Overall great game, It forces you to always change your perspective with really well crafted puzzles but a few of them don't click immediately, Also the game keeps on the edge of your seat for an entire chapter waiting for a jumpscare that never happens which is something i absueloutly love The only reason i rated it 9/10 because of the bouncy castle puzzle and the apple-fan puzzle both confusing puzzles for me
Superliminal is an incredible puzzle game, maybe even better than Portal series, with using the perspective & visible size to edit angle an the actual size of every item you can, and philosophical meaning of our point of view.
The game is really original and the story is really interesting. The art style is s little bit basic first looking but while playing, all the environments have their originality and are different snd that’swhat I love. That game play a lot with your head in a great way. The puzzles are good but sometimes can be annoying but this not in the good way like when we have to make the exit sign bigger to make it go on the two buttons and then it don’t go on the buttons or go on only one outta two buttons, it’s really annoying.
Pros Clever and satisfying, they keep you engaged while subtly challenging your perception.Philosophical Depth: The game explores themes of consciousness, fear of failure, and the power of perspective.Perspective Shifts: It teaches you to see obstacles from new angles, often transforming what seemed impossible into something solvable.Narrative Voice (Dr. Glenn Pierce): His reflections are poetic and profound—especially the line: “The problem is not that the problems we face are unsolvable. The problem is that we are so afraid of failure that we refuse to see our problems from a new perspective.” This message resonates deeply, encouraging players to confront their fears and shift their mental lens.Additional Highlights:Emotional Tension: The game occasionally builds suspense through sudden tonal shifts, making you wonder, “If I go this way, will I fall?” That uncertainty adds a layer of psychological thrill.Environmental Symbolism: The moon following you, the stars disappearing when viewed from certain angles, and the illusion of windows painted over—all reinforce the idea that reality is shaped by perception.Vending Machines & Sodas: Limited interactions (like machines shutting down after two sodas) subtly critique consumerism and control.Clocks & Time: Some clocks show different times or lack numbers entirely, suggesting that time in this world is subjective—another nod to the fluidity of perception.Cons:Motion Sickness: The shifting perspectives and visual distortions can cause discomfort during extended play.Technical Bugs: A few glitches (like unintended jumps or inaccessible areas) disrupt immersion and can be frustrating.
Absolutely fantastic game. It has plenty of twists and an enjoyable yet easy to follow story. The game ends with a lesson that can really make you think about the game and even your own life. I highly recommend this game for people who enjoy puzzles and having to think outside the box. It is a short game but is the best I have ever played.
Neat little game by the people who made the witness. Its relatively short but it plays well and does a good job of making you think about how to solve the ever-changing puzzles and as long as you remember the rule of. Perception is reality you will get through it. Most of the time when you get stuck is cause your trying to look at things to practically which is always funny to laugh at when you realize your taking the game to literally especially since its all about dream therapy. solid 8/10 just wish it was a bit longer and the commentary/story was deeper as it came off as very surface level and solely existed to create the environment for the puzzles which wasn't really necessary
The amount of illusions there is are crazy I like that you shrink or enlarge objects to navigate through each level is incredible a very good game if your into puzzles
Its one of the best concepts for puzzle solving but the way the puzzles are is very frustrating at times. While the story and narration is very fun and interesting it is hard to complete all the puzzles without a few tutorials along the way, at least for me
This game is puzzly type of games , its not that bad or good . Its a little bit complicated , like take the object and look upwards to makeit bigger ,its worth playing and finish it , but i do not recommend you to play it on xbox or ps , because its 30 fps

Superliminal is one of those games that you are happy that you know, because it's a perfect mix of good soundtrack, good puzzles, good design, it's innovative and it have a moral lesson that makes you change your way to think about your life. One point that many people think that makes this game worse its the duration from it, You can beat the game in almost one and a half hour in the first run and almost forty minutes in the other runs, but I think it's a very good point, because it makes you want to get to the end and discover what's waiting for you in the next chapter, don't wasting your time with boring and long puzzles and sidequests. Besides everything I have said, Superliminal platinum trophy isn't boring, actually it's pretty fun, because when you get the collectibles you unlock new and very fun functions in the main menu. The moral lesson in the end of the game just makes it more unic and even inspiring, I would say that it changed my way to think about my problems and my life choices. The voice and the lines of Dr. Glen Pierce are just perfect. Superliminal explores many different feelings, for example: it has a horror part (that doesn't have any jumpscare or enemy), some parts that make you think you have already been there, making you confused, some relaxing parts, etc. I can affirm that this game is one of, or even the best game I have ever played, I would reccomend it to anyone I saw in the street. Just play this game, you won't regret, It's just perfect. Beans.
