Comedy is most effective when it’s taking a risk. Here, the directors took a big risk, and managed to finesse something shocking and novel out of the familiar Franco-Rogen dynamic without overplaying their hand.

The North Korea scenes are often very funny, with many of the jokes coming at the expense of the fish-out-of-water visitors.

Considering how its inflammatory ambition and scattershot execution put it closer to Spies Like Us than The Great Dictator on the political comedy spectrum, The Interview should ultimately stand as the boastfully juvenile lightning rod that modern American culture deserved — no butts about it.

I didn’t laugh once, but there were several lines that, in context, got a wide fool-grin out of me.

Hate to say it, but this film ain’t half the satire it could have been.

Undeservedly controversial comedy lacks both laughs and nuance. The best bit they could come up with is Seth Rogen shoving a rocket up his bum.

In the real world, a debate has been raging over what does and doesn’t constitute torture. In the movie world, there’s no debate; watching The Interview is torture from almost start to finish.

This movie wasn't afraid to touch on the topics of North Korea and beautifully work them into a narrative which never fails to deliver in the aspect of entertainment and humour. The characters are really what push the movie here. Seth Rogan and James Franco are a funny duo that shine the most when they're on screen together, Diana Bang makes Sook a loveable character and Randall Park succeeded in adding character and life to a real life person who is said to lack both This was an enjoying watch and the jokes always tended to deliver and were never overshadowed by the action that was going on or the plot. I like when films tend to break the modern "taboos" placed down by society and create a piece of art that's unique, true to the creators vision and memorable and the interview has become one of my favourite comedy movies for doing so

Has some real funny moments but they come few and far between. Would of benefited from a tighter script and shorter run time.

I thought it was funny and good popcorn movie, nothing much more. But overall good for passing time and having some laughs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony hacked themselves to help create some buzz for this stink-fest. The controversy and the international issues it caused were much more entertaining than the actual movie itself. Not a good film.

since i haven't seen it and judging from the comments of everyone this is one i will definietly pass on. they will make a lot of money. people will go out to see it, just because of the subject matter, and the quality of the movie makers. stupid and "funny" because they are told it is funny is usually very popular.
