Something only Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires could do is explore the important role that gods play in the story. Yohualli Coatl is the chosen figure of the Aztec bat god Tzinacan. The inclusion of the gods and that mystic origin of the Dark Knight make this story distinct, mysterious, and a treat to slowly unravel.

Its really good, this deserves a sequel because its writing is awesome, voice acting was great, the music referenced michael keatons batman and it just felt absolutely smooth, the only weak point i could find was that the animation needed abit more detail at specific point, but overall the movie was amazing.

It's a more coherent and interesting story than many of the other recent additions, although flawed, and quite basic in animation. Some of the voice acting is not good, like from Jorge Gutierrez who is clearly more suited to comedic roles than serious ones, or from Raymond Cruz in the English version, whose character sounds so unnatural. Overall though, it's a vibrant and somewhat fun story, and, especially if I was younger, I'd imagine I'd quite like it. My expectations, of course, for animated Batman or any DC films has been very low, but it's the first one in a while I haven't struggled to get through. I will say also there's something very cathartic about this alternate universe with a proper resistance to the conquistadors as well. It's a fun one if you don't overthink it.

'Aztec Batman' sounded more appealing on paper than it ultimately turned out to be. For much of its running time, it feels more like a lengthy educational video about the Spanish conquest than a superhero adventure. The animation isn't anything special, but the alternate designs of the iconic characters at least look good. I would say that the best thing about the film is Omar Chaparro's Joker—the most twisted and interesting version of the character yet. Perhaps the biggest problem with the film is its insistence on staying so closely tied to historical events. In the end, it almost feels like we're reading the Wikipedia article on the Conquest, but with a Batman "skin" slapped on. It's not terrible, but it's far from memorable.