I remember seeing a video showing this game off years ago over on Tumblr, and I was blown away by how creative and mind-trippy it all seemed. I completely forgot the name of it, but I always remembered the video, so a few years later I went hunting for what the game title was to play it for myself and found Superliminal. This was a genuinely super neat concept. I dig games like this, and it didn't overstay its welcome to the point that the puzzles and core mechanics lost their novelty for me. Might replay it on stream or something when it's been long enough that I've forgotten the solutions. This is the kind of game where seeing people's reactions to it all would be fun.
Conceptually captivating, complex, and creative asf. The voice over work by Max Howarth was perfection, the automated protocol voices fit perfectly, and it was interesting to see how even they had some depth to their characters. From the dread and emptiness to the strange moments of tranquility, this game, nails the liminal aesthetic, which is a rare quality. It isn't overly corny like a lot of the backrooms-style games. It has fantastic sound design, and spot-on visuals (Though I wished for there to be a little more customization with the graphics settings). I also admired the inclusion of secrets and obscure achievements. There is a ton to explore. That being said, this game still has a lack of replay-ability. From an artistic perspective, it kind of adds value in that way. The experience of the first playthrough cannot be recreated, and this game sort of embraces that. It became a one of those rare experiences that genuinely impacted my life in a positive way. I first played this game 5 years after it came out. In this day and age, things become dated FAST . To my knowledge, this is Pillow Castle's only game. I like the added modes, but I wish they would focus on making another game like this one, or something entirely different.
This was one of the most disappointing gaming experiences I've had in a long time. The core concept is very cool, but I spent much more time trying to find the puzzles than I did trying to solve them. Often the first step is to look in some deliberately obscure place to locate the object you're supposed to be manipulating. Multiple times, you're put in a dark, empty room with seemingly nothing you can interact with. I finally gave up when they put me in a totally dark room with an endless pit. After straining my eyes to try to find literally anything on screen and spinning in a circle clicking to see if truly anything would happen, I shut down the game and haven't looked back. I wanted to solve your puzzles. Why would you go to such lengths to hide them? The obvious comparison here is Portal. When you walk into a test room in Portal, everything you need to solve the puzzle is laid out in front of you, or can be intuited based on context clues. I'm truly baffled by how player-hostile this game is. It's almost worse because it could have been great.
Ich denke es ist eines der besten First-Person Puzzlespiele, die es da draußen gibt. Schön kurz mit 2,5h und mit teilweise echt kniffligen Stellen und einem Ende, das einem Philosophenspruch ähnelt.
For a game I picked up off the PlayStation store for free, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a cute little perspective game that is really satisfying once you solve each puzzle. It's nothing incredible but if you're looking for something quick and easy to play, Superliminal fits the bill.
Incredible game, one of the few that you can't just watch a video and get the same experience. Short and sweet, genre hops from surrealism to comedy horror to psychological thriller for no good reason, it's great. Puzzles are all very fair, although they lean on the easy side of things, so don't expect a brain test, and don't expect looking up walkthroughs. Murder, murder, murder, murder, murder, murder, beans, recommended!
People's opinions on this game may vary, but in my personal belief, it is quite literally one of the greatest puzzle games ever made, and I stand by that. From the soundtrack to the wonderful story, Superliminal delivers a unique message at the end that puts your entire life perspective into question. The gameplay, while repetitive at times, involves tasks that don't always offer something new. However, when it does, it introduces consistent ideas and rich variations among the repetition. Based on these points, the team absolutely deserves a 8. It's a great game with impressive creativity and coding techniques.
This game is absolutely phenomenal, it's a simple surface level puzzle game with a very moving message of changing your perspective and awareness. A lot of reviews say that it doesn't have a deep story, but it's not trying to have a deep story. That's not the point of the game. Superliminal has a calming atmosphere and a very unique puzzle mechanic that makes this game well worth the price of $20. I would recommend this game to anybody and everybody.
