Time Trap is highly creative, populated with relatable characters, with a whip-smart script. Sadly, the very end of the movie undoes the tense atmosphere setup throughout. While it does not ruin the film, it does leave one a bit disappointed.

Time Trap is a superficially entertaining science-fiction action/adventure film that might have worked better had it focused more on the “science fiction” elements and less on the halfhearted “action/adventure” ones.

Time Trap is a good example of the fact that a good film can be made for as little as $3 million. There are no expensive sets, there is no yawning cast, there is no expensive CGI. But at the same time, Time Trap has an interesting story, a little Sci-Fi and excellent use of time as another actor. Everything in the film turns into a circle of interpretation of time. It's so easy to actually show that it doesn't require big budgets and expensive scenes in CGI. Quite simple pair of videos on the home camera. Yes, if you soberly evaluate Time Trap a completely passing film that cannot withstand comparison with any more less serious film on the topic of time loops or time travel. But I don't want to compare at all, Time Trap is a good film in itself. If you're not chasing maximum showmanship then watch Time Trap, it's a good movie for your budget

I really liked this movie. No political agenda whatsoever, just good film making, and it didn't need a huge budget or a bunch of flashy special effects to do it. Very refreshing. This is how movies are supposed to be made. Not sure what the critics were thinking giving this such a poor rating, but it seems lately there's a huge chasm between what movie goers like and what movie critics like.

The result, directed by Mark Dennis and Ben Foster (not the actor) from Dennis’ script, is a handful of intriguing ideas in search of a more cohesive and dimensional narrative.

It’s not the worst time travel tale ever, but it does earn the most dismissive assessement you can give a movie in this genre. It’s not worth your time.

Surprisingly good scifi. Thoughtful and interesting but still exciting for a nearly single set movie.

There is something engaging about this when it probably shouldn't be engaging. It has a certain charm and good pace, overall anyway, that holds your attention. The negatives are pretty plain to see, from annoying characters, below average acting, stereotypical and unimaginative characters. Actually I'd compare the acting to a soap opera style of repeating lines with contorted faces so this can be blamed on bad casting. I didn't like the cinematography. What I did like was the story, pace and direction, this is what made this engaging. There are some plot holes and logic gaps but nothing you can't justify with a stretch of the imagination. Except maybe that only a handful of people have ever been to the site in the history of man and have trapped there which seems unbelievable. The title probably should have been Time Cave. Anyway I'm digressing, the fight choreography and cinematography is pretty bad, the exciting moments are actually a bit stale which is a shame. The cave men with underpants and perfect teeth are distracting. The pacing fails in the second half but picked up again at the end. Overall perfectly watchable but nothing special.

(Mauro Lanari)
A rather ambitious sci-fi B movie, where however every twist thickens and does not dispel the logical inconsistencies.

What on earth am I watching? Supposed smart man professor type doesn't realise he's gone forward in time. Chucks all of his glow sticks in the entrance to the cave he's exploring. Needs his "expert" typical jock/cheerleader teen team to come rescue him. Also generic children who hate bugs / cocky tween girl turn up to help.
