proof yet again that the very essence of this type of childish and fast paced humor never translates well into mainstream shows. Wouldn’t NOT recommend.
