It may not be a "Halo"- or "Halo 2"-beater, but at the moment Pariah is the best alternative - and that alone is high praise indeed.

At times, it's almost as if the game outdoes itself. Storm a room with a gaggle of enemy soldiers dug in, awaiting your arrival with full is pretty exhilarating stuff, but this soon gives way to frustration when you find you've had an enemy sneak up behind you and nailed you enough times to kill you before it even registers.

Compared with Halo 2 there is certainly more substance and less of the feeling that it's just an excuse for a multiplayer mode.

While Pariah tastes fine and won't leave you gagging, it's doubtful you'll be hankering for seconds, either. [June 2005, p.84]

Features the backbone and potential of a great first-person shooter: lush graphics, great music and ambience, massive, well-designed environments and a unique storyline. When it comes down to it, though, the story is told poorly and the gameplay is incredibly repetitive, bland and hardly innovative.

Short of being the Halo-killer it was promised to be; the game design lacking focus, the graphics lacking variety, and the multiplayer lacking players.

It's time to give buyers of $50-$60 games the content that we're paying for.

Je me rappelle de se jeux qui ma tellement marqué, pour l’époque pariah était juste un “mauvais half-life” avec des graphismes pas si ouf mais son mode histoire était vraiment unique je le conseille vivement.

The early parts are ok, but later you start noticing the badly designed repetitive levels that almost make you think you're going around in circles at times. And the absolutely crap AI and trash story. I decided to just run through the 2nd half of the game in God Mode and even that was frustrating. The worst game I've played in a while.