This game never failed to make me feel like I was an absolute dumbass. The puzzles can get incredibly confusing at times, and one mistake makes you hit your head against the wall before repeatedly throwing an object into the air to make it grow bigger. I reccomend to puzzle enjoyers.
Really wonderful game that explores perception in a series of mind-bending puzzles. Great atmosphere and an excellent soundtrack. Would highly recommend to all puzzle game fans.
There's obvious Portal vibes here. But where Portal nails every aspect. Superliminal feels lacking. It starts strong, but quickly becomes repetitive. Where Portal sees how far it can take a clever gimmick, Superliminal starts strong, but introduces random things and never lets you get a real grasp on the rules. The ending sequence is long and confusing leaving you feeling relieved rather than satisfied.
Very nice experience. It clicks at the end and the final message puts you to think on everyday things that are not always what they seem. Could be a bit longer or less confusing but that’s the point of it.Loved the whole experience.
This game receives an excessive amount of criticism for what it truly is. It provides a novel experience that offers distinctive gameplay for approximately two hours. While it may not be worth the price of twenty dollars, it serves as an enjoyable and brief diversion if you have access to Game Pass, allowing you to progress through it effortlessly. It even concludes with a pleasant message. Admittedly, there are superior puzzle games available, but the unique perspective mechanic makes this game worthy of your attention.
After seeing the other reviews I picked this hoping for a Portal experience - was left disappointed.
The graphics feel blurred and cheap and gave me and my partner motion sickness.
The puzzles didn't feel satisfying to solve.
First game in a long time I didn't bother to finish.
This game will always have a special place in my heart. When I played Portal and Portal 2, I loved them because they took one gimmick, one central puzzle mechanic, and they used it to make an entire game filled with originality. This game has that in spades. With an innovative core mechanic, plus highly thematically appropriate side mechanics or elements, Superliminal creates a genuinely interesting story, some fantastic puzzles, and an overall highly enjoyable game with a truly great message to encompass it. Plus, the sound design and soundtrack is phenomenal: neither are flashy or over-the-top; instead, they are understated and a perfect accompaniment to the game's tone. This game may not have the highest budget. It may not be the longest, or the most story-rich. Hell, it might not even be half as bugless as the other games that I love. But, in spite of all that, this game is a joy to play, and in my eyes it is be the greatest puzzle game of all time.
I have nothing to complain abt this game. It's absolutely beautiful and it has a great game time. About the game itself, Superliminal makes anyone blows its mind just with perspective. I loved it.
Superliminal: A Mind-Bending Puzzle ExperienceRating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) Superliminal, a first-person puzzle game, stands out with its unique mechanics that challenge players to manipulate perspective. Tailored for puzzle enthusiasts, the game delivers a rewarding mental workout through cleverly crafted challenges, despite occasional moments of perceived grindiness. The minimalist visual design and surreal ambiance contribute to the immersive experience, making Superliminal a must-play for those seeking a fresh and inventive take on puzzle-solving. Highly recommended for its mind-bending mysteries and captivating journey into the uncharted territories of perception.
I loved this game. From the art to the mechanics, they all fascinated me. I had a really hard time with some of the puzzles. The reason I'm deducting one point is because the game is too short. The game is finished in 2 hours, maximum 3 hours. The other bad thing about this game is that the multiplayer servers are almost empty. When you want to play multiplayer, most of the time there is no one in the games you enter.. To summarize, you should play this game.
Superliminal is one of the best short games I've played. Everything, from the art style, to the mechanics, to the level design, to the liminal spaces and non-euclidean spaces are gorgeous. Hell, even the voice acting for Dr. Glenn Pierce is amazing. The reason why I can't give Superliminal a 9/10 is due to how little replayability and difficulty there is. Sure, the first levels might be hard to get used to, but after the first 2-3 chapters you can breeze through levels. And after your first playthrough, you basically have nothing new to do except the Challenge mode which is the same levels but with limited grabs/jumps. I really think the game would benefit with UGC, similar to the Community Chambers in Portal 2. I can't expect the developers to upload new puzzles every week, but the community would surely do so. I'd also appreciate some lore/hints of how the clinic was created and stuff, and details about past patients (similar yet again to how Portal 2 does). Overall I think that Superliminal is still one of the best games you can play if you want a chill, relaxed game to finish in one sitting.
Mechanical innovation quickly turnt into mediocrity through recycled ideas and lack of creativity in the mid-final moments. Starts off pretty strong though. DECENT 6
