What can I tell you? It works. Private Parts is a comic firecracker with a surprising human touch.

While PP does contain the lesbian-toilet-poo-poo-homo-butt kind of humor you would expect, (Ba Ba Booey) underneath that, there is a real movie there with fully developed characters and engaging conflict. It's an absolute must-see.

This is a great movie. Recaps Stern's radio career and life until his NBC days. If you're a Stern fan or know anything about Howard Stern, watch this movie. Baba Booey Baba Booey

Howard Stern is the most misunderstood person in America. People don't like him, because of his sense of humor, but what they don't realize is how much more lies beneath the surface. Private Parts is the story of Howard Stern, from his upbringing to his marriage, and of course his radio career. It's one of the most honest films you will ever see, being that was written by and starring the man who the film is about. Besides being very very funny, the film gives you a look inside the life and background of one of America's most controversial figures. Even if you are a Stern hater, watch the movie, and then see if you feel the same way. The more you know about someone, the harder it is to hate them, and I think that's part of why Stern decided to do this film.

Private Parts is so riotous that you almost don't remember how unfunny Stern can be on his radio show.

The question hanging over Private Parts' financial success is whether enough non-Stern fans will venture to see what they may view as a "cult" or "niche" film. Most who take a chance, regardless of what prejudices they harbor against WXRK's top personality, will find themselves rewarded by a surprisingly pleasant two hours.

Unfortunately, the movie is likely to earn more money than praise. If it showcases him in all his glory, it also shows what little glory there is to celebrate.

Private Parts, lifted from Stern's best-selling autobiography, is a choppy amalgam of "Revenge of the Nerds," "Father Knows Best" and "Network."

Christian Science Monitor
Some scenes paint a convincing portrait of Stern as a witty opponent of stuffiness, prudery, and hypocrisy. Others mix gross-out humor with nasty doses of racism, sexism, and homophobia that reveal a dark side to Stern's professional personality.

An entertaining and funny enough movie that for something involving Stern has a fair amount of warmth. Biggest problem, if does come across as a vanity project.

I remember watching the movie when I was around 18 years old on TV and laughing my guts off. Now, being more than 40 years old I realize how damaging both this movie and HS's show have been to our culture. It would be unfair to say that this man alone is responsible for the decline of Western civilization because many men came before him during the 20th century and undermined the fabric of society before he was even born. I would like to believe that he has done all he did in an attempt to bring laughter and joy to people, although only Christ has the right to judge the hearts and intentions of men. The problem is that, however good his intentions were, his disordered humor trivializes things that should not be trivialized. There is not much of a difference between a guy taking a dump in the middle of the street and a guy doing it on live radio before an audience of thousands of people. If we ask ourselves honestly "has HS' s Show made the world a better place?" unfortunately we all know the answer.
